He was transported into a human-like AU of Ooo where he eventually finds Simon's corpse with a crown on his head. Not knowing the crown was evil, he became mentally insane and destroyed the AU's world.

Haven't seen the show in a long time but this relates to an AU where Wirt becomes possessed by The Beast.
