Demon Slayer will be joining Toonami at an undetermined date this fall. It will likely replace either Super or Gundam.
Gen:lock will replace AoT this Saturday at 11:30. Good lordy what are they thinking
This week, we start Fire Force with almost zero promotion, and despite that, it had a fairly decent premiere performance, by today’s standards at least. Lupin managed to only be the 3rd lowest performer of the night, and the deathslot dream continues with MHA ranking as the 4th highest show of the night. Chad Clover seems to be getting its mojo back, with a big spike in viewership. Lastly, AoT managed an average of about 40% audience loss from Super. Will Gen:lock widen this gap further with its PowerPoint tier animation?
11:00 Dragon Ball Super 757 0.34 436
11:30 Attack on Titan 463 0.20 253
12:00a Fire Force (p) 388 0.17 217
12:30a Lupin the 3rd: Part 5 301 0.14 182
1:00a Food Wars 304 0.14 175
1:30a Black Clover (r) 346 0.17 215
2:00a Boruto: Naruto Next Generations 343 0.17 217
I just don't care for My Hero Academia. It runs into the same problem as other battle shonens in that it has too many characters, but too little time to develop them properly.
Dominic Bell
>hates mha for being a lackluster battle shonen >praises black clover At least be a fan of soft seinen like hunter x hunter
Blake Garcia
>MHA doing that well in the back
guys i think i know whats going to happen to super reruns
Kayden Smith
>netflix anything The guy who runs netflix wants cable to die
Leo Parker
His post didn’t mention Clover at all you schizo
Nathaniel Rogers
It won’t do that well as a rerun, neither will Super.
Isaac Thomas

Nolan Gray
>Food Wars getting a .3 boost >after a third straight week of gains Food and sex is the golden combo.
Jayden Price
It's quite believable. Back in 2015-2016, people were screeching TOONAMI IS FINISHED when One Piece was getting numbers DBS has now., what with the decline of cable, and the renaissance of anime streaming services.
Anthony Morgan
>fire force started with sideboob and a bathhouse episode at long last i have hope for too- >genlock oh back to being neutral about it
Jack Kelly
Tell me thats a mask.
Isaiah Reed
nah its from a plastic surgery thread in b
Adam Morales
Genshit is only 8 episodes. There’s zero implication the next season is coming anytime soon
Aiden Hall
>come on Toonami, it’s CURRENT YEAR, we should have more gay anime! >yea actually we tried lol Reminder that this is who is in charge of the block. Faggit is the most fitting nickname. What do you think those shows were meant to be?
The episodes will be edited to fit TV runtimes, so the count will be more than 8.
Camden Turner
Yuri on Ice and Dragon Maid.
Luke Turner
>manservice So not Dragon Maid
Jose Jackson
>Jojo >Fag x Fag >Dragonshit which mostly focuses on dudes >Demarco’s strict no tiddy rule only recently broken, likely by force >hurr Toonami doesn’t air enough gay stuff! God I hate these people. And I hate Demarco too for pandering to such a small minority
Cameron Williams
>Fire Force >show tiddy >big rating
>Food Wars >show tiddy >big rating
I’m seeing a pattern here
Aaron Diaz
What were the ratings for other shows with tiddies like KLK and AgK?
Julian Rodriguez
AgK holds the record high Toonami premiere at 1.8mil, which is also the second highest Toonami rating ever. KLK was between the 1.1-1.3mil range for most of its run. It struggled a little because it came right when half the block was shitcanned because it was doing so terrible
As a bonus, even Dimension W with its light fanservice did oddly well for what a mediocre show it was
Josiah Ross
I wanted to have sex with that robot and pull her tail
DeMarco's fists must be constantly clenching at the fact a fanservice show is getting a ratings boost every week while the ratings of his precious shonen keeps dropping.
Boogiepop on Toonami soon >Shows that appeal to women Boogiepop appeals to chuuni women. But I wonder how people would react to the fact that an explicitly gay character gets mindraped by a minor villain into being turned straight, gets a girflfriend and there's no closure to his arc after that.
Gen:Lock will be the second highest rating show on Toonami. Screencap this.
Eli Sullivan
maybe it was Free!
Easton Cooper
When are we going to get a yuri show on the block?
Sebastian Wood
>Why haven't you licensed any shows that appeal to women Wow, way to imply only men are allowed to enjoy action shows.
Nicholas Scott
why the fuck dont more studios focus more on toned women god damn
Jaxson Rogers
You spelled 'lowest' wrong faggot
Hunter Gutierrez
Women enjoy action shows?
Luke Wood
Women don't enjoy anything
Zachary Carter
I don't disagree with you but I'm waiting to see a bit more character development for her and the game meat girl on Food Wars before I make a final decision.
Leo Morgan
Did he ever give his opinion of the show?
Lucas Johnson
Yes.
Apparently they contacted his agent to get him to guest star, but never heard back.
>Black Clover is doing alright. The Mangaka is a total normie who's busy raising his kid. What does this have to do with anything?
>My Hero Academia is way too desperate to be the next Naruto What does this even fucking mean?
>. It runs into the same problem as other battle shonens in that it has too many characters, but too little time to develop them properly. Just so I can laugh at your stupid ass what shounen doesn't have this problem. This is really such a stock complaint anyways since the majority of stories don't develop every character and neither does every character going to get the same level of importance its especially ironic that you're spouting thsi garbage and defending BC.
Guess you're not even reading what you're criticizing then
Joseph Russell
Probably in the Fall.
Lucas Martinez
The thing is that the ratings would've been alot better if half the block wasn't shit and PTE never aired on Toonami.
Cooper Carter
I want to pull out her core to see her lifeless face
Evan Morales
Pink girl could be a prostitute, tell me I’m wrong
Jason Sanders
Considering it’s going to air second, the odds of that happening are pretty high. More importantly, it’s not an achievement, rather an expectation
Josiah Baker
>The thing is that the ratings would've been alot better if half the block wasn't shit You say this despite the fact that block reached its peak airing garbage like Akame Ga Kill in between reruns of OG Naruto, DBZ Kai etc.
Dylan Campbell
The quickest Viz dub thus far has been 7 months from the final episode. It’s gonna be next year
Women don't like Dragon ball, the guys are too muscular
Easton Morgan
Makes sense because of BDs
Jace Garcia
Alright I don't post often here on these type of threads but whom is that bearded man and why does he dislike toonami?
