Pokemon animation got better, the new characters are more deep and unique, the cast was expanded etc, it improved
Western cartoons are just getting worse, Amphibia and Owl house follow the same identical cal arts/bean mouth style used since Gravity Falls but with worse animations and a completelly generic fatnasy world setting

You fags are the reason animation isn't taken seriously anymore. The way you fix this is you write better stories and manage budgets better. That's literally all you need to do to be taken seriously- have a level of professionalism and give everyone a reason to take you seriously instead of parading around shows with redundant, time wasting solutions.

For fuck's sake, video games make for more entertaining cartoons than TV animation post 2010. Just look at stuff like any colorful Rareware game (Banjo, Conker, DK, etc.) and Team Fortress 2. That shit has loads of personality that can entertain even the most jaded cynical individuals (which is what cartoons should strive to be, just without gameplay)- and despite that, shit like Adventure Time, OK KO and nuPPG have absolutely no soul to them.

There’s always some hidden gem out there in western animation even if Yea Forums won’t admit it. But Game Freak’s laziness since Gen 6 finally bit them in the ass with the upcoming games having controversy over not all mons being available and seemingly being less full of content and less graphically impressive on a console system than a handheld system a generation before. Throw in potentially even less new mons than ever and older fans not realizing how many of them grew up and/or became turbo-autists and they are primed to become the autism fandom like Sonic was in the 00s.
