Why can't the Kim Possible fandom see that Kimron is bad ?
Why can't the Kim Possible fandom see that Kimron is bad ?
Ron is bad, period.
Seething beta ronfag mad his self insert isn’t some hot chad who’s too good for Kim.
didnt she ended up at the end with him?
Why do friendship romances make so many people angry? I genuinely don't understand.
Yes, and they were actually dating the last season, that's what this is about
It's still a controversial ship to this day
Fuck people who self insert as Ron
nothings inherently bad about them, but a lot of the time they’re forced in shows without considering if they actually have chemistry.
pic related.
Sometimes friendship romances don't work and are forced .
It absolutely is not. A good amount of people were satisfied with it because you would have to be dumbshit oblivious to not realize where the story was going with their relationship. The only fans who consider RonKim as 'controversial' are buttmad Kigofags.
>without considering if they actually have chemistry.
This argument is bullshit. If they're believable as friends, they have chemistry. It's one thing if writers handle it poorly and completely change the dynamic, but a couple acting like two friends who are sexually attracted to each other is fine.
booo your opinion
They’re mad Ron isn’t banging Bonnie or some other cunt for their self insert fantasies.
I don't think they HAD to start dating but they are good for each other and that's what matters in the end.
Chemistry between friends and chemistry between lovers are completely different things
You can have both, but not always. It's annoying when a guy and girl are friends in a show and that people assume they HAVE to sexualize each other and start dating. It doesn't always work like that.
>Childhood friend winning
>Bad
Yeah, when So The Drama was supposed to be the end, but then Season 4 happened and they had to have them dating when it was never needed before.
It was made in a very innocent time.
Cry more, yurifags
>innocent times
Didn't the showrunner of American Dragon Jake Long say something about the execs pulling him aside to show him all the KP porn made while the show was running in order to prepare him for the inevitable
Both of these are pretty shit. They aren't even believable friends. How often does a head cheerleader hang out with the dorky school clown, or a goth girl with a male nerd? In Danny and Sam's case they at least share an interest in the paranormal, Kim just took Ron (the pre-kung-fu buff fuck-up) along on missions for some insane reason. And in both cases, you don't feel like there is any sexual attraction there. It just goes at one point "Huh, I guess my friend is kinda OK-looking, let me settle for them. If we like each other as friends, surely we'll also be great as lovers." And there's almost no basis for this in reality, childhood sweethearts are super-rare, if childhood friends do try out dating, most of the time they break up, it becomes awkward and their friendship deteriorates. That "more than friends" line is complete bullshit. Friendship takes much more time and effort to build than a romantic relationship, but the sort of person that would make a good friend for you is very rarely also someone who would make a perfect romantic partner. That's why dating a great friend almost always ends poorly, your best bet is to find a good romantic partner and then try to become at least OK friends, but even then, people who call their spouse "their best friend" and also mean it, are very rare. And that's after years of cultivating a relationship. And then of course is the fact of how fucking often is your friend also someone you're attracted to? Friends are very rarely picked on appearance and when that happens it usually doesn't work out.
TL; DR: even on the off chance that you're attracted to them, being romantically compatible with your best friend is a corny, naive, pipe-dream and even kids get this.
How the fuck did they show him KP porn? Didn't this shit run in the early 00's? The internet was slow and fragmented back then, where would you even find 34, forget about GOOD 34? Quality 34 was non-existent even 10 years ago, and even then you had to actively look to see it.
Sam was in love with *Phantom* not Fenton. The proto-catfishing guy she dated looked just like his ghost form, and she shit on him when he finally cracked under the pressure of being a town hero and gave up his powers with that god awful speech. if he never got his powers she would never have given him a second look.
after all these years the only thing that stuck for me was how much of a bitch Sam is.
Good Sir, I can assure you there was good r34 in the early 00's. Next to a lot of Anime, KP and Star Wars were the very few western examples of r34, I can remember.
The madmen commissioned it.
>One (or both) have better choices
>They work better as friends
Ron could (and should) have banged the entire cheerleading squad.
