THE FLASH

New showrunner Eric Wallace answered questions about the show at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. Here are the key notes.

>New villain Bloodwork will have a "chilling vibe" like Reverse Flash and Zoom.

>No plans for Captain Cold.

>Killer Frost will be upgraded to a Nora-esque main character / Flash's sidekick role.

>Barry will not say "we’re gonna need more diapers" ever in season 6.

>No Tornado Twins this season, but we will learn more of Barry’s children in future seasons.

>Something as major as Nora’s death will happen to Barry and Iris in the first couple of episodes, and the entire season is basically more about character development and family bonds than ever before.

>Season 6 is split into two arcs, Pre-Crisis and Post-Crisis, and the Post-Crisis arc will have an entirely new villain.

>In addition to Eobard Thawne, Tom Cavanagh will be playing the Pariah in season 6.

>Iris will have her own plot launching her own newspaper. She'll have her own office and staff and spend a lot of time there.

>Ralph's family will be introduced and we'll learn more about his childhood.

>no plans for Captain Cold
Those fuckers introduced Abra Kadabra, you know, a fucking time traveller rogue. It's the easiest way to bring Cold back and make a Rogue War season

>Killer Frost will be upgraded to a Nora-esque main character / Flash's sidekick role.
Cool, more shipping fuel for best couple.
>Something as major as Nora’s death will happen to Barry and Iris in the first couple of episodes
It had better fucking not be Joe dying

It's as easy as having Flash run to the end of time, right before the explosion that kills Snart blows up in his face, and snatch him a split second before it happens. He never really dies so there's no paradox.

So who dies instead of Barry in Crisis?

Oliver. Everybody knows this.

Wentworth Miller moved on, maybe we should too.

When who dies instead of Kara?

Oliver, too. He trades his life for both of theirs.

bring back patty.

>best couple
You mean worst couple cause it makes no sense.

Sue is going to be introduced this season. I can’t wait for Ralph to be with her.

They have good chemistry, that's pretty much it.

Maybe with CoIE they can recast some of the Villains like Cold and we can get a full on Rogue arc. Maybe even bring Rory back in where since he’s on the waverider he was unaffected but Snart and everyone else he cared about changed and we can see him dealing with that and maybe teaming up with Barry to stop the rogues

>Not thinking they will kill her cousin for total female domination
lol

I just finished Season 2.

Please tell me it's as bad as it gets and I have something to look forward to, astounding drop in quality from S1.

>No Tornado Twins this season, but we will learn more of Barry’s children in future seasons.

No more than 7 seasons please. This show is running out of steam, sadly.

>Please tell me it's as bad as it gets.

season 3 is worse but it gets much better after that.

Barry

>Season 2.
>Please tell me it's as bad as it gets
Season 2 is the second best season

Season 1 was the best season, the rest of the show is good for the most part but it never reaches Season 1 quality again.

It's a fast that those who say Season 2 "is just as good" are dumb motherfuckers.

>We'll never have proper Rogues

That's kinda the most disappointing thing about the show. Heatwave and Cold were fun while they lasted, but they kinda botched everyone else up.

>Scudder is a lame Meta
>McCulloch teased, but never shown
>Boomerang dead (And also not really all that much like Digger)
>Jesse handled well enough, but never around enough
>Mardon never really shows up ever

Maybe the Post-Crisis villain will be cool?

Wentworth Miller went native; became super protective of the character and basically refused to come back and undo his character's heroic sacrifice arc and made it a condition of his returning for cameos, that they had to keep Cold a good guy.

Barry dies but he got better.

>>Season 6 is split into two arcs, Pre-Crisis and Post-Crisis, and the Post-Crisis arc will have an entirely new villain.

Pretty much what they needed to do since s3. Also guarantee crisis gonna be shit.

With Linda Park finally back, can we have a scene with Sue and Dr. Light?

>Scudder is a lame Meta

I liked him and his dandy schtick.

They could find a way around that. Have Snart be forced to team up with the other Rogues, to repay a favor or something. Then at the end, he switches sides and helps Barry defeat the other Rogues

Is The Flash worth watching? What is the best season?

Or they use Cold to pretend he's the dead Snart and have him be a mole in the rogues.

If you really wanna watch a Flash show, it's serviceable - the worst thing about it is the teen drama which can trim down an episode to about half its length
Season 1 is the best
If you want a superhero show that's flat out good, Doom Patrol is my pick

>Iris will have her own plot launching her own newspaper. She'll have her own office and staff and spend a lot of time there.
Oh boy I can't wait for her and Barry to have a rough patch because she starts valuing the newspaper more than working with him and the team only for the two of them to come back together after a villain starts getting the upper hand with ten minutes to go in the episode and only Iris can save the day.

I'm honestly expecting a subversion. They have been far too honest and open about this, and having the entire next Arrow season being him dealing with his impending death and then just following through with it feels an underwhelming way to go about it. They would have been better 'faking' a renewal for Arrow, but a years haitus (to explain contracts not being resigned), and *then* having him die, and keeping some suspense and shock value.

It's all too transparant at the moment.

Iris really is cancer isn't she?
At least she's just unlikable, and not Felicity levels of terrible

Yeah I'm expecting that Superman to die.

Yeah, I'm half-expecting to have my expectations subverted too.

>Season 6 is split into two arcs, Pre-Crisis and Post-Crisis, and the Post-Crisis arc will have an entirely new villain.

Took them long enough.

>Something as major as Nora’s death will happen to Barry and Iris in the first couple of episodes
Joe is going to die, he had back problems and may want to take it easy.

>>Killer Frost will be upgraded to a Nora-esque main character / Flash's sidekick role.
Based.

Just bring in Chillblaine. A complete psychopath who steals Snart's cold gun and assembles his own team of Rogues with no code of conduct to terrorize Central City. You can even have Mick come in to slap his shit for tarnishing Snart's legacy like someone suggested.

Sure, he's a footnote in the comics, but when our latest big bads have been Cicada and Bloodwork, it's safe to say comics fame no longer matters all that much.

>>Something as major as Nora’s death will happen to Barry and Iris in the first couple of episodes, and the entire season is basically more about character development and family bonds than ever before.
just waht this show needs, even more shitty drama

>>Something as major as Nora’s death will happen to Barry and Iris in the first couple of episodes, and the entire season is basically more about character development and family bonds than ever before.

Let me guess, a miscarriage, right? Fuck's sake, can we get a season-long subplot that doesn't involve Iris whining and crying?

I'm expecting it'll turn out that, rather than take Barry's place as the one to die, Oliver will actually end up with the same fate as Earth 2 Superman in this adaptation, where instead of dying, he and Felicity will live happily ever after in another dimension.

That was pretty much confirmed by season 7 finale.

So the Monitor has access to "Heaven" itself?

>Anti-Monitor still more powerful

Quick, someone fetch Azrael's blade!

Good idea.

That's why they made Joe the police captain. Now he can bark order from behind a desk so Jesse L. Martin doesn't strain himself.

Larry

That's only reasonable if the writers manage to make him more impressive than the original, which I can't see happening considering they love to squander anything related to the Rogues.

holy fuck melissa is cute
fuck this would be too sad

havnt watched this since s3 is jay relavant anymore

Jay last appeared in season 4, where he announced he was retiring and passing off the mantle to a unnamed female successor.

In season 5 John Wesley Shipp briefly appeared as Earth-90 Barry Allen, whose universe was destroyed by the Monitor, and he's expected to reprise both roles and maybe more in this year's crossover.
