Similar premise. Old hero coming out of retirement to attempt to correct past mistakes and recapture past glory in a world gone wrong.

It’s sad because this comic has some genuinely great moments

I'm sure it's possible to do an edgy Spidey comic without betraying the core spirit of Spider-man, Marvel Knights comes to mind as the closest example (keyword: closest)

Am I the only who thinks that the story is implying through spidey's costume's symbol, the 60's show's lyrics, inking tehnique that Reign!Peter that had his Ditko run mentality at least up until he met venom? It would explain why he cracked so badly to the point he fights the soldiers not because it's the right thing, but because they came to him, which could tie into the Ditko Peter mentality.

What happened in that one?

I love how desperate Marvel drones like to pretend its a classic OGN comparable to DKR or Killing Joke and not a creepy cuck story with killer semen

I fucking love this issue but that’s still so cringeworthy.

It's such a cheap imitation of TDKR that's it hard to ignore. The writing is so shoddy that JJJ is the Alfred stand-in. Even the art work couldn't even be it's own without the House of M bastardizing Miller and Klaus' work.
