Unsounded

Now with even more baby corpses.

I don't like the direction of those eyes

Also interesting that there might be lizards down here too, but if Cresce is up in this business then perhaps two toes have been brought into it

I love Will's face in panel 3 I can practically hear his brain break

So the foi-hellicks were in charge of mines or something? I thought they were more high class then that.

That's why they're so filthy rich in the first place, they owned the richest First Material mines in all of Alderode

>I thought they were more high class then that.
What's more high class than owning the materials for war machines

Speed reader

shit, the construct industry is small potatoes
think of how absolutely enormous the market is for pymarics, for vessels to hold aspects, spell slicing weapons, and prostheses. Virtually every part of Aldish, and broader Kasslynian society runs on First Materials in some form or another

True but given the quality of these materials putting them for war uses is best for their power

You're thinking like a Bell instead of a Beadman

Yeah and Bell is right

Bell is LITERALLY snake food

So we think

I'm so glad we have baby Will and his shenanigans to offset all the grim darkness.

So when are we going back to the present time?

we got a long way to go nigga

Then I got a long way to not read, because I lost interest in this past stuff a while back. Small doses it's fine, but we all know how this ends.

bye felicia

Ashley would probably say something like, "it was bound to happen, its a polarizing shift in tone and story, and please feel free to return once we come back to the present but know you'll miss some important things in this chapter."

I'm not Ashley, so my response is fuck you, nothing of value is lost if you cannot stay focused without Settes feet being in a shot every other page, dipshit

Claggart continues to be extremely based. And he's right about the Foi-Hellicks, they've probably encountered all manner of weird shit beneath the bowels of the Earth.

I appreciate how much this sounds like an actual company. Bickering, complaining about shit intel, and all.
And Claggart continues to grow on me. As well as Will. I wonder if we will see him lose his arm here, or some time far after this.

I got the feeling Will and Mikaila had known each other for some time, and the prosthetic seemed like a surprise to her. So I figured it was a more recent injury. Though I don't know how often Will would still be in the line of fire by that point in the story. Perhaps they just didn't know each other well enough or meet often enough for it to come up until he and Lemuel played their joke.

I'm liking how spooky this is seeming. Not just how it looks, but how Claggart essentially wonders if they dug too greedily and too deeply. There's always fun crazy shit to be found buried deep underground.

Let's just hope the old lore of him being the only former army mate to reply to Duane's letters isn't just a false hope of him making it through alive

lol, go fuck yourself.

Like hell.

So it was being born when it died

Senet beasts aren't born, they were created. That mountain ogre would have stayed a baby forever

So did duane's squad of plads actually die or are they still alive somewhere?

go back and check the scene again, they managed to get inside that chapel before the ground gave out. they'll still be surface level presuming they haven't gone down to look for Duane sensei

Uh no, all senet beasts were "made" in their current shape, they're sketches. But I wouldn't put it past the gods to have some Ogre mom with a baby half hanging out of her walking around.

So maybe. That doesn't look like a vag tho, I'm pretty sure Ash would draw a giant anatomically correct vadge if she wanted us to know what it was

Does make me wonder if the Gods "protoyped" reproduction with any of the Senet beasts before humans. I don't recall anything like that from the bestiary in the printed volumes. Reproduction is the kind of thing you can't really half measure, though of course I suppose the Gods could have, to the aforementioned ridiculous effects. I wonder if, like natural death, it was simply what made humanity unique from the beginning. Seems poetic enough. Birth and death, both inextricable from a species that is designed to change overtime.

though given how first materials often decay into regular matter, it could have been a formerly ogre vagoo that had become plain stone
of course, one could just ask ashley

I need my Tsun Claggart.

Looks more like a right hand to me

It's long confirmed that Duane "Never loses a lad"
But it was also confirmed that Jon gets to die of old age so we have no fucking idea.

>it was also confirmed that Jon gets to die of old age
Where? I kind of assumed Jon was gonna get it since he didn't technically count as a lad. The bit about never losing a lad was confirmed in the comic itself. Even with Duane's now explicitly faulty surface memories, I believe it would still be true. The truth was simply more complicated in that he was responsible for other bad calls. Just not necessarily specifically losing any children.

