>Watching post-Vickerman 12 Forever, aka Shadi's Shanekillers

I seriously hope you guys don't do this.

One white cis male is one roo many, user. We need to make the world safe for stunning and brave women like the new Twelve Forever showrunner Shadi Petosky.

There's going to be a lot of tension between growing up and not growing up, judging just from the trailer and the episode synopses.

Whoever wrote OP's pic related didn't pay attention.

Is that theme reinforced by either of the side characters the same way Shane did?

Nope, shady Shadi destroyed the show with her meddling. Too bad they #MeToo'd based Vickerman. Another great mind in animation getting the John K treatment, sad.

>her

Can someone who's seen the show confirm that Twelve Forever is about growing up being awful?

Looks like someone hasn't watched the show

Shipfags need to die in a grease fire.

People whoa are upset that the white guy got replaced have a more sound argument than this shit. I doubt this person has even seen the trailer

I’m not wildly in favor of the redesign, but do people seriously think Todd is all that different from Shane? I consider the two to really be the same character, except one is a little browner.

It is.

But a lot of it is also about how desperately clinging to childhood and stubbornly refusing to face reality makes growing up a hell of a lot more awful than it already is.

So basically they removed supporting white character, replaced him with a nigger and made the protagonist a lesbian. Yeah I bet the creators totally aimed to create a show for kids, surely not some sort of extension of their fucking complexes.

This show was actually on my radar for some time but now I'm definetly not watching it.

>"YEAH FUCK GROWING UP"
So, like on the liberal extreme of the "facing maturity and adulthood" spectrum (including shows like Codename: Kids Next Door)?

It's the principle of the thing. I refuse to watch a show where the people in charge consider having a white male character, or a total of two major white characters, taboo. If the current lineup had been the plan from the beginning, whatever. But the fact that someone saw the pilot and said "That's great, but there's too much whiteness" really sticks in my craw.

You sound neurotic.

why. who the fuck cares unless you've got conspiracy brain worms

Right, and I at least see the logic with what you’re saying.

But what I don’t get is people who are of the opinion of the excerpt in the OP image. In the excerpt, they apparently don’t have any issue with the character of Shane being racebent into Todd, who is just a browner Shane. Their argument instead is that Todd is a whole different character apart from Shane, and that the fundamental difference is Shane was “more mature.” Which I’m not seeing. Shane and Todd seem basically the same to me.

>Getting this salty with a character design change in a kids show
Damn, I hope you guys don't do this.

Some people have nothing more in their lives.

The whole show is a mistake.

Yeah but if you refuse to watch the show, guess what? only the crazies will watch the show, thus justifying the decision. Now theyll go even further into not making things for us, because they assume we aren't in the audience
that said,
if she's actually a lesbo, no fucking way am I watching this. I dropped loud house for that.

>White Shane is worth two black friends

I feel like there's a voting joke in there somewhere.

Or the show will fail, like Tuca and Bertie. I'll support things made by people who don't hate me for being a white male instead of watching shit by people who do hate me for being a white male in the hopes that they'll throw me a few crumbs one day.

>dont think bro just consume product and then get excited for new product

dude these people hate consumerism.

Literally who

>Butt Witch (the symbol of Reggie's puberty)
I missed that subtext in the pilot. Is it more obvious in the actual series?

Considering how the butt witch is made: yes.

ehh, not really. She mostly just sniffs out insecurities and amplifies them, but she acts pretty much the same as in the pilot.

Yes. Todd actually does a way better job than Shane. During the show we visibly see Todd growing up and in fact, he STARTS at a higher maturity level than Reggie.

Todd and Esther both have outside responsibilities that prevent them from just hanging out in Endless with Reggie all the time. Todd has to babysit his younger sisters, and later gets a girlfriend. Esther also has vaguely defined obligations. The fact that Todd and Esther are more grown-up than Reggie and the rift between them is growing is the CENTRAL PLOT LINE OF THE ENTIRE SEASON IF NOT THE ENTIRE SERIES.

OP pic is a fucking moron and did not watch the show.

lol, that image is pretty funny.
>We have to find the package she is smuggling. WE HAVE TOOOO

It isn't. It's about how growing up is necessary.

Reggie doesn't want to grow up because she sees growing up as abandoning the things that she enjoys, because everyone makes fun of her for enjoying them. She hides out in Endless because she believes that's the only place where she's allowed to like things.

Later she meets an older girl who likes the same kind of stuff. That's probably going to be the season 2 arc.

Actually, it's slightly more grounded than KND. Reggie is less "peter pan" and more "desperate crack addict". You think I'm exaggerating but the latter part of the season gets pretty intense.

She is, but you wouldn't know it if you didn't read the episode descriptions because there are multiple reasons she could react the way she does.

It's not really the symbol of Reggie's puberty. The form she's given is based on a bunch of puberty textbooks that were thrown into a volcano, but she's more of a general eldritch horror that's been on Endless since before any children had access to it, and it's implied that it was a veritable hellscape during that time.

>she's more of a general eldritch horror that's been on Endless since before any children had access to it

Source on this? I got the implication that the Butt Witch was on Endless before Reggie got there, but what makes you so sure she’s been there before any other kids arrived?

She implies when she first wakes up that Endless has changed and blames the presence of children for it.
