I'd knock up Homelander, goddamn

>He'd knock you up

FTFU.

Lol, they couldn't even save an airplane from terrorist.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 98K)

Homelander got too lazy with his powers. Instead of using superspeed he just laser beamed the terrorist in the cockpit destroying it.

He made a lot of good points. Can you lift something like a plane in the air, there's no support.

By that logic, what pushes him when he flies at all?

He can fly. There is force being generated there somewhere. Ennis just assumed they were all mouth breathing idiots and sociopaths, like all the capes he writes.

Am I the only one who was a little disappointed when it turned out the big superheroes were straight-up, moustache-twirlingly evil?

It would've been so much better if they were merely complicit, I thought. Like, generally doing good, but willing to look the other way when a lawmaker called a hit on an opponent because he passed a law they liked, or showing up just a liiiiittle bit too late to a critical journalist's housefire. Smaller, subtler things, instead of straight-up rape and murder.

It honestly would've been far more engaging for me if they were legitimately trying to do good, but were to out of touch to be effective, as opposed to "I can punch you in half, fuck your rules"

I’ve kinda always wanted to make a story where a superhero who’s generally well liked and popular with the kids just straight up murders a guy who got away with murdering his toddler or some shit. Like right on the courthouse steps.

Real talk
A-Train could probably kick MCU Quicksilver's ass

they wouldn't care if half of the universe was killed

Yes that would have been way more interesting but it would constitute holding a mirror up to the audience and saying "Look. This is what you'd probably look like as a superhero and it would be terrible"
Easiest way to turn off your average daytime tv viewer.

Kingdom Come

You might be, but that's only because most people know Mr. Garth "slap a man with a torn-off horse cock" Ennis has never even heard of subtlety.

Superman can extent his invulnerability to the shit he lifts, Homelander can't.

they would't take the gamble of being erased

Ennis wrote them. Of course the were evil.

Even if his body generates force there's no indication he can spread it beyond his person very far. Even if it can cover something the size of a person or a car and keep them from being shredded when he flies that much force spread over even an area the size of a car would punch a whole in a plane or shear the wings off.

Oh god, I totally forgot Garth Ennis wrote this.
Well shit, nevermind then

How would they fare in the MCU and DCEU?

Probably get their shit kicked in.

To be fair, its an adaptation
They could've changed it to make things better

They'd SLAUGHTER the MCU. It wouldn't even be close.

Superman would give them a hard time in the DCEU, and then he'd feel sad about it and mope in front of a mural of the Mother Mary

How about MHA?

I saw a comedian make the same joke
How does Superman fly faster. Is it just more of this?(makes arm motion that Superman does when he flies)

Attached: superman-flying-movie-wallpaper-4.jpg (1280x800, 362K)

MCU Quicksilver is barely a speedster.
Any of the speeders shown in all other cape movies could run circles around him in a blink.

Homelander would wreck Captain America, maybe even Wonder Woman and Aquaman but Superman would destroy him. A-Train would lose to the Flash, Iron Man could probably take on Translucent, that sort of thing.

Well, they’re a bit more lenient considering Endeavor, but probably still get their asses licked, albeit by the more powerful heroes.

A bunch of narcissists suddenly transported to a world of superpowered people where they aren't intrinsically special anymore? Its the perfect opportunity for personal growth on their part. Now they're judged explicitly on how good of a job they do and can't threaten or bribe the average authority figure to cover their asses.

Yeah, they’re kinda in too deep.

What about Fox Quicksilver?

Probably lose

Seriously?
Fox Quicksilver's exploding mansion feat shits all over A-Train's speed

He is effectively a self propelled rocket. If he has shown the least care he could have at least kept the planes nose up so it missed the city.

Xmen silver is definitely a closer match, and we don't have a great metric for his top speed, but a-train speeds THROUGH people, X-QS punching people only has heavy knock back.

The twist is trash desu
Now all they have to do is create an antidote
LAAAAAME

Likely because he's not doped on Super Crank and actually gives a shit about not killing people.

