Wow, she's so much smarter than that dumpy bitch, "princess leia".
That being said, I'm pretty sure a blockade runner's cannons aren't a strong enough weapon to punch through the hull of a star destroyer. That plate and shielding that protects it would be just as tough hitting it from the inside as anywhere else. Otherwise you would of have been seeing a lot more of that in the movies.