Brody Bennett
Jason Demarco, VP and Creative Director for on-air at Adult Swim, founder of Williams Street Records, and co-creator of Toonami. He's one of the people in charge of the block, and the most public face for it, so we blame all problems with the block on him.
Semi-related to Toonami but after reading vol.6 of Kimetsu no Yaiba:Demon Slayer, I can say with confidence that once it gets to the Spider Mountain arc it's gonna be the best long-runner on the block (until part 5). Might even be the best animated one as well since it's animated by UFOtable and it's doubtful Fire Force will keep up its production quality
Super into Titan: Lose 38.8% Titan into Fire: Lose 16.2% Fire into Lupin: Lose 22.4% Lupin into Food Wars: GAIN 1.0% Food Wars into Clover: GAIN 13.8% Clover into Boruto: Lose 0.9% Boruto into Naruto: Lose 17.5% How the mighty have fallen Naruto into Gundam: Lose 1.8% Gundam into Hero: GAIN 30.2%
>can say with confidence that once it gets to the Spider Mountain arc it's gonna be the best long-runner on the block (until part 5). Might even be the best animated one as well since it's animated by UFOtable
>Might even be the best animated one as well since it's animated by UFOtable Where does this meme even steam from?
Cooper Flores
DBZ and Nardo are gonna be popular regardless especially when streaming services weren't on the rise as it is now. It also had tons of waifus and actual fanservice compared to the current sausage fest that Toonami was a month ago but the way PTE fucked over the block was unbelievable but expected.
The ratings for DBS went from a million viewers to fucking 700K after that dogshit series premiered and it never recovered afterwards until now thanks to tits and ass. Now instead of bringing an even lewder series like Danmachi or Konosuba in, they fucked their consistency up once again with that gen:cuck bullshit.
Jose Clark
>Now instead of bringing an even lewder series like Danmachi or Konosuba in Thank fuck you're not incharge
Adam Moore
What is the competition even besides Food Wars and Fire Force? Dunno, but I've been seeing it for years
Luke Thompson
That's a damn shame. She initially caught my eye just during the final credits and every thing about her last episode had me wanting more.
Samuel Jenkins
So is the decline of Toonami ratings due to show choice alone? Because I think it’s more influenced by the decline of television in general, fueled by the convenience of internet streaming and people being fed up with advertisements.
That said, I will admit that some show choices make me confused. If Toonami has to show a Rooster Teeth series for self-promotion, why not the more popular RWBY? If Toonami wanted to get a series from Sentai, why Food Wars instead of, say, GATE or Ushio & Tora or Land of the Lustrous?
Brody Reyes
>Dunno, but I've been seeing it for years Literally every Ufotable TV series have collapsed in production and is filled with CG and filters and Kimetsu is no different.
Adrian Ross
>So is the decline of Toonami ratings due to show choice alone? No. Toonami has aired much worse shows on the block that got gooD ratings (Akame Ga Kill, Dimension W. Deadman Wonderland, GXP, Samurai 7)
>If Toonami has to show a Rooster Teeth series for self-promotion, why not the more popular RWBY? RWBY runtimes are inconsistent and wouldn't fit
>If Toonami wanted to get a series from Sentai, why Food Wars instead of, say, GATE or Ushio & Tora or Land of the Lustrous? Food Wars is more popular than any of those shows.
Lincoln Brooks
RWBY has irregular episode lengths and isn't suited for television broadcast. Food Wars was likely a last second pickup since those other two shows fell through. Probably because it's a Shonen Jump series and relatively long running.
Henry Scott
>He thinks he current block is better than this How does it feel being both gay and retarded at the same time?
Jeremiah Cruz
Yea how dare he suggest good content
Chase Perry
>good content >Isekai shit
Jason Morgan
Demarco would have a stroke if he had to see Hestia's big boobs or the floppy udders in KonoSuba.
Lincoln Reed
Show choice is part of the issue. Cable decline can only be blamed for why we don’t pull 1.4mil and up anymore. Toonami got stagnant as fuck in 2016, and only now opened up some slots. While it’s far from the old days, it does seem the fresh content is pulling the numbers in a positive direction.
They shouldn’t be airing ANY RT series. They all look like absolute ass, RWBY especially in its early seasons. Not to mention it’s irregular run time, even more so than Genshit. As for Food Wars, I really don’t see your problem. People want fun and tits. Food Wars has fun and tits and the ratings show people like it
Christopher Scott
>Demarco would have a stroke if he had to see Hestia's big boobs or the floppy udders in KonoSuba. Yet he's airing Fire Force...
>Toonami aired good shows >those got good ratings >Toonami airs bad trash with 600 episodes each >they flop AgK and Dimension W are masterpieces compared to garbage like Talk X Talk
Sebastian James
>While it’s far from the old days, it does seem the fresh content is pulling the numbers in a positive direction. Neverland, PTE, FLCL 2/3, Meglobox all flopped.
Jayden Gutierrez
>AgK and Dimension W are masterpieces compared to garbage like Talk X Talk Fuck no
Thomas Foster
All of which aired when the block was still fairly stagnant with the same old shit long runners. We finally give HxH and Jojo the boot, and interest in the block picks up a little
Food Wars too. Give the man’s heart a break dude, you know he didn’t choose to air either show. Shit, we know it based on that tweet saying he had more fag anime lined up
Justin Cook
>All of which aired when the block was still fairly stagnant with the same old shit long runners That's still the case dipshit
Grayson Miller
Am I supposed to be fapping or cooking after watching Food Wars?
Bentley Peterson
JoJo part 5 would be the perfect fag pandering show.
Easton Jackson
>conveniently leaves out the part of my post that proves that isn’t the case Retard
Chase Hughes
It was edgy, violent, had some cute girls, and pretty popular at the time. That's the kind of shit that brings in viewers. It was a good show for the block.
>SOME of the long runners leave I never said all of them dumbass.
Liam Powell
Show choices, overabundance of shonen shows, and lack of variety. But we have reached the point where only shonen shows do worth a damn from circumstances of the previous reasons, so shrug. They picked up Food Wars because HxH ended and they need an equally long shonen to take its pick. >Ushio and Tora This would have been fun since it's 90s as fuck and has good fanservice
It's clear Demarco doesn't watch these shows anymore. Just picks them based on their studios or some weird shit.
