Could they ever go bankrupt?

It's 1986, user. Yes they're about to.

They've gotten close before and can again through bad management
Doesn't mean they will, but anything is possible in corporate

Only in a John Carpenter film

No, they own the banks.

they could always sell off some of their IP

We’ll be all dead before that happens

Either that or get bought up by a larger entity. No empire lasts forever.

Only if you don't buy their shit

Yes they could
0% chance they'll sell Oswald. He's legacy now that they are in Disney's hands

Quite the opposite. I can see them buy the planet mars and renaming that "The New DisneyWorld trademark"

Morally and creatively, they already did years ago.

i'm convinced they're trying

If they push the social engineering too hard it will hurt them

ESPN is in trouble right now, which could hurt them a lot. It's not Yea Forums related, but ESPN is massively important to Disney as a corporation because it's a large, steady stream of revenue, or it has been. If ESPN rolls over and dies because of cord cutting, that would be very bad news.

Yeah, and there is no way their own adaptions of Basil of Baker Street, Roger Rabbit, and Little Mermaid are gonna catch on well.

Only if the super hero fatigue sets in, the post-sequel Star Wars fails, run of things to remake, and their new IPs fail

the three caballeros will save them

They almost went under at least three times--first was in 1941 after Snow White and Fantasia cost more money than they made, in 1961 when Sleeping Beauty cost far more than it made and forced them to shut down their theatrical short division to save money, and third time was in the 70s when the company was a floundering mess after Walt's death.

Saving ESPN already killed Disney's game division. They just sacrificed the whole thing to cook the books into looking positive.

Sure.
Franchise fatigue, a string of box office bombs, Disney+ becomes a failure, a data breach exposes various accounts, a terrorist attack or some other catastrophe strike a Disney venue, and overall loss of consumer trust.
The company is pretty big so multiple things will have to happen to allow something like this to occur, as it almost happened, and Comcast attempted a hostile takeover over a decade ago. So it might not happen anytime soon, or in any of our lifetimes but it CAN happen.

That's kind of happening now, which is causing Disney to focus more on revenue from theme parks, which has become a more dependable source of revenue.

I don't think so, but I do foresee their reckless acquiring coming back to bite them eventually. LucasFilm, in particular.

Also they were almost taken over in 1984 and 2004

Lucas sold LucasFilm very cheaply for what it was worth, and Disney has already profited off it.

Would be based
The show versions though, not the DT version
