Just rewatched lilo and stitch for the first time in years, forgot just how great it was also nani is super hit
remember seeing lilo and stitch in theaters.
cant wait for disney to ruin it with a live action souless emotionless movies. its already confirmed
>remember seeing lilo and stitch in theaters.
>cant wait for disney to ruin it with a live action souless emotionless movies.
>its already confirmed
This is literally one of only a few disney movies i enjoy, normally i cant stomach their films but i adore lilo and stitch, i can only imagine the horrific ways modern disney can butcher it in the remake.
what about meet the robinsons
Will we get plenty of shots of Lilo's feet?
Nani's feet are better.
Agreed
the Lilo & Stitch Soundtrack was the first CD I ever bought. this remake is gonna hurt me
>its already confirmed
Source faggot please tell me it's not true, I already had one of my favorite disney films completely butchered for me.
>mfw stitch is going to get hit with the ugly stick the same way the beast was.
This scene made me tear up watching it again as an adult.
Amazing how you can improve a disney movie just removing the princess factor.
Yes , Nani was amazing
we know. believe me, we know
Exactly, i fucking hate disney princess and thats exactly why i hate frozen, because it just made disney double down on its worst trope.
At least the girls were already "diverse", so that won't be a point for the movie to gloat about. But they'll probably mess up the alien designs like said, and they'll likely ruin the characterization by making Pleakly legit gay instead of campy-flamboyant, and in a relationship with Jamba.
>At least the girls were already "diverse"
You bring up a good point though, no one here would mind diversity if it was played up for fan service like this movie had.
Eh, Jasmine was a rare exception, since she actually was willing to get her hands dirty loads of times in the movies and the cartoon show. Shame that the rest were just needy whores who were lucky to have 10/10 looks and not be affected by the hardships of their respective eras.
You know ive never seen alladin, i avoided most disney movies as a kid because i didnt like the brand. Is it really good?
>Yea Forums - Comics & Cartoons
good luck getting a kid actor that isn't complete shit. Based on disney's recent track record the new lilo is going to be just used as a cute girl for audiences to go awwww for rather than have a child actor that can actually do a good job.
>Nani
>Mulan
>Jane
>Esmeralda
>Elastigirl
Most of my favorite Disney leading ladies are the non-princesses.
They'll make Nani a lesbian.
I hope they hire lilos voice actor to play as nani
I expect it to feel like the Kim Possible reboot though
First movie is pretty much a masterpiece, and one of Robin William's best roles. The first sequel wasn't half bad, but the drop in animation quality is very noticeable. Then there's the animated series, which was pretty much considered on par with many of the older Disney Afternoon shows like Ducktales and Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers. The third and final movie is the conclusion of the series, and does a pretty damn good job of wrapping things up that you rarely ever see with films that get expanded into shows. If you're just looking to check out one thing, by all means then just watch the original movie, but if you do get interested in the rest, it's well worth it in my opinion.
I thought Mulan got some sort of bullshit "Honorary" status as a princess even though whatshisface wasn't a royalty?
Meet the Robinsons is design porn if nothing else
>gets payback by triggering a volcanic eruption
She did A+ work
It's an honestly by the numbers disney romance story being massively carried by the amazing music and robin williams performances as the genie so overall I would say entertainment wise it is worth your time.
Story had some pretty great moments, but certainly could have trimmed off a few members of the family since they were beyond superfluous, and maybe have made the Bowler Hat Man more interesting beyond the reveal for his villainy.
i still havent seen it
but i noticed that last christmas, the disney store had gigantic life-size plushes, like 48-inches, of only three characters: Mickey, Minnie, and Stitch.
this must be the real deal. i better go check it out.
I assume that they just wanted to include her in the merch line-up.
>we won't get "Be a man" in the remake
I mean, there was always a chance that they might have messed it up like some the other remake songs, but that was one of the best parts of Mulan.
Was it Beauty and the Beast?
Lion King......