Aiden Clark
Soma is that one poorfag who knows how to make a good meal out of ingredients under a budget. His rivals are all probably Michelin Star level cooks.
Michael Thomas
>AgK >not good Look at these contrarians
Jack Parker
He lost two shows mere weeks before the shows they were meant to replace ended. So they had to do a rushjob to line up new replacements, so neither show was likely researched, especially Food Wars considering how anti fanservice he is. It’s just a bonus that the big anime tiddy shows are doing great, so maybe Manning will force more on since every Demarco pick (Lupin, gundam) is flopping big leage
Alexander Hall
He says defending a post making a contrarian statement itself about a series no one remembers being better than one of the most popular of all time since it's edgy and the girls are cute.
Sebastian Williams
How can one faggot succ so many cocks in a single lifetime? I know without a doubt Hestia and the amazon sluts would be able to save the fuck out of Toonami.
Justin Sanchez
These shows has always been around. It’s just Yea Forums and Yea Forums would rather sit and bitch about k-on throughout the decade until the studio burned down. Yea Forums would’ve never watched these shows unless with a toonami chaser with bumper ads and all
Blake Butler
I legitimately like Dimension W and even I know you're talking out your ass.
Angel Thompson
That might even give BC a better timeslot since Demarco has some autistic grudge against it when its one of the most popular series on the block.
I mean HxH is hot shit but its at least better than what he mentioned.
Jeremiah Jackson
Demarco is the kind of faggot you would see on Yea Forums still talking about how cool and awesome Madhouse while not knowing all the founds have died, left to create their own studios (M2,MAPPA) or freelance.
I can't tell which is worse, Demarco's clear bias or the block being decided by the whims of normies on Twitter and Facebook who don't even tune in.
Cooper Price
RIP sadpanda
Elijah Lee
That is a lot more chest meat than their tops typically imply
Aaron Reed
The upper arm boob squish always gives the illusion of a size increase. Lewd and approved
Dylan Harris
are Demarco and funimation having a fight?
Luis Young
>the block being decided by the whims of normies on Twitter and Facebook who don't even tune in. On a related note: ask.fm/Clarknova/answers/155522119145 >What do you think are currently the top most requested shows for Toonami?
>Honestly at this point we are showing just about everything people are asking for, believe it or not! We’ve had a decent amount of requests for Dr. Stone, as well as Mob Psycho S2, One Punch S2, Jojo S5. In terms of “new” titles though, not that many requests beyond what we already have. But we are always open to suggestions so please keep em comin!
Oliver Evans
>Implying these shows aren't Executive picks out of DeMarco's control.
Jayden Adams
Did you pray to the Water god before turning off that stove top fire for your eggs anons?
Chase Davis
Why did MHA cut into a filler with a cliff hanger ending only to go back to the regular episodes
Jayden Torres
Fire Force is one of the hottest shows this season. Since only two episodes had aired by the time he made the deal and no way he reads it, he probably has no idea how fanservice-y it will be. Not really like that matters, this was picked purely on potential popularity and I can't fault him for that.
It was an advertisement for the movie. The cliffhanger leads right into the movie.
Jacob Bennett
>In terms of “new” titles though, not that many requests beyond what we already have. But we are always open to suggestions so please keep em comin! I was hoping someone was gonna mention this, since I wanted to ask where the hell are people making requests at? But from those shows mentioned I can guess that they looked mainly at Twitter, Resetera, and Reddit since those are the shows that I see constantly brought up there.
Camden Reed
I bet you that faggot wants Yuri on Ice
Dylan Moore
>Girls don’t like action shows
Jaxson Wood
hi Demarco
Dominic Morris
People mostly send him requests on Twitter and to his Ask account. They also used to accept requests on Tumblr until they abandoned that.
Brayden Flores
it got popular because of the Kyoani tragedy and that was mostly over speculating if it would be canceled or delayed. People were expecting a "Nice Boat" incident
Leo Perry
Just air K . It has action and it has faggot tones.
A solid night, especially compared to last week. When will Black Clover get that promotion? Interesting that MHA beat BC despite airing way later. Oh well, I'll take it since it's gone in like a month. Great job for Fire Force; I think it had a stronger start than TPN? Anyway, looks like we're out of the danger zone since aside from (probably) Gen:Lock, Demarco isn't complete shit when his feet is put to the fire.
Jeremiah Brooks
I'd say it was popular before then with some decent hype before it aired, although the tragedy did give it a lot more attention.
Owen Walker
the genlock promos are not inspiring me to watch
William Martin
For some reason I hated the MHA anime but really liked the manga (which I didn't read until after I'd seen two seasons of the anime). It moves along much faster and feels less like "Naruto for zoomers" than the anime does.
Josiah Green
So just shoot him a tweet or question about a show you would like to see? Weird but interesting to know, at least it would be good to let my voice be heard somewhere, thanks.
Hudson Clark
>wow can you believe it most of the requests we get are for sequels haha No shit dumbass, what new shows are people asking for? Don’t even know why they field requests for sequels since they get them regardless
Ian Ward
>what new shows are people asking for? Vinland Saga's probably one of them, going off the fact that the last time he revealed what's popular amongst requests there was Banana Fish of all things. Also Lupin the Third Part 5 was mentioned too, so some of these are probably his personal wants and not actual requests.
Ayden Ward
Banana Fish, which is an Amazon exclusive like Vinland Saga
Elijah Turner
>Banana Fish Maybe that was one of the gay shows he lost. Joking, but wasn't it an Amazon show? I know Vinland Saga is. I don't believe those are dubbed so we'll never get them.
It isNeither of them are dubbed, yet. But Land of the Lustrous, and Princess Principal both Prime shows are both dubbed by Sentai so maybe Banana Fish and certainly Vinland Saga will receive one.
Oliver Watson
>I'd say it was popular before then Nobody gave a shit about Fire Force until very recently as a month ago when the first episode aired even though the manga has been running for four years now.
Lincoln Cook
>Where does this meme even steam from? >Dunno, but I've been seeing it for years People watched Fate/Zero and confused gradients and adobe after effects with with good animation. I've had someone tell me that scene where Saber charges up her attack while standing perfectly still is well animated and not DBZ level.
Austin Roberts
Banana Fish would certainly fit the bill given it got a big push from Viz, and falls into that nebulous crime drama sphere some Toonami shows fall into.