Who hurt you, user? lol
I actually didn't like that they became a couple as a kid because even then I considered it cliché
Weren't Ron and Kim friends for a long time since kids? It makes sense that they had a friendship that transcended beyond popularity? Doesn't justify the love but certainly the friendship
Now Danny and Sam, that made no sense whatsoever. There was no reason she'd be with Tucker or Danny as friends beforehand
iirc Kim is basically too tightly wound/borderline autistic for most people to want to spend much time around her.
Bullshit. The stuff back then was either clumsily drawn garbage some horny kid scribbled or non-sexy goofy shit drawn for laughs.
Which madmen? Either way, that would mean the stuff would most likely never make it to the net, since fading into obscurity is the fate of most commissions even now, and all commissions from back then because people were afraid of either getting sued or other real-life repercussions.
>Danny and Sam, that made no sense whatsoever
They were both social pariahs (which was probably good enough for Butchy)
Your mom. And the worst thing, she doesn't even let me see my son.
Most of the noise is butthurt Kigo shippers.
Kim is for breast envy
People who are that different usually drift apart, even if they were best friends as kids. I just can't imagine someone like Kim being able to stand Ron, forget about being best friends.
In Sam's and Danny's case, Sam was just a Danny Phantom groupie. That wasn't friendship, she just hung around him and he was too much of a loser to reject having an extra acquaintance.
Please stop inserting yourself as Ron
I think some of the writers already did that.
Strange that there is more rooting for friendship romances in anime than in Western cartoons. Is it because the childhood friend has moments to show they care for each other than Western shows? Is it because the love interest in anime tends to be either your tsundere or bland female lead compared to the childhood one?
>cheerleaders being interested in male cheerleaders or mascots
The least believable thing in the whole show, including the magic and super-science. But even after Ron became popular, he was too much of child to retain either girls or popularity. Him and Kim feels like a carer/retard relationship, or the creepy, non-hot type of mom/son incest.
Yeah, the show made it clear from Day 1 that she was just as much of an outcast as Ron was.
It's set very differently. The "childhood friend" in anime is already positioned like a girlfriend in all but name in most shows. They look after each other and get jealous as a pair would, there's lots of sexual tension. When they actually get together, it feels like an extension of what they already have, rather than a twist in their relationship. And rather than competing for the hero, the popular girl rival feels like a homewrecker.
ADJL ran from 2005 to 2007, broadband internet was a thing then and Disney certainly had the cash to afford it. Dunno about the actual 34 art quality though.
I’ve literally had plenty of genuine female friends that I got crushes on. (Even if they were one sided)
Could something like that work in Western cartoons? Two friends of opposite sex are very close and protective of each other. Poster girl/new main lead girl comes in that male friend grows interested to join her in crazy adventures while female friend gets jealous and worried of losing the connection with him.
A part of me wants to blame Rumiko for this, but I just love her works too much.
Reminder that Ron is an athletic prodigy that was able to dodge simultaneous attacks from Kim and Shego, is a monkey god, was once a millionaire for inventing the naco, is actually more popular than Kim, and killed two warrior aliens in the finale. If anything he settled for Kim.
You seem very sad
Yes.
It was shit, SHIT.
I don't think it would work due to cultural differences. Japan sees marriage as a social responsibility. Marrying a childhood friend is "convenient" because you don't need to ask a colleague or go to a marriage agency to arrange a spouse interview. So a new girl is merely seen as a turbulent factor in this implicit contract. In the West, this would come off as an obsessed girl with unrequited love for the hero. A quarter of the audience would hate her, a quarter would hate the hero, another quarter the "homewrecker", and the last quarter would hate the writer for making those respective characters. And why would you want that? Just go and watch some anime. In the West, the romance focus would repel the people who would want to watch that for adventure and vice versa.
And yet, shipping is what most fanbase would talk about compared to plot/adventure. Maybe the shippers itself is a minor in Western fandom, but they tend to be more vocal and get more noticed by outsiders who haven't seen the show or hear its popularity rising by those people.
Real facts: she self-inserts as the worst girl and always writes for her to win. She got shot down in Yatsura because the readers hated it, but she threw a fit and got her way in Ranma since she had more clout by then, she didn't even give Kagome a rival in Inu-Yasha and that thing she's writing now just looks like Inu-Yasha 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Shipping with no basis is fun because nothing and everything is canon and you're being creative. With a romance cartoon, you have to just sit there and deal with the shitty reality you are given. It's having fun thinking about Action Movie Arnie going against his own character from the Terminator vs it actually happening and being a garbage-tier Hollywood nostalgia/hype cashgrab.
