It used to be that they banned just Female Anthros, but nowadays? If your show has animal anything it risks being banned by default and the first show to consistently get this treatment is World of Gumball and now it's Mao's turn and the worst part? You know that once Mao's sisters properly debut the mods are going to see that as a justification for outright deleting threads by default because they're female. There seems to be a dichotomy between episodes where Mao is the smart one (There’s no shortcuts, you can’t trust everyone who’s nice) and episodes where he lets his insecurities get the best of him (must be loved by everyone, must conform to my own definition of hero)
While I’m glad these traits haven’t necessarily contradicted each other so far, I would like to see more where he’s playing the role of competent adventurer since it has been such a fresh take on that style of main character.

I wouldn't call it inconsistent, in Not Impressed BC points out that Mao Mao just makes the Hero rules just as he goes and I believe that to be true, Mao Mao thinks that a hero is the pinnacle of perfection and he obviously have a twisted view of that thanks to his family, but what he wants to be and what he really is are obviously two different things, and after popularity conquest I think is safe to say that he wants to be a hero not because of some moral code but just to impress his dad.

If you want action? Never bother with Western Animation. Art styles tend to be ugly or unfitting for Action (I hated stuff like Danny Phantom because of the art style and same to Adventure Time given it did melodrama often). The other problem is the obvious censorship like how you can't show Mao killing on screen that dragon that was attacking the Sweetipies. However compare that to anime? Just about any scene from Attack on Titan with the character using their swords to slice up the humanoid monsters on screen is allowed. And if you want an example of Shounen and not Seinen doing this look at stuff like Yu Yu Hakusho where the fights got notably brutal and they didn't sugar coat it.
You want action? Japan. You want sexy females? Japan. The west is only good for comedy and even then I wouldn't consider Mao to be a show you watch for comedy and the fanbase is Homosexual Furfag Shit.