Hunter Diaz
The longest episode is only 31 minutes, with the rest being 24 minutes or so. There won't be more episodes made from cut footage
Jackson Richardson
Yea i remember that and I still feel like that was his personal list so he could justify getting Lupin again even though Toonami fans hate it
Luke Allen
>People watched Fate/Zero and confused gradients and adobe after effects with with good animation. Which is funny since that actually had production trouble as it went on.
Ryan Morales
It’s still the hottest anime of the season, even though a lot of that is fueled by aggressive shilling for the anime done by the studio
Kayden Hill
It's really just the decline of cable and the fact that an old model T like Toonami can't compete with services that get episodes the same day as Japan
Zachary Roberts
>Demarco is against titties but would be all for a homo anime where the MC gets raped every other episode I could see it happening.
Jace Foster
I honestly wish I could watch Toonami with you guys all the way. I grew up with the late 2000s era(Bad taste, i know) where they showed Funimaton One Piece, Naruto, Samurai Jack and Blue Dragon. I was there for the comeback, and sat through Bleach, Deadman Wonderland, Soul Eater, FMA Brotherhood, and Cashern Sins. But by 2015, saturday nights became homework and personal work time. Nowadays I always stay for the 1st 2 shows and record the ones I wanna watch, but I gotta sleep afterwards, I work Sundays.
How does it feel to be watching this till 2am-4am?
Would blood blockade battlefront be a good fit for toonami. And couldn't they set up some kind of simulcast deal with a studio so that they could get actual new episodes
John Murphy
Check 'em. BBB would be the prefect fit for Toonami/Adult Swim but we never got it cuz y'know. >And couldn't they set up some kind of simulcast deal with a studio so that they could get actual new episodes That would cost money AS doesn't have to spend.
Bentley Flores
There are only two seasons with no word of a third one, and even if there were simuldubbing is an incredibly arduous process. Plus Funimation holds those rights and there's zero reason to jump through that hoop when Hulu has first dibs anyway
>How does it feel to be watching this till 2am-4am?
I'll be honest with you. It's not always the rollercoaster of thrills it used to be. Sometimes it's an outright slog depending on what episodes of which shows air in tandem. Sometimes the night goes by so fast that by the time 4am hits, I've barely cracked open my party soda before "LATER" pops up.
I can tell you that the general sense of completion and satisfaction on the best nights is second only to the nostalgia of staying up all the way through the Midnight Run.
Why does he have that look on his face from making contact with something so flat?
Jose Reyes
Ya know how sometimes you go.downstairs at night to pee in the sink because your gf says if it's yellow let it mellow but it's been like five days and disturbing the water makes you dizzy and on your way downstairs you miss the last step thinking there was one more? That's the face
Julian Brown
>too bad we never got a rerun of Season 2. We did, last summer.
Jason Rogers
>It's already been a year since the RERUN Oh God it's happening again. I've lost my sense of everything. I was supposed to go into work 3 years ago.
Funi has more pull with other industries and thanks to Dragon Ball being 60% of their profit. Which they might stand to lose if they keep this drama with Vic mignona up.
>always skip Super >they put Genlock right behind it so I can skip that too >MHA probably won’t be replaced by something new, or at least not that late so I can skip the last two hours of the block soon Nice
The good thing about GenLock placement is that I usually get off work around 11 on Saturday so aside from Super I can still catch all the good shows.
Anthony Brooks
I've noticed that you're here all the time and only defend MHA whenever someone complains. How about you go back to Yea Forums and never return? >This is really such a stock complaint anyways Not really? Talking solely about MHA and being a manga reader, I can tell you that the only people who matter in this series are Deku, Bakugou, Todoroki, Shigaraki, All Might, and Toga. There's no irony going on, it's truth.
Jason Price
Super isn’t a good show so it sounds like you are all set
Nathaniel Cook
>schedule changes slow down >these threads slow down Hmm
Jacob Mitchell
Well everything new has been discussed already
Joseph Clark
Did all her INT go to her ass?
Angel Bell
I haven't visited one of these threads in a while. It's nice to know things are still as fun around here (and filled with arguing) as ever.
Food wars is the lowest in demo. It's a failure that only drew the underage audient
Easton Stewart
Honestly I figure it's a way for toonami to stay relevant
Owen Hill
That is closure to his arc.
Tyler Richardson
It has nothing to do with Toonami. They don’t have the swing to push other distributors to simuldub, and for the work involved, Funi prefers to keep the ones they do for their service. That said, they seem to be ok with giving Toonami a delayed release like we see with Fire Force and Black Clover. It’s only by a bit of unfortunate luck that Toonami got Fire Force so close to the dub release. A gain that will be lost come Labor Day
Adrian Ross
Doesn't hurt that the OP and ED are pure fucking ear-sex.
Eli Thompson
Yeah, I know. Speaking from a hypothetical viewpoint some people who would get upset by that probably wouldn't realize it though.
The second one, its not uncommon for shows to be delayed because of things like the kyoani fire.
Jose Sanders
Yeah, it was delayed because it would be insensitive. KyoAni has nothing to do with Fire Force, they just usually do stuff like this after tragedies especially do for Fire Force because of the subject matter. Apparently episodes going forward will be censored in some way too unfortunately. Episode 3 seemed like it had some changes done to it, and we could tell the ED was censored.
Staying up late to watch television is pretty boring. Networks have convinced themselves that streaming is the future, but none of them have been able to understand how to market these shows. Toonami is bad about it because they keep airing anime like Boruto or MHA, both of which do better in the mornings or days, as 2am.
Asher Lopez
For what purpose would a fire outfit have hip windows?
Julian Roberts
For her tails
Christopher Evans
Demarco can’t argue with the ratings. Fanservice has proven it can pay
Lucas Campbell
The japs are a bunch of pansy bitches
Julian Long
US has done it before too, in fact toonami did it after 9/11 by canceling the original gundam series.
Luis Flores
Nah I get that I don't know what kind of shows kyoani does t.bh
That's bs the whole show is about fighting people on fire
Dylan Nelson
It's just a really unfortunate coincidence, and Fire Force will get fucked because of it. I hope the whole rest of the season isn't censored, but we'll see. Probably since it not only was a tragedy in it's own right, but it affected another respected studio in the industry, they want to be respectful.
