I guess it is a little annoying how they changed the races/genders for no reason and probably won't give them crazy Jack Kirby looking costumes but I just don't give a straight fuck about this team or this movie.

I really don't understand Marvel/Feige's decision to take an indie/art-house director whose most recent film was a docudrama hybrid about a rodeo rider recovering from severe head trauma and have them direct an adaptation of a comic book.

My only guess is that they wanted the brownie points of hiring a Chinese-American female director.

Most MCU directors come from low budget indie backgrounds. The worst thing you could do though is get an indie director to do one of these and let them go hog wild on it which is what a certain other studio did and why there hasn't been a trailer for a certain movie that's out in a few months

I still wish the MCU and/or DCEU were director-driven rather than franchise- and lore-driven. GOTG and Aquaman's strengths were in that they let the directors go hog.