It used to be that shipping with no basis is fun. But now it's if the ship works well in writing or if your ship is gay/lesbian enough to be progressive with the times.
How come yurifags are so hypocritical when it comes to friends -> lovers pairings? It only becomes a problem with het ships.
There it's more likely that the feelings of love and attraction were misunderstood as fondness for a friend.
>Him and Kim feels like a carer/retard relationship, or the creepy, non-hot type of mom/son incest.
I think you need your head checked, son.
In a perfect world, people could love each other without wanting to bang
But this is not a perfect world.
>golly gee wilikers, the people on the internet surprise me every day with their uncouthness!
Because most of the KP fandom is full of young girls who self inserted as Kim and had the hots for run.
The better question is why can't the Kim Possible fandom see that Kigo is overrated and bad?
The fact that there is still a ‘fandom’ for this almost 15 year-old Disney afternooon shit show is bad. Let alone the fact they still care about ‘shipping’
Based
It can still be shoehorned just as much and should be applied to them.
Disney was smart enough to take advantage of them for the live action reboot though. even rage watches count for ratings
Kagome's romantic rival was herself.
Wasn't she a psychotic ghost?
Fuck if I know. Kikyo never really made much sense.
son, there was a hoard of Disney fan porn on UseNet with numerus specific subgroups back in '94.
slow, low def, terribly done, and soo much badly scanned blue lined notebook paper, but very real.
>every generation thinks it invented sexual degeneracy
>grampy what are usegroups
ZONE was active in '00, for reference.
So where is it? All I've seen from that age is a few pieces of horrific garbage no one sane could ever fap to. That's where the "no Western stuff" rule came from, it wasn't that m**t was such a super-weeb, it's that Western stuff was phantasmagorical in quality. And that continued well into the late 00's, only the beginning of 10's brought us decent 34 in considerable amounts.
More like a zombie. She was brought back from the dead but was still dead on the inside.
>Make BOTH contenders self-inserts, then I can't lose!
>middle-age lady laughter
So is this what it feels like to finally become an oldfag?
cuz they're fucking retarded
>"I'm weirding guys out. They see me on TV, round-housing some goon out a window. It's a vivid image."
Kim has always struggled with how she appears to most guys. Ron doesn't see her that way and it gives him an edge in getting past the persona to the person.
Old newsgroups, dead websites. The internet has changed a lot and much has been lost to time - "nothing is ever deleted from the internet" is a more nebulous concept than you might believe.
>All I've seen from that age is a few pieces of horrific garbage no one sane could ever fap to
You gotta make do with what you got and that's what was done.
It's hard to watch for people who don't have friends
Couldn't say. I think the cliche of best friends ending up together is justification enough for a lot of people. It happens so often in shows that it's just expected, or at least not surprising. I think what KimRon lacked most was occasional hints at the possibility. The good best friend to romance relationships I can think of drop many hints of attraction throughout the show. They aren't a guarantee of a good romance (Danny and Sam), but I don't think it can be done believably without them.
Just because your best friend didn't fall in love with you, (and she banished you to the friends zone) doesn't mean all friendship romances are bad OP.
She still almost lost in Ranma. Shampoo was WAY more popular with the anime team and fans. It's why she got a fuckton of episodes that flushed out her character.
Same reason why people can't see that Katara and Zuko was bad or Katara and Aang
I'm going through Kim Possible for screencaps right now and the number of time Ron is a chad is pretty high.
About the only person that outright hated Ron was Bonnie.
Even so...
She dropped him hard once he was flat-broke again. Bonnie's hate can be temporarily overridden by her greed.
She's just tsundere. Her family is a lot richer than his, anyway.
>tfw you never liked gender bender stuff but you had no issue if Ranma decided to stay as Ranko forever and hook up with Ryoga
doesnt help there are not just many doujins but a full on Anthology of this ship about it so you know its a ship many folk like, also because Akane literally worst girl
Urusei Yatsura was massively more interesting for pivoting to Lum as main girl. Shinobu is boring.