That was different, 3000 people died in a terror attack
Jaxon Morris
>only fucking wednesday
Blake Walker
>Which they might stand to lose if they keep this drama with Vic mignona up. Is there any actual proof of this
Christopher Sanchez
Beating Lupin doesn’t exactly prove much, even Gundam is managing to do that. But I’m pleased to see Food Wars is doing relatively well.
Joseph Collins
I'm just not feeling Blue Jacket Lupin. I grew up on Red Jacket and liking the episode story plots being self contained. To me, Lupin gets bad when they add an arc.
Julian Robinson
I guess it would've been too much to just blank the scene outright instead of adding a lazy bar to the top?
Jacob Gutierrez
Better than what's on Toonami right now.
Thomas Hill
fucking saturday seems so far away
Julian Brown
>I've had someone tell me that scene where Saber charges up her attack while standing perfectly still is well animated and not DBZ level. So you haven't seen it
Ian Torres
They can't air something like this on TV because there's a chance survivors or the families of the deceased will see it and cause them emotional pain. This is especially the case since the victims were in the anime industry, it's increasingly likely they will be exposed to Fire Force by chance.
Japan has pulled episodes completely for less than this, David Pro must really want this anime to succeed.
Chase Anderson
It was fucking 30 people and it's an anime about fire. I don't recall NCIS going on hiatus or getting censored when the Vegas shooting happened. Shit is retarded. Let's just censor all cooking shows and can't have any more sirens on emergency vehicles because it might trigger some poor fuck
Angel Clark
Either that or they're mistakenly remembering the DEEN version.
Ryan Morales
35 people dead, many more injured, the number of bereaved people is in the hundreds. And again, this is a tragedy that specifically hit the anime industry, so all those people are far more likely to see Fire Force, hence the consideration. Americans make a big show about sympathy but ultimately don't really care about others. Japan is a conscientious culture.
Jaxson Jenkins
Gaaaaaaay
Nolan Davis
Lol what a load of bs
Isaac Gonzalez
This weeks numbers weren’t exactly a blowout, but the last two weeks were. It’s doing oddly well for something not about throwing punches and screaming
Nolan Peterson
Episodes have been pulled never to air on TV due to incidents like this in the past. Japan puts the public's interest first.
Julian Jackson
Dumb dragontard. Super is the worst written and worst animated show on the block until this Saturday when Genlock starts
Carter Jones
Sounds like America is the Chad and Japan is the virgin
Lincoln Hall
That shit happens everywhere. I was commenting on the fact that America lives rent free in your head and you resort to making up bs about it.
Camden Rivera
>All of these newfag ironic weebs in the thread today. They didn't air School Days for week(s?) because of a student murder (Nice Boat) CLAMP still wouldn't finish X because of an earthquake. And those old crone fujoshi fucks never backed down from the violence criticism they got from every direction.
I think its to keep the anime apart from.. side quests
Jaxson Howard
>side quests Care to elaborate? I think I have an idea of what you're trying to say, but I'm not entirely sure.
Evan Long
i dunno how else to explain it. side stories away from the main story? too much for one episode, too little for an arc?
Ayden Cruz
Okay, but what does this have to do with whatever was talking about? I don't see the connection.
Matthew Butler
im ganna go fap,
Mason Green
I don;t recall asking anything where that would make sense as a response. Unless you get off on giant sharks and asians in bikinis.
Aaron Hill
>happy that ratings threads is back >realize not much to talk about >cant even think of anything to force a conversation >realize this is how many friendships i had end this way alcohol binds us and now titties
Brody Cook
It feels like a chore but I do it because I dont want to miss out on /tg/
Jonathan King
Lets talk about titties. Who has the best titties on the block?
Not that user but there is never a time I don't want to discuss titties. It'd probably be either someone from Food Wars or Fujiko. In Fujiko's case one of the most focused on aspects of her character has always been attention to her breast size, even her name is a pun about them. Although so far Food Wars has had breast fanservice more than Lupin but that isn't hard when it happens every time someone eats food. I really can't choose, is good too.
On the Food Wars and Fujiko topic, I think that it comes down to what you're into at the time. Sometimes it's about the nudity which you get mostly in FW, sometimes it's about them being covered up (normal shirt, shirt with lots of cleavage, bra, etc). Also maybe sometimes you're into ones that slope a little, not exactly saggy but less circle based and more lengthy. An example would be pic related. They could be a bit longer and still look great.
all because they'll edit a show airing? Get the physicals or pirate them when they get ripped if that upsets you so much, snowflake.
Christian Sanchez
>laptop arrives in a week >sadpanda is perma down and some doujins are lost forever so fapping during naruto hour doesnt even matter anymore
Should have built a PC, damn it.
Ryan Peterson
My favorites were off of Sadpanda and on its clone sites and other sources anyway, but it sucks that people lost theirs and of course in general all that data. The good news is its expected to come back one day. Runner said something along the lines of wanting to give it to someone or at least have all the data given to make a clone. I already can't remember but that was the gist of it, things might be ok but it'll take some time.
Let this be a lesson and if you have enough privacy, store your naughties offline. Take precautions.
Jonathan Kelly
I made the mistake of grouping the saving porn meme with the purchasing porn meme. Won't do that again.
Brayden Sullivan
I see, well I've also heard a rumor you can pay like 20 dollars and have access to stuff that was on the server but I never looked into it. People's favortes/bookmarks were still active after the shutdown so that seems to imply it? I'll just wait until a backup is made of the site, I'm not hurting for anything personally, and I'm not paying for it.
Noah Watson
Anyone notice that weird Hobbs and Shaw animated trailer? Movie looks like shit but I thought it was interesting that they have an animated trailer. Has an adult swim bumper vibe. I notice it during FG and AD background noise.
Jacob Reed
Yeah I they are pretty great, they shape is very appealing.
Her breasts really do take your mind away from typing straight sometimes.
Ryan Lopez
No thats just lack of sleep
Asher Torres
AS has been doing those little movie animation promos for years
Thomas Cooper
Any other examples? Maybe I can try and remember them.
Nathaniel Williams
>cable literally died 5 minutes ago here in maine welp folks its been quite a ride
Mason Howard
like what cable isnt a thing now or yours fucked up?
