Oh shit, forgot Legion is on Mondays now
Gotta give the good midweek timeslots to the nigger AIDS and crack shows.
It has been a bit of an adjustment.
Here's the promo
youtube.com
Alright. No more time for tangents.
Where's the Orb?
What's "The Equinox?"
What is Oliver's plan?
What is the significance of Future Syd missing her arm?
What IS real and what ISN'T?
Am I forgetting anything?
Still love this show btw.
is this the series finale?
Two more episodes after this one.
Two more
Do they always play Logan before Legion? Because as great as this movie is, it's to sad for me to sit through ever again.
It's like the third time this season.
>they choose to live like ancients scottsmen
holy fuck it's Jason
Hey, it's that creepy guy who always plays creepy guys.
OY VEY REMEMBER THE 16 GORILLION
That was a fucking suburb transition
Is this the Astral Plane or are they really shrunk with a Wolfman in a potted plant?
>mighty straw
So who is the big bad wolf gonna end up being?
Alternate dimensions disguised as everyday objects seems to be popular as of late.
Literal Hitler
Just some hungry asshole.
And fellow Astral Plane resident.
"I'm five."
"No excuse"
>Yellow Submarine floating hands
>"real world"
If it wasn't for Wolfjob here trying to fuck with you the Astral Plane seems like it would be a great place to live.
Welp that answers that
Somebody kill this Wolf asshole.
I wasn't paying attention, explain
but he's the heart of the show
So if the Astral Plane is this close to reality, maybe it's bleeding over into the real world?
Wasn't there another creeper guy in the first season? Tried to molest female Carey when David set everyone to the Astral Plane when they were about to get shot?
Or maybe they're dumbasses who have been trapped by David for so long they forgot where they are
for fucks sake he confused reality with Ostrich
Is that how Syd gets back (if she does at all)?
They are the young versions of themselves
That was the Shadow King who sent them to the Astral Plane.
That is quite the headless doll collection she has there.
I guess that rules out future Syd being a Time Demon if she as actual Syd memories.
He finally blew their house down, the actual madman.
I fucking knew.
One can view 'reality' through the Astral Plane.
*Knew it.
So Oliver, what's "1 + 1"?
>"We have to learn about love before we can learn about hate. Otherwise, everything goes to hell."
Words that Syd could have used the first time around.
Fruiky Chews?
I feel so unsafe
Jerome Wolf is a multi-dimensional demon like the Shadow King?
Stranger Danger Alert
I can't believe that were two episodes away from the finale, but THIS is the episode where I have to ask "what the fuck is going on???"
Or just a wolf banished to the astral plane for so long it developed sentience and higher brain functions
He could be the Big Bad Wolf, a character form an old fairy tell no one tells their children anymore.
That sounds like something from Neil Gaiman's Sandman.
Is junkie girl supposed to be a metaphor for David now? Or is he the wolf?
Did they poison two kids?
>Rap Battle
of fucking course
Rap Battle!
She's defiantly a simile for David and the Wolf I think for the Shadow King
He's the girl and Farouk is Rafi.
Noooo
I don't know what I expected but it wasn't this.
this is literally the fucking battle of words between Dream and that one dumb fuck demon
Epic Rap Battles of History making a comeback.
AND THAT'S THE WAY IT ISSSSSSSS
Some people are just hopeless.
That's probably a bad sign for David. I don't know how this show might end but I really hope it's not Syd saving the day.
This show is trash tbqh
>the power over evil is love
Dropped
Your mother is trash.
David's gonna cut off her arm, isn't he?
Or the time door.
I still can't believe Carey got fucked up by those god damn hippies
Legion: Endgame
There were a lot of them, and David helped them sneak up on everyone. Also Kerry isn't physically superhuman or anything, she just likes to fight.
The Time Eaters are still just fucking cool to look at
>Ideas from the Astral Plane bleeding into the real world.
The movements along the ticking of a clock are just unnerving. At first U worried they would just be Weeping Angel knock-offs, but their true scope of abilities are terrifying.
I*
>The barriers between the Astral Plane and reality are broken
ah looks like we will ge tXavier curbstomping Farouk after all
They're visual design is also so simple yet effective, they're basically the Blue Meanies with a lot of fucking distortion blur
Charles Xavier is a Matador!
So David meets his dad when he's in Morocco.
Well, that was nice, if you'll excuse me, I'll be catching up with Archer.
Are the Hip-hop-opotamus and Rhyme-nocerus part of the MCU?
Good.
One of the best rivalries in x-canon and you never fuckin see it anymore,.
Legion is in it's own reality. Figuratively and literally.
They're a good example for why less is more. All you really need is that creepy laugh and a vague outline of a smile for them to be creepy as hell.
Wow, that episode was kind of shit. The rap battle especially was a pain to listen to and this is coming from someone that usually loves the dance sequences in Legion.
>Too many words in rap lyrics.
Not a Flight of the Conchords fan?
Not really. I'm not a fan of rap, especially white people rap.