Would Thanos get high off Compound V?

If Thanos is an Eternal they might be close enough to human biology for it to work but Thanos wouldn't do drugs just to get high

Attached: (You) don't belong here.png (461x447, 232K)

>They'd SLAUGHTER the MCU

Attached: Lol louder.gif (288x198, 1.45M)

I thought they could, but Homelander didn't want to risk failing and already wanted to make a statement to Sitwell.

fuck off to Yea Forums, nigger.

That was Daniel Tosh

>X-QS punching people only has heavy knock back.
Does he ever actually punch someone? I mostly remember him just fucking with them, like 'lightly' pushing their own fist into their own face.

Damn it was wasn't. Weird, that's a funny joke

Yeah, that’s why A-Train loses.

I think the show actually does this pretty well. They do fight evil, they take out gangsters and terrorists, but they’re also all kind of fucked up. The only EVIL BWAHAHA one is Homelander and that’s more about him being fuck nuts insane. Maeve is a decent person who has to look the other way in order to keep her position, A-Train is an asshole sure but he genuinely loved his gf and really is just a junkie, The Deep May be a rapist but he’s also pathetic and just wants to save his sea creature buddies. Everyone on that show, besides Homelander, isn’t really evil...just not a super good person. Except Starlight, Starlight is pure and deserves protection.

I really like Homelander's actor

Also changing Sitwell to a woman added some interesting depth to Homelander

Was killing off Translucent so early a mistake?

Homelander and Black Noir will double team Superman. Superman doesn't stand a chance.

616 Thanos did drugs and various other things to enhance himself beyond his limits. Not sure about MCU Thanos.

>Everyone on that show, besides Homelander, isn’t really evil...
Are you really attempting to claim that a rapist ain't really evil?

Attached: jimmy something's wrong with you.png (515x1026, 930K)

I want to fuck this guy HARD

Attached: Deep.gif (480x270, 1.52M)

Yeah no. Super already took on 3 Kryptonians once and that was before his powerboost in JL.

Enhancing himself is one thing but I don't think he'd do drugs to get high

Not really defending Deep coercing the blowjob but he's a pretty far cry from being evil, people aren't that black and white

>5'10
>5'11
>6'0½
>supes

Attached: laugh9.gif (250x198, 1.28M)

Couldn't they have flown the passengers off the plane a few at a time?

Attached: Justice League21.png (1000x1040, 381K)

It's pointed out
Homelander didn't want to do it
Too tedious for him

He was my fantasy casting for Marc Spector. Watch Banshee and tell me he wouldn't make an AMAZING Moon Knight.

Will this show have Homelander fucking "Captain America"

>t. 5'3 coping midget

Starting to get into The Boys comics and was a big time fan of The Ultimates. It got me wondering; has there ever been a group of superheroes that police superheroes? Basically a team of superpowered individuals who operate under the radar and not affiliated with the government. Their mission is to fight villains AND keep an eye on capes and masks that abuse their power and status. Basically a non-mutant version of X-Men/X-Force that are specifically designed to curbstomp Homelanders and other depraved supers.

wait when did homelander knock up billy's wife? the fuck is this surprise NTR shit?

im pretty sure that came from rogen and goldberg. the ennis version got the team fucked up

that was always implied, i mean billy killed the supe baby with a lamp.

can you spoil me what happens to the cheating whore? does billy kill her?

in the comics? the baby kills her when it busts out of her, which billy then goes on to kill

They are evil, but in believable and complex ways, not in comic book "I am insane and I want to take over the world" way.

>Can you lift something like a plane in the air, there's no support.
Homelander apparently can't. He made a good excuse to why he can't, but of course it's all arbitrary. They could have decided that he can.

If my understanding is correct, his flight power has limited capacity, about a few people, his strength can let him bend his body with great power, so if he's having a stable foundation he can lift heavy things or punch or throw things into space, but he has nowhere to pass the moment he'll just flail in accordance to Newton's 3rd law.

