That's my secret.
I'm always angry.
That's my secret.
I'm always angry.
thats my deus
im always ex machina
I'd be constantly pissed too just to be brought back for a game series and rarely any appearances in the parks.
I see this as a complete win.
I heard they sell oswald plushies and he and his gf show up but its not enough for me
He got a new series on Disney +
will believe it when i see it
indeed
now pay me
I'm interested to ask this as an Oswald nut: why do you think Oswald's fans are so nuts?
It might be the most diehard group in the Disney fandom and probably Disney's prime example of a cult following, but so far he's appeared in
>27 shorts, a good chunk of which are unviewable
>Universal's run which no one follows so doesn't really count
>2 video games
>A 2013 30-second short
>2 or so comics
And here we are, it's a bit amazing
>2 or so comics
we had 6 wasteland comics i believe
and the seperate "just like magic" comic
i guess part of the appeal is like donald
a character who just keeps struggling in his life
well, the 1927 cartoons have all the charm of the earliest Mickey cartoons, except:
>no squeaky dumb voices
>a few Felix-style reality-bending gags
>we haven't watched the character get sanitized and turned into a corporate symbol – still a troublemaker
it's all the Disney and none of the evil world-eating corporate shit.
indeed maybe a disney plus show will ruin him. i almost hope that title card people keep posting is fake.
>maybe a disney plus show will ruin him
that would suck but it is a risk..
There's still no OFFICIAL announcement.
I'm more optimistic
He lasted 90 years now, one show won't ruin him. If Epic Mickey or anything since 06 hasn't ruined him but only brought more interest to him I can expect them to do him well. It doesn't have to be permanent either
The only thing is that everyone has a different opinion on what Oswald should be. So even if the make the GOAT some still won't like how he's characterized.
>2019
>optimistic
also, he's neglected.
most anons probably feel neglected.
it's Friday night, look where we are.
we're not on a date, we're not at a friend's house, we don't have enough fucks left to give to even play a video game right now... we're on Yea Forums.
i wonder if people like us even existed in 1927, how we coped with it... maybe we all just quietly disappeared
>be 1928
>past-user is, I don't know, a typewriter repairman?
>go out to the movies to see some stuff
>these flapper girls are so hot
>won't give me the time of day
>Buster Keaton in "Steamboat Bill, Jr"? this should be hilarious
>there's a cartoon before it
>"The Banker's Daughter"
>this chauffeur is daring, making eyes at a girl above his station
>maybe i'll hit on a rich girl... these flappers all probably have syphilis anyway
>Oswald thwarts a bank robbery
>knocks audiences dead for a month
>goes in the film can
>stays there for 91 years.
>nothing but dust now
This is a good point, maybe we connect on a emotional and personal level to his neglect
Thankfully this place exists so we can connect to others on topics like this. We couldn't do that decades ago
>be 1987
>dial your 300 baud modem to some Mickey-themed BBS
>everyone is talking all disney all the time
>boy the company sure is in trouble but isn't animation great?
>my Song of the South VHS tape just went up in value because they're not making it anymore
>one guy heard that before Walt Disney went out on his own, he made this other character before Mickey
>Osmond? I don't know.
>I think Walt lost the rights so we'll never see it, not worth dwelling on
>Hey I haven't seen Lord Van Halen posting lately?
>he got deleted, posting too much innuendo about Minnie Mouse
>not sure that's fair, pretty sure he was joking and had a point
>he's still on the Brown Shoe BBS, I'll E-Mail him from there.
>he offers to fax me some drawings he made
>you mean... a porno of a cartoon character?
>is it gay if you jack off to a drawing by another guy?
>I mean we're probably the only two people on the planet who are into this
>i better say no,
>in fact, better get the sysop to delete him from Brown Shoe too so I don't end up sucking his dick.
>isolation increases
>end up committing suicide
>never learn that Oswald exists
>be 1936
>be an oswald fan
>he looks like this
>theater stops getting new oswald cartoons for a little while
>they dig some old reels from 1927 out
>why the fuck does he look like felix the cat now
Who owns Felix the Cat now? They're not doing any shit with him so Disney should buy him and make him Oswald's brother-in-law
if Oswald and Mickey have a third brother, it should be Flip the Frog, because he's Ub Iwerks' first character after parting ways with Walt.
They could give the trio a cool name like the Three Caballeros.
Universal
Would be interesting to see a dynamic where Oswald and Mickey are half brothers and Felix is a brother in law.
But reviving Julius the Cat is more likely then Disney buying Felix
