If you liked the raimi spider-man but not these 2 movies you are a dumb fuck and don't understand what made them good. They are the same movies.
Raimi esque
Raimi’s a filmmaker who makes complete and finished movies and has a distinct artistic style to how he shoots his films.
I don’t even remember who directed the Fantastic Four movies, but I can tell you they sure as hell haven’t made anything like Evil Dead 2 or Spider-Man 2.
the 1st one is okay, there's nothing really redeemable about the 2nd
Hey now! The man directed Shaft reboot!
Rather, if you like the Raimi movies you're just a nostalgiafag, these were all shit.
Thanks for your worthless input retard.
Raimi's a genius, the guy who directed those films is a hack. Not everything Raimi does works, but you have to admit he has a unique vision and style. I don't know what the FF director was even going for, it was forgettable as hell.
>They are the same movies.
Hardly.
Yeah. Raimi was a singular filmmaker with far more clout and control of his film than Tim Story had in the first one. Huh. I forgot he did the second one too.
I don't mean to slight him. If anything I think Story got sidelined by Fox. Tim Story did pretty much just Barbershop before Fantastic Four. He also did a remake of a French comedy with Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon. I can't help but think he was picked as a safe controllable choice because he wasn't as big a name as Rami. It sucks for him and it made the movies suck.
Plus, two different studios. As shitty as Sony is, especially with Amy Pascal, Fox might even be worse. At least then it was. They already messed up X-men thanks to idiots like Tom Rothman. He's the moron that said no one wanted to see Deadpool and refused to have sentinels in X-men because giant robots don't work in movies. This was the summer before Transformers came out. Funny enough, he left Fox in 2012 and ended up at Sony to plague them.
Plus... Jessica Alba. Holy hell. That was bad casting. I have been in love with her since I saw her on Flipper. (I was the same age, dammit! Don't call Chris Hansen.) Yet she just seems horribly miscast as sue. Trying to make her blonde haired and blue eyed was just off putting. She's beautiful as she is.
Reed and Ben were good. Evans as Johnny was okay. I wonder if he was typecast thought.
Doom was a fucking mess. They turned him into Donald Trump before it was the trendy thing to do. They didn't feel a dictator was topical. You know, just as we were invading Iraq to topple one. Never mind we had people like Milosevic in the Balkans not long ago. Plus they just gave him lightning powers or some shit.
I do think the Raimi films were overrated. They were still better than the FF mess at Fox. I'd say they've aged much better than Singer's black leather X-men movies.
They still have major problems as Spider-man films. Problems that Sony continues to get wrong. Well. Maybe not the same problems, but Sony still can't make a decent Spider-man film.
I remember a friend of mine somewhat hated the Raimi films when they came out, especially MJ. Funny because he's the one that got me into Evil Dead to begin with. He didn't like so many choices the studio made, like the Goblin design or organic shooters. In hindsight, he was right. At the time I was just happy they made a Spider-man movie.
MJ is the worst part of these movies. Her supposed exit in 4th was fucking funny and would have killed any potential future Peter/MJs in reboots.
Story still was a major creep to Alba. He deserves the blame.
Huh. Totally forgot those stories. Damn. No pun intended.
I would really love to know whose decision was whose on the Raimi films. Like for instance we know that Venom was inserted into SM3 because Avi Arad pushed for including Venom.
Really? That was my biggest problem with SM3, cramming too many villains in, with Venom feeling especially like an unnecessary overlay to the plot.
>with Venom feeling especially like an unnecessary overlay to the plot.
Maybe because Venom WAS an unnecessary overlay to the plot.
That's what I'm saying. When I watched the movie I kept thinking "this feels like it was just tacked on" and now he tells me that that's because it literally was tacked on by a dumbass studio exec.
Spider-Man 2 was more competent than these films, especially the second one.
>You know, just as we were invading Iraq to topple one. Never mind we had people like Milosevic in the Balkans not long ago
You do realize neither of these actual examples of dictatorship and you're just a retarded muricuck who believes everything he hears in the news, right
The US government and mainstream news media declared they were dictators. Are you saying the US government lied to us and covered up that they were the ones who put Saddam into power?! Nooooooo. Clearly Saddam was a dictator. The news said so. Therefore superhero movies should have matched the Pentagon approved narrative and had them fight a dictator.
Huh. I just thought of something. Saddam was known to have body doubles. We think we got him, but what if we didn't? What if we got one of the doubles and the real Saddam is alive somewhere releasing more chaos and misery upon the world?
I don't like any of them
>Eurocucks
Sadam 1. Gassed and killed Kurds, 2. Executed a portion of his own party by surprise, 3. Invaded another country, 4. Executed General who failed, and 5. Assembled the third (?) largest army in the world.
What the fuck is a dictator to you? The man had absolute power in Iraq.
He's drumpf
But Saddam was clever and deft at political maneuvering.
