How to make a good post apocalyptic cartoon?

Stand Still Stay Silent or YKK? Both have flashbacks, I believe. The last chapter of YKK made me sob like a baby, it's such a beautiful comic.

It depends on what kind of post-apocalyptic story you want to tell.
But if you want something like mad max then Samurai Jack is a good model. Possibly with self contained half season arcs instead of stand alone episodes.

That’s exactly what I was planning on doing. I was thinking about using adolescents as the main characters so I could explore the themes of growing up and change while growing up in a post apocalyptic wasteland. As the series goes on, the boys grow older/more mature, and the wasteland slowly but surly builds itself up to become more and more civilized with various factions and tribes fighting for power.

Flintstons did it right

Step 1: Make the main character a gene splice of Bruce Lee and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Give him a leather jacket and sweet shoulder pads.
Step 2: Replace guns with secret martial arts that make people's heads explode because guns are gay.
Step 3: Have manly tears
Step 4: Main character's brother should be Jesus, literal Jesus

Based on the best pieces of post-apocalypse media

>The main character needs to be likable and fleshed out, as do the supporting characters
>Take into account the practicality of the setting so that it holds up under scrutiny, but don't let it overtake the creative process or hinder the fun. If it sounds cool, put it in. You'll find a way to justify its presence
