What if Wayne Enterprises went bankrupt? Besides possibly ruining Bruce Wayne's life, how would that affect the rest of the DC universe?

>bankrupt
wayne enterprises hasn't been in the black as a business in ages.

Good question. What superheroes and do gooders beyond Batman work under Wayne sponsorship?

how would that even happen? isn't wayne enterprises too big to fail at this point?

That's why I'm asking what if, user.

JL loses funding, Bats and the whole batfamily goes full vigilante without gadgets
But most importantly JL loses funding

>whoosh

A bigger ripple effect than most would think. For starters, Bruce looses all the patients and technology he's worked so hard to keep out of the wrong hands. We're talking dangerous shit he's either sat on for years or used exclusively for himself. Lexcorp probably snatches a lot of it, outbidding both Ted and Oliver. Next all of Bruce's students go broke, so no more supplies for them. Then there's all the charity and shit Bruce can no longer fund, so Gotham becomes even more of a shithole than it already is. Oh, and Vampires get pissed off and start feeding on people again since Bruce's blood banks no longer keep them comfy.
They still get funding from other rich leaguers. Not only that, but the government probably forks over some cash as well as rich billionaires looking for a tax write off

If you thought the crime was bad in Gotham before...

Lex would buy everything which would honestly be pretty interesting.

I wonder how big they must be, they are the biggest company in Gotham(population around 10 million)

This. Lex has wanted Wayne Enterprises for years.

Also, I know this has been answered a lot, but what exactly does Wayne Enterprises do? They seem like they are a holding company of a bunch of shit.

Real Estate Company, they basically build Gotham.

>Oh, and Vaampires get pissed off and start feeding on people again since Bruce's blood banks no longer keep them comfy
What

You know those Japanese conglomerates that has a hand in every goddamn brand and industry that exists? Wayne Enterprises is like that

This is why I say Lex would be the best possible nemesis for Batman, even more if he knew who Batman was.

Yeah it's an I, Vampire thing. Gotham is a haven for Vampires thanks to Wayne Industries blood banks. They get a free meal, and they don't feed on the locals

Wat?!?

I'm not caught up with Justice League or Year of the Villain, but didn't Lex sell all his stuff? I guess he will go back eventually, but I don't think he could buy it right now.

Lex buys it, or Ollie if he's not broke again.

Yeah, it's the GE of DC earth. Except bigger

Gotham is in New Jersey supposedly. does the DC universe have Thomas Edison? Or was it another Thomas Wayne?

VAMPIRE BATS

It's already happened.
At the end they got everything back thanks to the law for prosecuting the criminal that made them bankrupt

fitting since DC Earth is bigger than real Earth.

Gotham fucking crashes, I'm pretty sure every major company in the city is a Wayne Enterprises subsidiary

That's what a holding company is

What if the company goes under, Batman can no longer Batman to the same extent, but Gotham remains pretty much the same shithole, leading Bruce to question if his lifelong crusade even actually accomplished anything?

Yes, he liquidated all his assets so he could give the world's villains new toys

It's the plot of Nolan's Dark Knight Rises