Actually he continues saying more than that. He most likely could do it but he might flip the plane by focusing all his strength in one spot or even worse, just shoot right through it

Homelander isn't evil so much as he lacks frame of reference. Raised like a lizard for so long and then being told he's a God definitely did a number on him. He could actually turn around a bit if it were possible to get close enough to him emotionally

Would the goodwill of saving the few children on board have outweighed the outrage at leaving everyone else to die?

If it wasn't his fault, sure. People would accept it. But children will remember how he behaved, so they are better off dead.

Yeah, he could have salvaged it if he'd thought of saving face before gtfoing

>the big superheroes were straight-up, moustache-twirlingly evil?
Damn it!
This is what happened? I had my hopes up for nothing.

Attached: no fun is allowed!.jpg (225x225, 11K)

I mean, I'd totally made starstruck girls suck my dick if I could get away with it. Or get addicted to steroids.

So what's his shtick? In the show, I mean.

Attached: The-boys-21.jpg (1200x800, 150K)

He is black

Or you know, he can slow down the plane by holding onto it while slowly forcing deceleration himself. While also guiding it to land on a softer surface.

I only recognize shera on the left

This is all pointless discussion. Homelander didn't save the plane because he already decided it's a lost cause, assuming he isn't playing dumb and didn't want it to crash to begin with.

>The All-American Cape turns out to be an evil jock
I was with it until that part happened. That's practically the oldest one in the book, to the point it's been parodied in-comic.

That doesn't seem very practical when you consider it scientifically. But bottom line is if he could he still didn't want to.
I love that when homelander is yelling at everyone he stops and says not you though noir you're doing great

He's heard of it. He used to use it sometimes. But Preacher sold very well, and he just... left that particular tool in the box from then on.

Ahhhh so that explains why the comic is so unneededly edgy

comic relief

why is their no proper super villains or vigilantes in the show besides terrorists (and to some extent the comic)

What’re they gonna doing? Gang rape Thanos to death while Starlight looks the other way in disgust?

Or in the attempt to do so he could end up accidentally crumpling or tearing a chunk from the plane because he'd be forcing deceleration on one small point of such a large object.

>cheating whore
Dude you should read the comic because in there they flat out explain that she was brutally raped, and was in no way a willing participant

because amoral sociopaths figured out it'd be easier and more profitable being a superhero than a supervillain

True but surely their'd be some villains like Stain or Garou who detest the hero culture and destroy it

You're missing the point. Homelander was just looking for an excuse, ANY excuse, to turn what might have been a normal hijacking into a tragedy.
What is more likely to make congress act, a tragedy narrowly averted or a tragedy that could have been averted if only congress would have let the Supes act?

hmmmm someone posted an image of that happening once

They honestly weren’t that evil in the comics, just self-centred bastards

Homelander has trouble doing truly evil things because it wasn’t really him doing it. Black Noir is actually evil but the rest are just, as Butcher says, wankers

in the comic they explain that if someone like Stain does appear they get instantly gibbed by Homelander. There was a panel where a dude was fucking shit up and Homelander just flys through him. That incident was later spun by the comic people to look like a villain “you didn’t win” suicide

He did rape Starlight and tricked the Cap America guy into having sex with him

comic relief until his character twist

Actually you're missing it, homelander spun it after the fact, brilliantly I might add. He fucked up the console on accident, probably due to the fact that he was merely reacting to the threat. He was being lazy plain and simple, he could have saved everyone by making multiple trips but he didn't want to. It wasn't easy anymore and he didn't want to put in the effort

Can you find it on Desuarchive?

Homelander's heat vision is OP, Captain Marvel Thor and Iron Man's beams/thunders are so fucking weak (yeah they can destroy a fucking ship sometimes, but nothing shooting directly against an alien like Cull Obsidian, Thanos without gauntlet, etc, so fucking stupid)

Please, Ennis. Don’t embarrass yourself.

>brilliantly I might add
No shit, it was straight up 9-11. Even down to homelander having super powered terrorist.