Sette is an artificial/unnatural sennet beast created by Ssael and bird-lady to see if they can defy fate/the gods/nature.

The guy worships a fat bust through which he thinks god talks to him, the viper has its fangs in deep.

those bloodborne ass crawling mushrooms are cute

It's going back quite a ways, but I think one of the beasts or maybe the black tongues mentioned a fascination with procreation, since this isn't how the gods create new life. It would be pretty fascinating if something you created started replicating in a way you can't comprehend.

How will Duane react to know he is travelling with the child of the messiah?

You really think the mad Florida woman would pass up the opportunity to draw a giant ogre vagina?

I wish Ash had the time/money to play the Souls games, Bloodborne in particular would be right up her alley.

Baby, I have played through all of them but DS3 and Demon Souls. I even borrowed my brother's PS4 for Sekiro recently. I have an Artorias figure glaring at me from beside my computer monitor.

Dark Souls is my fave and then Sekiro but Bloodborne is definitely a good time.

Old stuff from before the comic proper that we simply assumed to still be the canon in places
We were wrong

>that we simply assumed to still be the canon in places
Cope's been pretty clear that's nothing's really canon until it shows up in the comic proper. Somethings are probably more likely to still be canon than others, but still. Meanwhile, Duane's said in comic he never lost a lad. As self deluded as his memory was, I don't think he'd completely gloss over the lost of one of the actual child plats. Whether it really matters with Jon if he was a "lad" or not is very debatable, though. Duane paved over the severity of the mistakes he made in his mind to create a nicer fantasy about his war time exploits, which leads to the "never lost a lad" boast.

It's a nicely complicated situation, because Duane, for all his vanity, does have a humble streak. He hasn't liked that his war time exploits have propelled him into the upper echelons of his community nor does he consider the warfare itself to be all that rosy in the nitty gritty details. Obviously he'll extol the virtue and necessity of fighting to protect Alderode and combat Crescian imperialism, but he's been kind of regretful about the more violent aspects of this on the personal level. Yet even then, Duane has refused to really confront the aspects of his life that complicate that broader view of Alderode's morality. He's had a truly remarkable life, and encountered more than his fair share of the exhausting scope of Alderode's insanity. And yet he's still the truest patriot we've seen of pretty much anywhere. Again, it's to his credit he tends to ultimately come down on the side of justice in the personal details. But it never really seems to move his overall character any closer to an understanding of why these problems he keeps running into in Alderode exist. And that kind of denial is epitomized here. He'll realize what the specific problem was, maybe even decide to go against the grain or own up to it. But then it retreats into the recesses of his mind and the nice narrative of Alderode continues.

I think Ashley has retconned things in the comic too.

I distinctly remember the place the silver is headed to be "Port Gestorben", but when I checked again later it was changed to "Port Morstorben". Sneaky Ashley.

How are you gonna play 2 and not 3?

I only ever saw a vagrant like 2 times in all the hours I played

>that bottom panel

WHAT ARE YE DOING IN MAH SWAMP?!

That was Duane fucking the name up. 5 pages prior to this Sette calls it by its proper name.

Attached: ch11_23.jpg (600x900, 259K)

That wasn't a retcon so much as a typo that I later fixed, friend.

To the best of my recollection, there's never been any retcons, but as user up there said, only the comic and the side stories are canon. Any musings from Tumblr or formspring should kind of be thought of as process work. You wouldn't pull up a piece of concept art from a video game and accuse the studio of a retcon because it didn't match the final product, right? Same thing, I'd say.

I really wanna play 3 but I enjoy 2. Yeah, the bosses are samey and the map's disjointed, and the mechanics are a bit shit, but it has cool characters like Lucatiel and I liked the DLC a lot.

>"Port Gestorben", but when I checked again later it was changed to "Port Morstorben". Sneaky Ashley.

Huh, so that's why it stuck in my head as "Morgestorben"