That shit was cringe my guy
So I'm not suppose to root for Syd and Co right? They all seem like grade A faggots.
Only Cary seems on the level.
I want David to go like "lol nope" and vaporize their asses. Let him and Xavier just finish off the Shadow King.
I have a sinking feeling David is going to anhero and take farouke with him
This. There's comic book precident for him going out in a blaze of glory.
Yeah.
Shadowking crushes him in a big slow motion gory mess.
I have to agree. But when Oliver said "rap battle" I laughed like such a retard that it carried me through the admittedly weak lyrics.
So this episode was actually kind of bad.
I was happy to see Oliver and Melanie again but they didn't get to do much other than pep talk Syd and fuck Syd, she's a rapist.
>Jerome Wolf is a multi-dimensional demon like the Shadow King?
Most famous "Jerome" by far is St. Jerome. He's the guy who translated the Bible into Latin (the Vulgate, Catholic Church's official Bible).
Note the "Cogita Mori" text behind him in pic related.
Means "Think Upon Death."
As a historical figure he was associated in later art with the memento mori (remember death) / vanitas (worldly pursuits are all in vain) theme.
In life he had a scandal where he taught ascetic / self-denying practices which resulted in the premature death of Blaesilla, daughter of a prominent Roman senatorial family.
In some ways he was the exact opposite of the wolf Jerome in this episode e.g. He was extremely against hedonism. But the wolf Jerome's role as the reality principle trying to scare or traumatize the innocent with knowledge of the world's horrors and evils matches pretty well.
Saint Jerome obsessed over Hell and in his younger years went back and forth between indulging in hedonistic partying / sex and feeling really guilty about it, visiting the tombs of Christian martyrs and relating the writings of Classical Greco-Roman greats like Virgil to the Christian concept of Hell. Poet Dante Alighieri would much later follow suit and base his conception of Hell in the Divine Comedy on Virgil's Aeneid, so Saint Jerome played an important role in building up the mythology we now think of as "Hell" today.
And a few episodes ago they tried to justify her bullshit, saying HE turned her around.
Or something like that.
>So I'm not suppose to root for Syd and Co right?
>they didn't get to do much other than pep talk Syd and fuck Syd
>And a few episodes ago they tried to justify her bullshit, saying HE turned her around.
It's been clear for a while now Syd is supposed to be the heroine. Hawley even said as much when mentioning in that interview about how he wanted to do a supervillain Breaking Bad and that David would become the villain and Syd would be your hero. Also you have that scene when Syd first confronts David at gunpoint at the end of Season 2 where he asks who the hero is if not him and she answers "I am."
I don't like it either, but that's how it is.
Pretty conflicted personally because on the one hand I really like Oliver and Melanie and it was cool seeing them be magical caretakers of the Astral Plane and providing the perfect Pa and Ma Kent style parenting needed to give the hero the tools they need to save the world. But on the other hand that hero is Syd. I was really psyched to see Legion wreck Syd at the end of episode 5, so it was disappointing as fuck that she just gets to go back into her body and recover a few minutes later.
I really want David to succeed and end the world at this point. Will be super-mad if Syd defeats him and that's the ending.
>A Time Demon in disguise justified rape to an unrepentant rapist
Yeah and?
That is a really bizarre reading of what happened. I don't think there was any suggestion at all that the guy didn't turn her around and fuck her from behind in real life. That was just a memory of what happened. Nothing wrong with it either. He was likely into that sex position in general and probably used it with her mom all the time before that incident where Syd took the form of her mom's body and went over to have sex with him.
The whole situation with her and the past self discussing that seemed more like a way to build trust and intimacy than anything else. She basically got herself raped by being an immature young teen and putting herself in an adult woman's body before proceeding to engage in a sexual encounter she didn't have the maturity or familiarity to know how to stop.
I don't think she raped the guy. She did something even worse which is getting the guy sent to prison for sexual assault of a minor. Nobody forced the guy to have sex with Syd in the body of her mom, so it doesn't make much sense to call that rape.
It makes as much sense calling that rape as calling what David did rape.
>Conceal identity to use some one for sex
My uncle thought he was St. Jerome.
I agree David didn't rape anyone either.
>My uncle thought he was St. Jerome.
I'm not 100% certain if it was intentional or if they just randomly used the name Jerome with no awareness of the St. Jerome connotations.
But I lean towards it being intentional because they had Oliver explicitly say "or else everything goes to Hell." And they do have the wolf Jerome blatantly trying to introduce the concept of death to young Syd.
And St. Jerome in real life was very much hung up on all the bad, evil aspects of the physical world (AKA the "real" world), with the wolf Jerome being all about exposing everyone in that story to the bad, evil aspects of the real world outside the Astral Plane.
>get mindraped by strongest psychic mutant in existence
>shrug it off in 20 minutes
oh ok
lame ep desu desu desu
More like
>Based Oliver creates elaborate scenario to rebuild her mind because she was so busted that all that was left of her was a baby-mind
>Where's the Orb?