>Implying Ennis would try and argue for his super OCs behalf in a who would win fight

what is the superpower of this dude in black

Super strength, super durability, and maybe flight, laser eyes, enhanced hearing + whatever else the Homelander can do.

Yeah that's exactly what I was getting at

Wasn't the Deep black in the comics?

>Deep was a black guy with a diving helmet and flight
>Translucent was a Martian Manhunter parody called: Jack from Jupiter
>Jack from Jupiter looked weird, could fly, and become invulnerable after saying a magic word
>A-Train was white
>Starlight sucked off Homelander, Black Noir, and A-Train
There's still a good chance we'll get Homelander fucking Soldier Boy (Captain America).

Did you anons even watch the show?

He’s normal asshole evil not “I’m a fucking god” crazy evil.

Is it wrong that I like the show more than the comic? The characters have so much more nuance in the show and actually feel like real people, the comic (as fun as it is) boils down to pretty simple “supers bad” themes without exploring much of what that means. I even like the Butcher twist because in the comics he was basically a one note Punisher expy and as cool as he was I just don’t think “revenge” is a very riveting backstory.

Just a taste thing.

The situation for the blowjob is a lot different. Instead of everyone being on board and whipping their dicks out. It's just Deep.

The Deep gave the girl the tour, like he was supposed to. Later on started pressing her, and found out she was a fan girl. To him that was the green light for a bj, when she backed off immediately that's when he brought the "you don't do this your off" card.

So I would call him a sexual predator at best.

Good luck about beating captain marvel

>The Deep isn't black
THanks Seth you fucking hack.

A-train is black and a fiend
I feel like it was a good trade off. The Deep is coasting on white privilege and A-train is an addict who's brother honestly doesn't buy his bs.

I feel the same way user. The comic really is like watching a trainwreck(in a good way) like many people have said and I fucking hate Butcher. I actually want to see him to get his shit pushed in.

Am I the only one that thought most the characters were poorly written? Homelander seems like they couldn't decide whether to make him the idiot gag character or the clever mastermind. Starlight giving that speech at the Believe fest felt extremely forced and her flirting with the guy at the bar felt out of character or maybe a little too soon for her character arc to reach that point. The subplot with the Deep proved pointless to the end and I'm not at all sure why the show continued following him. They also kept forcing dry humor into scenes and it just didn't belong, the story itself was good enough without it and there wasn't really a call for comic relief at those times. The fact everyone was created with Compound V ruins the aspects of any possible origin story too. And I couldn't understand Frenchie most of the time, even with subtitles. Reeks of Seth Rogan imo

It changes it from "wanting to impress a father figure who doesn't even see you as anything beyond a brand" to "me likey the woman".

Homelander was definitely better in the begging. He went full Looney tunes as the show went on.

(you)

Why is it so fucking good guys?
Is it the fleshed out characters?
The awesome costumes?
The apsolutely phenomenal acting?

>couldn't even stop 9/11
>wants to stop a man who kills half the universe

yes

The homelander would have been so easy to cast as some generic Chad bad guy but the actor makes him actually scary
And the deep wasn't even a character in the comic, neither was maeve, really.

Did Yea Forums actually like this? It felt so shallow.

>he was basically a one note Punisher expy and as cool as he was I just don’t think “revenge” is a very riveting backstory.

You're just looking at the surface of his backstory. The more interesting motivations are in his relationship with his father, which is one of the major themes of the series; every character is defined by their relationship with their father or their actions as a father. Losing his girl isn't his backstory, it's just the moment that focuses the man he already is towards destroying capes.

True. I can't wait for season 2.

Bezos shills have been here since the show came out. The show was average at best

What are their power levels?

Stormwatch: Team Achillies was, up until the writer was found out to have lied about his serving in the military and DC decided to distance themselves from it

I kinda feel like the show is simultaneously better than and worse than the comic

>The Tick died for this

FUCK YOU, AMAZONq

Just finished season 1.