Landon Jones
fucked up
Evan Mitchell
good luck user
Colton Walker
Like every FnF movie since 5 or 6
Brody Richardson
The [as] bumpers are so shitty, they keep showing that magical girl anime shit one.
Noah Rivera
>be 30yo boomer who got into anime through TV dubs like pizza cats, ronin warriors and gundam wing >don't even watch dubs anymore >see toonami devolving into diversity faggotry >tfw nu voltron is only a matter of time
I dvr super because it's the only fast paced action-heavy show on the block that doesn't waste time on senseless exposition or sol drama, but that's just because I want something to watch while chugging muh dorito dew soup.
Tbqh I've already watched the sub of everything I'd be interested in, and nothing comes across as something wacky and meme worthy enough that I'd re-watch it in English. There's no more Wings, G Gundams or Dragon Balls in Japan (aside from dragon ball itself), and the fact that everything being made takes itself super duper seriously only makes the dub that much more cringe.
tldr Toriyama is pretty much the McFarlane of Toonami and Super is basically the only thing keeping this failed normo block afloat. Rather than fun cult classics they're just airing unproven seasonal garbage. It's actually surprising anyone still watches 2nu4mi with a lineup this bad that's only getting worse.
Daily reminder that only prime time Bobobo can save the block from its suffering.
Ethan Garcia
Wing is fucking trash
Zachary Barnes
>Super >fast paced and action heavy I wanted to call you a baiter, but then I remember this is the brain of the typical dragontard. And no, Super isn’t keeping the block alive. If anything, it’s the biggest thing holding it down, because of retards like you that only watch Dragonshit. It’s been proven time and again that it doesn’t matter where they put Super, the retard normies flock to it, and leave immediately. It doesn’t benefit the shows around it at all.
Pretty sure Voltron is Netflix, which means it will never see cable
Caleb Lewis
>Pretty sure Voltron is Netflix, which means it will never see cable Bojack got on Comedy Central but I still don't see voltron happening.
Ryder Martin
take a look at the ratings of the rest of cartoon network. toonami performs as good or better than average CN cartoon and it's a late night block.
Carter Richardson
>and Toga You were fine up until this point.
Hunter Lewis
>Interesting that MHA beat BC despite airing way later. It beat everything below the 11:30 slot while it had the "deathslot," literally 3rd most watched on that list.
How is Dragon shit holding the block down? Outside of Toonami, Kai and Super Reruns only averages about 300k viewers each Saturday.
Charles Edwards
Because the entire block is built around catering to Dragontards, despite the fact that the moment Super is over, they turn the TV off
Jose Sanders
i didnt get this scene
Jose Anderson
The one on the left is trying to hit the one on the right but she keeps on missing because she has poor depth perception.
Hudson Myers
How do we make Lupin cool and hip for the new generation??? We already made internet and drones and cool cute hacker girl happen but still no one watches!
John Sanchez
Have him get sued for sexual harassment
James Powell
Make him a violent rapist again like Monkey Punch intended.
Leo Perez
We don’t. Lupin is and always will be shit >make cute hacker girl >send her away 5 episodes in
James Reyes
Pretty sure they tease stuff like this with Fujiko every so often but they still fall back on his lust for her being a gag. Japan isn't as heavy about that shit as America is.
Alexander Williams
she comes back and fujiko does things to her
Benjamin Diaz
You have my attention
Ryder Brown
Give me a single reason to tune in for Genlock. Keep in mind I skip Super, so it’s a very appealing 1 hour start delay for me Hard mode: don’t cite these threads or “shit on it with us” as a reason
Jonathan Kelly
Lupin is too adult for mainstream anime viewers to handle. The current generation just doesn't want to be like Lupin.
Original Lupin was a take what he wants kind of guy, not an outright rapist.
Parker Phillips
Why not rerun Inuyasha? It's the only anime that still holds up visually and made for watching at late nights.
Justin Hernandez
>you were in the last movie, i want a turn! i hope this sub is a joke because if tsuyu breaks the 4th wall thats just too much for me
Josiah James
Real Talk. There is ZERO reason for you to tune in. Just skip it. It js easily the worst thing to have been put on the block EVER. Now just let that objective fact sink in a bit. Worst. Ever.
Joseph Thomas
Give Lupin a colorful talking dog that raps. Make Jigen black. Make Fujiko FAT and have short pink hair. Goemon stays the same except he's a girl a now. Lupin is now gay also.
Juan Ramirez
Japan respects Lupin too much to do that. He's always been popular in Europe than America. Amerilards can't tolerate Lupin's brand of jazz.
Jayden Wright
Because all reruns are shit and ratings pits. If AS is gonna spend money, spend it on something new
James Richardson
When was the last time they played that?
Levi Watson
2014 when they lost the rights. Then they played Final Act in 2015
Cameron Allen
Sister is literally Patty
Kayden Phillips
AS is already losing money trying to appeal to niche audiences with their low budget, high dialogue shows. They need anime for when they lose the rights to Family Guy, American Dad, and Bobs Burgers.
Squidbillies and Mike Tyson Mysteries alone can't save AS.
Kevin Richardson
man what if we dont get the hour back this year when we lose it in the fall?
Sebastian Gomez
So what will everybody be doing while Gen:lock is airing?
Dominic King
Fappin
Austin Bailey
cant freestyle fap anymore because of the dutch might get too hot this saturday to pull out ryuko too early to start drinking too early to start something else not much one can do with 30 minutes might just have to bite the bullet and just shitpost
we already got COOL AND HIP Lupin, it was called Mine Fujiko.
Hunter Bailey
Will it dip below the 100k mark or will morbid curiosity win out?
Parker Morgan
i hope it fails because if it does good this will lead to more western animation and before ya know it toonami will get remade and take on a calarts type of deal anything from TOM/SARA voice actor changes to shit.. steven universe marathons and.. oh god
Parker Murphy
They just need him to do something similar to tournament arcs battling people physically. I'd take it if it meant Fujiko using her breasts as shields.
James Morales
Wageslaving, or browsing my phone if I'm off on Saturday
On one hand, annually losing the hour to Cartoon Network this year might be a permanent deal this time
On the other hand, CN does not have that much to fill the space with other than more gumball reruns
cable is dying and i still dont like change
Thomas Mitchell
Remember he wasn't opposed to the idea of Adventure Time being added.
