Thanos with his double edged blade broke a vibranium shield like it was nothing. He overpowered mark 85 and a pissed of duel weilding Thor. If that same Thanos had already had his armour worn down and his weapon destroyed like when Carol fought him, then Tony Thor and Steve could have easily killed Thanos as well.

The point is that Wanda is the only person on the battlefield who could have disarmed Thanos and killed him by herself. Carol only looked good against a bare handed Thanos and still couldn't overpower him enough to take the glove away.

Thor also won a 1v1 with Thanos tho
and Marvel was winning, and without the stones thanos couldn't win

It would be interesting to know if Wanda being in the Doctor Strange sequel was always planned, or if they've chosen to start pushing her more because of how well received her scenes in IW and Endgame were.

The shot of Thanos being lifted into the air helplessly by Wanda did so much to cement her level of power in the MCU in my opinion.

I dunno, something about the angle, or maybe the way the music swelled, it was just awe-inspiring and made it feel like he was genuinely being outmatched by her, something I had never felt in either films.

Stormbreaker was designed with all the power of the bitfrost or some shit. It's somewhat possibly implied it's made of the same crap as the infinity gauntlet.

This does not make Thor necessarily on par with Thanos.

It simply means that Stormbreaker was able to beat through the force of the gauntlet when Thanos fired at him.

Probably. Remember how he nearly killed himself to create it and Eitri said that Thor needed the hammer? Once it was completed it leapt into Thor's hand and revived him. There's definitely a link there similar to how his hammer bestows all the powers of Thor, should one be worthy.

It's entirely possible that the link between the two means a reduced Thor otherwise reduces the axe too. Or perhaps more likely Thor was just unable to use it as effectively. Because someone being out of shape not being as effective with the same weapons they used when they were in great shape? No shit.