Thought it was okay. Had some absolutely amazing moments, but the ending felt a little weak.

The biggest problem that I can see is the budget. The show needs at least one or two big flashy, blood-soaked setpieces that it just isn't equipped to deliver.

Also, I feel like the "Superhero publicity firm" angle is a little weak.
Very early on, when Starlight was catching shit for saving the girl getting raped and stuff, I *really* wanted her to walk out of Vaught entirely and go public with her abuse. She's a blonde, midwestern, christian country girl, ain't nobody going to stand against her!
but the way they ended up taking it was fine too.

Also, the ending seemed a little weak. It was both extremely sudden, and very predictable, and I'm not really sure what it means for the main characters. It feels like it was *supposed* to serve as an emotional endcap, but it doesn't really feel like one.

He saw her as the mother figure he never had, except it also extended to him wanting to bang her. Why do you think he was blatantly jealous of the kid?

Homelander, Starlight, Translucent, and Maeve keep him busy
A-Train steals the gems
Deep and Noir do nothing

>a whole in a plane
Why should anyone think you're smart enough to converse with?

Who did it better?

Attached: image.jpg (470x706, 50K)

He does things

Attached: black-625x351.jpg (625x351, 51K)

The ending felt like a mid-season finale.

I'm pretty sure it's heavily implied, if not outright stated, that all the revenging is just an excuse for Billy to lash out for the shit-stained knickers that is his life. He's a sadistic piece of shit, and he's trying to rationalize and justify his actions by using his dead wife as an excuse.

I really hope there's more to it in the show than Btucher simply getting cucked.

>male actors are fit
>females actors are skinnyfat
I usually wouldn't pay that much attention to something like this, but it's really noticeable when they're in skintight costumes. Why not getting someone stacked for Maeve since they don't have to be fit anyways.

i always called out this bullshit whenever i've seen superman do it

tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RequiredSecondaryPowers

Imagine being stupid enough to apply real life physics to comic books.

In the show:
The Deep is a huge selfish asshole, but he isn't evil
Maeve is beaten down and cut off emotionally but she's not evil
A-Train is a pathetic junkie, but he's not evil.
Translucent doesn't get enough time for us to tell, really. Worst he does is spy on people in the bathroom and go after who he suspected was a terrorist
Black Noir says and does barely anything so another unknown

The only truly evil member is Honelander. The rest are just selfish and afraid

>hurr durr if he can fly he should be able to lift heavy thing with no surface to push against and have no regard for it's weight x surface area

I've had it recommended and I can definitely see it after The Boys, he can do the whole schizo thing well

>daddy issues good
>mommy issues bad

is he the fastest live action speedster?

Attached: cw.jpg (1200x600, 122K)

does anyone remember what issue it is where jack from jupiter tells him to speak in ebonics, that was pretty funny

CW Barry is absolutely broken, which is the point of The Flash, so yes, he is. Nobody has came close to Barry's shennigans outside of Quicksilver on DoFP.

>She's a blonde, midwestern, christian country girl, ain't nobody going to stand against her!

Have you been asleep for the past two and a half years?

>Thinking Noir will be a Homelander clone in the show

He's already being played by a black person.

The actor might just be a placeholder or something.

I'd argue that A-Train is kinda fucking evil since he laughed about the incident with Hughie's gf and showed little to no remorse.

Nah, A-Train is only Mach 1 at best or so. MCU Quicksilver is probably Mach 2 or 3. But Fox Quicksilver would rape them both 100 times

Superman would solo the team in a brutal speedblitz

The actor is obviously a placeholder, he's basically a glorified stuntman.

Kinda. But they probably did it because it'd be hard to write his death if he caught on to the boys and was more prepared.

so starlight had a choice: suck dick get a job or dont and get by your business.
she chose to suck but the guys are the rapist..wtf?
if she was religious why did she suck the dick?

It was pretty much just a reference to the Weinstein kinda guys in Hollywood

>why did she suck the dick?
cuz diq is good

are these pocket knifes?
lel
