I didn't get that at all. Hanners is still working through her things (all that damage control should have made that obvious), so while that mentality could be refreshing for her, for Marten, who is notoriously lacking any real drive in life, and also her fuckboi, she would like to see just a little bit more 'give a shit' about his life direction. One might wield a knife with their weak hand when the thing being cut requires even more dexterity to control while it is being cut. You'd have to have decent enough motor control in the weak hand to manipulate a knife though. Cutting food, it's never something I've done. Always put the fork in the weak hand when cutting steak, or hold the veggies on the cutting board, etc, knife in the dominant hand. But maybe cutting open a box or package where it's awkward to hold one way might be necessary.

Claire didn't really start looking indistinguishable from the biowomen in the cast until after Jeph paired her with Marten.

There actually is to Tilly enough as is. If Jeph did a bog standard 3 arc story, he'd have Hannelore haughtily confront her mother as was done in the comic, but instead of laying down a diss so hard that the company shuts down for a day, mom lays down the reality that Hannelore is barely functioning as an adult and will clearly need assistance long term because mom won't be around forever and the company probably can't function properly under Hannelore's rule.

Then in act 2, Hannelore, being Hannelore, has some sort of existential crisis and shuts down. Tilly, whose main trait is actually unwarranted loyalty, comforts Hannelore and attempts to motivate her. After initially continuing to be hostile to Tilly for no good reason, Hannelore starts to realize she's being a brat.

I don't feel like developing this any further but act 3 ends with Tilly and Hannelore teaming up to show mom who's boss, somehow, probably trying to prove Hannelore has what it takes as an heir, and mom eventually expresses pride that Hannelore has finally embraced the assistant, even though that wasn't Hannelore's goal with whatever she confronted her mom with.

Then, in the end, you have a reason to like Tilly, because she stuck with Hannelore, who is normally a likable character but became a total cunt during this arc. You'd also have actual on-screen character development for Hannelore, rather than "lol Tibet". You'd also humanize the mother, rather than making her a Bond villain for no good reason.

The comic is going so long because it gets clicks, people have been reading it forever. People have been reading it forever because it started when there wasn't the infinite number of webcomics there is now.

It's pretty simple, it's an inoffensive, regularly updated comic with relationship drama. People are willing to give a little pocket money to read something like that.

The problem is that Hanners is more or less functional enough to survive on her own, has Winslow to provide assistance, and has zero interest in running the company. Even if she was perfectly normal there is no indication that she's even qualified, much less has the personality, to run a major business. Hanners wasn't being a brat, her mom basically arranged a massive intrusion in her life by a complete stranger that was entirely unnecessary. The problem is that Hanners' mom, while in the wrong, had a perfectly logical reason for doing so; Tilly is a sinecure hire to butter up a potential business partner because the company was having difficulties. Jeph could have easily had it that Hanners' mother, recognizing that her daughter lives a very regimented life with thousands of small tasks needed to be performed in order to function her best, thought that a personal assistant is exactly what she needs. Being an impersonal and autocratic person, she was just "here's your new PA, don't do anything that could be reported to HR." Tilly could then have a proactive role in her debut arc - seriously, she's a plot device for Hanners - by mediating between Hanners and her mother.

Claire's family is pretty short. Claire, Clinton, and their mother are roughly the same height.

I dunno. Keenspot seemed to have an unlimited number of shitty webcomics even back then.

I don't agree with you on several points, but it doesn't really matter. The outline was merely to demonstrate that with even as little as a few minutes of planning it is possible to craft a complete story even with everything mostly as is. All you really have to do is cancel everything that happens after Hannelore walks into the boardroom and come up with a second and third act. Doesn't have to be exactly what was written. The point is suddenly aborting your storyline because the audience doesn't like your insufficiently fleshed out character is a bad excuse, and it's something that happens perpetually in this comic.

I don't think anything ever ends. Claire and Marten are just going to disappear into the background like Marten does sometimes, until they are "relevant" again.