Austin Martinez
great now i have to sit through that whole "i gatta get laid" 2 or 3 season phase he went through
fucking god damn
Jose Parker
They can’t lose American Dad
Gavin Sullivan
Being next to Super will prevent that. At best we are going to see a sharp upswing for Lupin
Kayden Robinson
Gumball reruns are more than AS has to offer the time. Really, AS should have never started that early
Easton Williams
I have a feeling the put it next to Super specifically for this reason >woah genlock lost a ton of viewers >yea just like every show after Super :^) Plus having Lupin right after it means there likely won’t be a sharp upswing of viewers when it ends either. It’s the perfect guise for a shit show
Nathan Davis
>more gumball reruns It's just the same shitty Craig, Victor, Summer Camp, TDD, TTG, and Gumball every day. Such an awful channel.
Thomas Gomez
Remember when Adult Swim aired adventure time for barely a week and then went back to Jack?
Gavin Cox
I thought it was a bit over a week but yea, because I remember it being a hard sign of CN's preschool shit that fucking AT was given to adult swim.
Adult Swim will most likely give Toonami back it's hour. Lazzo is too retarded to admit he burned bridges with so many people except for the Venture Bros creators. He could save himself by airing Metalocalypse.
Wyatt Barnes
>if Gen:lock doesn't crash and burn we might get more western shit on the block The horror.
Jackson Morris
>inb4 watching gen:LOCK I record the block every night, so I'll probably be sleeping.
Austin Harris
Imagine a world where tom and sara are drawn by calarts and voiced by the kid who did adventure times blonde kid and the girl who voices raven in ttg
the shows lineup samurai jack dexters lab eee courage after midnight and ending the night with the TBS american dad episodes
that is the future if genlock does well
Parker Hughes
>give Toonami more time when it’s barely treading water as is They gave it more time last year and they couldn’t fill it with anything
Benjamin Nelson
As much as it pains me to say it, Genlock is close to the top tier of current western action titles that could air on Toonami. That’s not because it’s good, that’s because that pool of shows is so incredibly small.
Western action is dead and Toonami is just poking a rotting corpse trying to bring it back
Lincoln Mitchell
Sounds like CCF in a timeline where standards were looser about content..
Grayson Reyes
This. Toonami didn’t stop airing western shit for any other reason other than there wasn’t any to air. At worst we get another season of Genlock, but based on shit performers like Jojo and Gundam getting more seasons, it doesn’t matter how bad something does, we will get the sequel anyway
Elijah Flores
Reminder Genlock was supposed to be at midnight according to the website but it changed.
Isaac Thompson
>Genlock is close to the top tier of current western action titles that could air on Toonami
why pair with rooster teeth when we could pair with dc universe?
Daniel Price
I would be x100 more ok with genlock if it was on adult swim and not toonami
Andrew Howard
I don't want cancer to exist at all.
Gavin Edwards
And what does DC have that they can show?
William Rodriguez
the new young justice the new harley quinn show the new deathstroke show the fuckton of animated movies that came out in the last 5 years anything dcau
Mason Hernandez
>shit >shit >haven't seen it but probably shit >movies don't get regular play
Luke Anderson
None of which can air on Toonami
Logan Price
Thank Fire Force for that. I prefer it this way, makes the first hour of the block an easy skip.
Schedule knowledge has been pretty spotty lately. Just a few weeks back we had Demarco insisting Gundam was at 1am. Likely where it was expected to air before the people with a brain remembered Gundam is ratings toxin
Evan Rivera
it's all warner. if the big wigs wanted it on toonami, it'd be on toonami
instead they chose to cross promote rooster teeth
Gabriel Wright
>cross promote rooster teeth Rooster Teeth is owned by Warner and guess what they want on Toonami.
William Collins
DC is owned by Warner
Carter Jones
Yes and Warner wants Rooster Teeth stuff on Toonami and not DC.
James Martin
That’s the point. They DONT want that stuff on Toonami
Nolan Williams
saying warner wants RT on toonami right now is a hell of a lot different than saying DC stuff CANT air on toonami
Wyatt Hall
Yes we can get DC stuff but, Young Justice and Harley Quinn is on DC Universe and they want people to use that. Deathstroke is going on CW Toonami doesn't do movie nights unless it's for a special occasion like April Fools. Old shows get shit ratings.
Lucas Hernandez
Trying to be cool and hip is exactly the problem, Lupin is supposed to be goofy and ridiculous.
Zachary Stewart
>don’t cite these threads or “shit on it with us” as a reason I'm afraid I can't help you then, that's the only reason I watch toonami at all these days.
>Same studio >The OP and EDs especially feel very Bleach-esque >The last arc in the manga has been described as taking after Bleach for all the wrong reasons I don't see why not, plus it's the perfect parallel to MHA being the spiritual successor to Naruto.
Lincoln Robinson
It certainly looks nice.
Evan Davis
Because it’s fuckin old and it already aired on ASA
Samuel Reed
Kinda slice of life where shit gets real and one of the coolest raids done in an isekai.
Looks like shit, if we are getting isekai, at least get us a good one like Re Zero or Konosuba
Dominic Powell
It flopped so hard the first time it aired on ASA that they moved premieres from midnight to 5am.
Eli Miller
I thought that Grimgar was a guaranteed pick for the block a couple years back but look how that turned out. I think it would be a good show though, since I would describe it as having the realism of Goblin Slayer but less edge and rape but 50% more angst and feels.
Andrew Robinson
Demarco completely avoids the isekai fad for some reason. Doubt we'll get any at all.
Jackson James
adult swim is airing that pepe robot chicken sketch
Gabriel Morris
Just realized that our Papenbrook supply is getting low
Josiah Adams
>The last arc in the manga has been described as taking after Bleach for all the wrong reasons by who
Ryder Reed
What about SAO?
Easton Nelson
anyone else scared to shitpost on thursday-saturday to not get banned for toonami night?
last week I was banned for 6 days for posting loli and I missed the Sad Panda threads
Samuel Morris
Good. It never feels like we get him in moderation. We either have him in 3-4 shows at once or not at all. I wish we got some shows where he at least tried doing a different voice like Blood Lad
>cable has been glitchy again >thought it was fixed >lasted about 3 weeks now it's as bad as ever Hopefully it'll just glitch during gen lock. God I hate this. I just need to suck it up and cut the cord. Though I'm afraid streaming would also be glitchy because the internet here is shit unless you pay out the ass for fiber.
