Blue.

It's the same guys who did Batman's Long Halloween? That's pretty damn cool. Thanks for the recommendation!

kraven's last hunt is awesome
the original black suit saga is pretty cool
current run has been pretty good so far too, kindred is one of the more interesting antagonists in recent years

Start at the beginning and stop reading Slott.

Ultimate Spider Man for as long as Peter has the mantle will always have a special place in my heart

Kraven's Last Hunt is really good

Any Amazing Spider Man really, but especially anything to do with Green Goblin

Hey Dan.

Naw man, Slott has written a number of comics that were awful, (Superior, Alpha, everything post Secret Wars, Venom Inc, Red Goblin, fucking Spiderverse), but I’d be a liar if I didn’t admit that he has written some Spidey comics that I really enjoyed. The Slott written comics here are the ones from his decade long tenure that I liked.

I've only read Clone conspiracy and good lord it's awful, i hated his portrayal of Gwen and how was downplayed her interaction with Peter, not to mention autistic Ben Jackal.

Yeah dude, Clone Conspiracy was hot garbage, his writing Spider-Gwen wasn’t at all good, he completely ignored his own rules with the clones seeing as how Billy wasn’t freaking right the fuck our seeing his dad walk around as The Lizard who fucking ate him alive, Jackal Ben has a cool design, but that’s it, his motivation and attitude made zero sense. His earlier stuff on ASM is muuuuch better

I just wanted Gwen to live, pretty much everyone wanted that, even Peter ends up accepting that she was the real Gwen and tried to save her.

Personally I didn’t want Gwen to live, I’ve never liked Gwen, I like the Spider version even less, I wanted Mattie to live tho, and was really bummed when she died in Silk. But at least she got to go out like a hero, rather than being strapped to a table and killed in a ritual sacrifice.

Mattie, Jean DeWolfe, Fredrick Foswell, Martha jameson, hell even madam web petes had quite a few people die that could've used a comeback. Why slott decided on only Ned surviving still makes no sense

Naw he also had Martha and Billy Connors manage to survive, apparently the Lizard transformation canceled out the Carrion virus so Curt dosed his family and snuck them out during the confusion, honestly that was my favorite bit from that crap storyline, and Spencer was able to follow up with it pretty fucking well too

If there's one word I'd use to describe Spencer's run is clean-up, and he's doing a pretty good job.

While some stories stand out on their own, spidey is always best enjoyed when reading a run on a regular series. That way you can really get into the soap opera with his supporting cast, and spidey has the best supporting cast of all superheroes. My favorite is JM deMatteis/Sal Buscema's run on spectacular, bit other classics are Roger Stern on spectacular/amazing, of David Michelinie on amazing.

Good news is that Superior is great for those that don't read Spider-Man comics. If you do like Spider-Man than get the JMS run of Amazing, Yost's Scarlet Spider, Spider-Man Team Up, Spider-Man and the X-Men, Ultimate Spider-Man (stop after Requiem and don't touch Ultimatum), and Marvel Adventures Spider-Man and Avengers.

You have brain damage, or a freak that likes to use a man purse.

He is right with the exception Bendis' Avengers.

I was talking about Marvel Adventures Avengers HOWEVER oddly enough Bendis' first New Avengers is pretty good and he writes Peter pretty well in it. Having him get on Cage's nerve is the best.

>"Otto walks around in a Peter meatsuit and rapes him with a midget for a year" is the only Marvel I've read
Why?

Trash list with the exception of RYV. We'll yet to see where Spencer would take us.
If you want Spider-man, don't read anything after ASM#545 unless it's out of continuity.