Doesn't matter, they just needed it to know that Kary built the orb that abducted David
>What's "The Equinox?"
Lore, the rest you're on point for
>This one's lost her innocence, which is good for me.
I identify with this wolf on a spiritual level.
A dropped plot point
This show any good?
what kind of retarded question is this?
just watch it and judge for yourself, moron
As bad as you fags might be sometimes, reading the theorising on reddit about this show made me want to chug arsenic.
I am very real and I not only hate you but I will make sure you feel the hurt and know it is real.
So, Xavier and Farouk face off next week, with David, Syd, and the Carys getting into shenanigans trying to stop each other.
what did they come up with
Seven different variants of its all in his head, and a lot of theories based on them not even understanding what's happening on screen apparently.
I'm not sure which would piss me off more, the ending being Syd saves everyone or the ending being everyone's David. But those are probably the two worst scenarios one order or another.
The first one, the second at least you can defend with 2deep5u or the comics did it
Any webm requests?
Didnt he play the nuclear scientist in The Dictator?
I love em and the way they move, but they remind me so much of the blue meanies
What?
Who are Cynthia and Jerome?
Maye David trapped them in Limbo of Astral plane and real world
Time Demon can gain other people memories and manipulate them too remember?
No just drugged them
Probably in the top 5 shows on television right now, top 3 for seasons 1 and 2
Oh shit nigga you right
Anyone got the page of that comic
Fuck you time demon
>idk how time works in Astral Plane
Bump
I mean, they can't save the world if they don't save David, what are they going to do to him, shoot him?
>Time Demon can gain other people memories and manipulate them too remember?
No, the user is saying Syd had memories of being FUTURE Syd. She had a flash in that episode of being future Syd and communicating with David with the light stick thing.
If future Syd were a time demon than Syd wouldn't have memories of being future Syd.
Unless the time demon ate so much time around syd that it replaced her in the past
Bump again
She didn't remember being future Syd, just seeing her from when Farouk showed her their conversation.
Bump final time
I guess this episode was not kino enough
Anyways delivering the Acts of god webm w/o song subtitles
>Anyways delivering the Acts of god webm w/o song subtitles
Forgot webm
For that user who requested it last weeks thread
It's said when Ptonomy is the most useless character in the show.
>His mom drops dead when he was a kid
Never brought up again. Not a tear on his face.
>He thinks he a time traveler
Never plays into the current storyline.
>Gets turned into a robot after being brought back to life
Nah, he's just a prop who gives exposition from time to time.
What a useless, useless character...
Is Kerry/Cary the best original character donut steel?
>He thinks he a time traveler
That was a metaphor. Rest is fine but I don't see why you'd want a grown man to cry over something that happened in his childhood.
I think Farouk showed her the time when David and future Syd made out, which was when he traveled to her and they could both talk. He also showed her the time when he visited future Syd himself.
I don't believe he ever showed her the time when Syd was communicating with David through the light stick.
Reality without a coping mechanism.
>I don't believe he ever showed her the time when Syd was communicating with David through the light stick.
I don't think it really matters. Even if Farouk didn't show her that exact moment, we could assume that he showed Syd far more offscreen based on the timing of events in that episode.
Or you could intepret it as her seeing what she's going to do in the future.
Which actually makes more sense since there wasn't any hint of her watching that event happen in the cave with Melanie during last episode's flash of that moment. It was depicted as her directly. not her watching, same as with all her other flashes of memory / premonition in those scenes.
Yep. A lot of Legion relies on our interpretations and how we can make sense of what's being shown to us; similar to Twin Peaks.
There IS a deeper meaning to many of these nuances, but Noah Hawley most likely isn't going to tell us. lol
Yeah. I was annoyed by plucky NA girl who can't actually fight but she grew on me.
I think shes supposed to be inuit, no?
No, unless they're also called natives
I'm not the guy you're talking to, but this is really weird. I'm certain when I saw it back then, they explicitly said she was Inuit.
Could it be that they changed it after the first broadcast? It happened in a Jessica Jones episode, so now I'm paranoid about this kind of thing.
Go back and watch her first appearance
I know, I checked the version of the video I've got now (and the explanation is in ep4), and they say native.
But I'm certain, and I've been certain since I first watched it on broadcast, that they said inuit. I remember taking specific note of the fact that she was an inuit character, which is rare. I know memory is unreliable, but still it's really weird, considering other people also thought she was inuit.
And what I'm talking about them changing it, sometimes shows do that. In Jessica Jones, they mentioned "spidey sense", then they changed it to "super sense". The only evidence is ripped versions of the video from before the change was made.
Wait, they changed a Jessica Jones episode? Which one?
finale of season 2.
youtube.com
I downloaded the earliest tv rip version I could find, and it says native.
So now I'm left to wonder, what the fuck are you doing, brain?
watching now
I love this show, but any episode spotlighting Syd makes me want to barf. One of the most self-absorbed, detestable characters on TV.