She didn't really specifically hate him as much as he's associated with Kim, her true rival
I like to think Disney tried that with these two just for them to start laughing.
Don't compare Danny Phantom romance to Kim, it was consistently stated since the first episode that Danny and Sam always acted more like a couple than friends but were in denial about their feelings.
Are you sure? The millionaire thing I'd write off because Ron had half the girls in school in that episode but Homecoming Upset is hard to ignore.
Bonnie's old boyfriend is gone and given that she's a pretty and popular cheerleader she shouldn't have any trouble getting another guy. Yet she bribes the AV nerd to set her up with Ron and after subtle hints don't work she literally throws herself at him. If she was already going to use trickery and steal another girl's guy she could have picked anyone, but she deliberately picked Ron and looked happy doing it (he wasn't even the quarterback like her old boyfriend, he was the new running back).
Throughout the series we see that Bonnie thinks highschool works on a firm caste system, 'the foodchain'. That bonding episode shows that at home she's bullied by her older sisters for any sign that she's not as pretty, popular or successful as they are. While he might not be her true love I think Bonnie does like Ron but feels huge pressure to not act on it because he's not one of the cool kids (at least until he becomes running back and she has a loophole). Her inner turmoil leads her to overcompensate and be mean to Ron, something that Kim actually pointed out in one episode ('why do you care so much') when Bonnie was obviously fixating on Ron.
I guess she finally got her revenge for Urusei Yatsura fans popularity voting Lum into being the love interest instead of Shinobu.
should I get more Kim breast envy screencap edits Y/Y
Kigo shippers
t. Roastie
>Bullshit
Oh you sweet summer child. You really must be young. Like, "does Fortnite dances in the cafeteria at lunch time" young.
Preach!
I don't know why everyone who complain about KimRon or state that they have better options forget about this tidbit.
A person who truly really loves you can see through your exterior and act, talk and care for it the way your really need.
I remember this every time I see that Deviantart account who make "Couple who should've been canon" and keep mentioning KimxShego and complain about KimxRon. Lots of laugh were made!
Knowing Disney it was probably stuff the animators themselves made.
This ep was weird but it did make me want ROn/Bonnie to bone. Just bone. Nothing else.
Jeep seething, faggot. Kimron is the cutest couple.
I mean, what do you people want to SOLVE "Best Friends upgrades to Lovers= Friendship Disrespected! Really Bad and Cliche"?
I always get this complaint about Kimron and Starco.
So what do you suggest? Make love interests just for the sake of NOT getting them together, and still have them be best friends? After spending THREE SEASONS (4 in Starco's case) teasing and building their bond to become something more?
These arguments seems to always stem from "My ship didn't last/ not endgame!"
cough
KimGo is the superior pairing
Because some people are too dense and friendless to grasp the concept.
Season 4 it is, they keep pushing it while writing Ron as a retard.
Because they had female friends who had zero attraction towards them.
It didn't make me angry just disappointed. Ron went from a funny loser (but a good friend) to a star player God in the end for the sole reason to be worthy for the hand of Kim. Because he has to be better than the woman or the relationship is unbelievable. What I don't understand is why are people mad about the r34 meme where Ron bangs all the girls. It isn't far at all from what the creators did with him in one season.
While it is somewhat unbelievable Kim and Ron were childhood friends and Kim is known to not be able to make friends. She was always too occupied with school and job.
It's more like she hates Kim and Kim herself is a tough target for mockery, Ron is her weakspot as the less popular guy who associates with her.
Mocking Ron has proven to get under Kims skin, so he's just ammunition to Bonnie.
I wanted to be a millionaire after this episode to have Bon fawn over me.
Really? I HATED Shampoo when I was little, re-watched/read the series again last year (I don't hate her now); but I still like Ukyo (I just wish I knew why).
Ron should have KNOWN HIS PLACE as a nerd that doesn't act like a sexually aggresive chad. He's a nerd. A nerd DOESN'T get the girl. He makes a few funny quips, and then gets together with, I dunno, an alien, a robot, or slightly chubby black lady.
But she casually made friends with that stacked black chick in the span of just one episode. She showed up in like every third episode after that for the rest of the series.
Are you joking?
>It's still a controversial ship to this day
Maybe if your Rina fucking Cat maybe.