Andrew Long
testing out my new onahole
Grayson Rivera
Mods that give out global bans for posting off topic are faggots.
Hudson Morris
now that ya mention it i dont remember the last time i got a local ban
Jacob Reyes
It's a very derivative genre. Toonami should get ahead of the curve and jump on the Urban Fantasy LN train with series like Boogiepop, Fate, and Certain Magical Index
Shit, you're right. Probably, I know he drew it during the broadcast of the new series
Jose Rodriguez
But you never know, it could always make a comeback*
Jose Flores
>source: dude trust me
Asher Brooks
Unlike One Flop, it was one of the most popular series on Toonami. Don't even get me started on the filler actually being good compared to the entirety of Nardo
Wyatt Richardson
Bleach's filler is so bad it's entertaining
Ian Morris
Besides the Bount and Amagai filler you're basically shitposting at this point
Lucas Richardson
Exhentai.org It’s back
Colton Reyes
How do I get passed the bowing girls?
David Gomez
Nevermind thank you for letting me know, it'd have went right by me. Is this the entire database, is there anything missing?
It's been proven that the executive in charge of adult swim at the time hated anime so he fucked with the timing of the show
Benjamin Baker
it'd be real silly if this thread kept on truckin till tomorrow
Tyler Cruz
Well it might
Mason King
So why the fuck did the chimera ants suddenly go from evil deadly creatures that needed to be stopped to suddenly being friendly and alright with humans?
Just curious, what's your ideal lineup? The ones we had in recent years leave a lot to be desired desu.
David Young
Is their a new way to access it or is it the same
Aaron Adams
minus genlock i really like the new lineup
Super is new to me titan has been a solid ride after the whole humans v humans bit got over and done with food wars is unexpected goodness that balances out parody, titties and food porn always liked lupin fire force started off strong with a partial hot springs episode and a semi interesting take on shounen BC has been winding down for me. cant go from race wars to playing in the backyard whole our two dads watch boruto is hit or miss, start fapping here maybe naruto i cant get into it still, definitely fap here im always off my ass drunk by gundam so i dont really remember it but there is this little girl and some adult military woman who have the same haircut thats kinda fucking with my head and MHA suffers from what BC is going through. I mean christ UNITED STATES OF SMAAAAASH into .. playing in the mud
then i pass out for an hour or so and my phone wakes me up just in time for home movies.
Another week another shitty MHA chapter. >Shiggy's past was somehow holding him back despite zero indications prior to the arc >he can now nuke a town after training for a month >Redestro's trump card is literally the hulk buster armor >confirmed for kill next chapter >truly he was a my hero academia Sad part is people pretend to like it because of le silly Twice faces
40 posts to go, assuming no autosage. Saturday almost here.
But seriously, is the priest girl in fire force just there for moral support? I dont see her using powers, dont see any equipment on her
Isaiah Allen
Nuns are like the Zanpakutos of Fire Force. While the Fire Fighters destroy the Infernals, the Nuns say prayer that cleanses their souls and has them pass on.
Landon Jenkins
I guess the burning people need to be blessed properly or some shit before they get finished off, that’s her job
Cameron Ward
Moral support via unprotected sex
Isaiah Davis
Toonami is finished before the end of the year
Kevin Rodriguez
if thats true then for the first time in like 8 years i can leave saturday or sunday open on my resume
Brayden Nelson
Thanks
Christopher Richardson
This. A growing part of my pathetic being wishes for this.
Can the west do mecha besides tabletop games and a few outliers?
Oliver Rodriguez
I'm surprised Hotfoot would just snatch three handful's. Not that I blame him.
Isaac Barnes
Why doesn't Demarco like fan service? Is he a faggot or a feminist
Carson Perry
Feminist which makes him a faggot. Everyone at [as] is to some degree.
Adam Hughes
It plagues the entire entertainment industry.
Austin Davis
Not wrong. Occasionally you get someone on the opposite end as an example of why being a feminist is sooo good. It's just tiring.
Henry White
>tfw you wanted to see the dubbed version of this fight but you're not committed enough to go to 3am I can't think of a worse experience I've ever had with anime
Demarco is the kind of coat tail casual weeb who says he likes Ghibli films knowing that if his friends were to google the name, the first thing that wouldn't come up is tentacles and Oreimo. He thinks watching cartoons with cool fights makes him a big man or something.
We already had Asta who openly proclaims his lust for Sister Lily.
Evan Thomas
>thread still up fuck yes i can get this off my chest >adult swim going full retard with friday lineup >south park goes off CC at 10pm and does not come back until around 1am and the rest of this post is "cable is sucks when is toonami"
Aaron Williams
get prime, watch vinland saga
Brandon Collins
[as] has been full retard with the friday lineup for some time now.
Ian Hughes
yeah but the thread being up and me remembering never synced up until now
Brayden Adams
Really, the problem seems to be that everyone actually working at [as] presently is full retard.
Brody Thomas
Can someone tell me what that one poster during /tg/ referenced when he posted LIKE A FALLEN ANGEL with the screaming kid? It's been awhile.
>sample How big is it originally? >That is a particularly classy Robin. Robinfag got me interested so I started looking through images of her too recently.
>How big is it originally? Man, my -main- folder is disorganized and over a gig and a quarter (little over 4.2k files.) If its in there bigger, I have no idea.
Tomorrow is Gen:Lock and I will watch because I MUST see how bad it is. I just have to. No Neilson box so don't worry. God help us all. I'll see you all then. Hopefully.
Reminder for everyone if you're watching the direct streams (through a provider), those count as views to them, if you don't have Neilson but watch it on TV, it doesn't. Though the ratings through streams of course don't count for the reported ratings, the execs at [as] and other networks keep an eye on it.
Aiden Flores
There are many boobs before you child. And one day, you may even find the pair you love best. My old h-folder which has survived three computers now is over 15gigs.
I'm pretty much just getting started again, I had a lot of stuff years ago but it probably wasn't even a GB. I'll be sure to post when I reach that much this time.
Really? Any digital box counts now? Shit. I'm not him but I didn't know that. How are TV ratings getting so much lower if whats reported has been drastically increased by virtue of not limiting it to the Neilson box users?
Angel Thompson
Probably late 90s. And they're still on CDs somewhere in the stack of burnables. There's a reason I named my first external 'Pandora'