I want to bleach nani's womb and bring an end to her Hawaiian lineage
>ywn be crushed under Nani's big fat butt
Lucky Lilo...
nani > life guard
Does belle count as a princess? I like her, she at least has more of a personality other than she is pretty. She is smart, patient when she needs to be and when you insult or argue with she insults and argues back but when you are polite to her she returns in kind, she is pretty much an ideal role model for young girls I think, at least more than ariel and alot of the other disney princesses. I am on the same boat as you with fairy tail disney movies but beauty and the beast is the only one that I can stand and that is due to the chemistry of belle and the beast and the likeable personalities of every character in the film which is why to me beauty and the beast is the one exception.
I hate that there is no art of nani losing her bikini in the waves
What about belle from beauty and the beast? In the movie she seems like a better role model for young girls as opposed to the other disney princesses. I am completely with you on the disney fairy tale romance shit but Beauty and the beast is the one I can actually stand and enjoy.
>same swimsuits as in the movie
>but bodypaint
How fucking hot
Lilo and Nani's relationship breaks my heart cuz as a kid I never really thought about the fact that she's just...her older sister. She's like...19 MAX. She doesn't know how to raise a kid but she's trying her best.
>dysfunctional
>parents died in a non-dramatic very real way
>struggling with child services to keep custody of her sister
>Nani has trouble maintaining a decent job and has no time for a personal life
>Nani is heterosexual
>Lilo is a weird kid
>oh and there's an alien in this
This movie couldn't be made again.
>mfw watching this scene again as an adult
I mean...
The scene where Simba screams ''NOO!'' was hilariously bad...
Timon and Pumba were...ok?
Replacing the Hula dance with Be Our Guest was a nice touch...
Shenzi was cool as a menacing hyena who Nala absolutely despises...
Oh, they had He Lives in You...
I'M TRYING TO REMEMBER THE THINGS I LIKED BUT THEY BUTCHERED SCAR, THEY RUINED ZAZU, THEY RUINED RAFIKI, THEY FUCKED IT ALL UP FUCK GOD DAMMIT
>The scene where Simba screams ''NOO!'' was hilariously bad...
If you had told me that the death of mufasa would be unintentionally hilarious as I was watching a dog's reaction to the original take of that scene I would've asked you what kind of fucked up world do you live in where shit like that would be allowed to happen.
>Timon and Pumba were...ok?
I can't fucking stand seth rogan's "comedy" so I was going to despise him as pumbaa no matter what. Billy Eichner's singing voice in lion sleeps tonight was actually great but that's really it, didn't so much care for any of the jokes at all.
>Replacing the Hula dance with Be Our Guest was a nice touch...
I will admit that is a neat idea in theory but billy eichner's french accent is still just embarrassing, I know it is a fake accent he is supposed to perform anyway but still.....
>Shenzi was cool as a menacing hyena who Nala absolutely despises...
wasn't that a plotpoint that went absolutely nowhere though?
>Oh, they had He Lives in You...
That was in the film? I thought they cut that out....
Don't even bother picking any more positives senpai. Not only did they butcher scar, they also butchered the best song in the original "Be Prepared" and also added the extra bullshit with simba's hair blowing in the wind, then eaten by a giraffe, shat it out, rolled along by a dung beetle, and the hair carried by an ant to rafiki.
She comes off a bit of a bitch by acting like the lives of the villagers are mundane and wanting more out of her own life because of all the fantastical things she reads about in her books, and then just ends up becoming the wife of a formerly spoiled nobility. She certainly has her good qualities, like risking her life for her father and thereby forfeiting her happiness for a while before the Beast started to make progress in not being a douche. And while it wasn't really a major focal point, her interest in reading probably did inspire plenty of girls to try literature at an earlier age than they might have.
>She comes off a bit of a bitch by acting like the lives of the villagers are mundane and wanting more out of her own life because of all the fantastical things she reads about in her books
She was rather friendly with everybody in the village and they don't seem like her well enough as well, they just find her pretty weird precisely BECAUSE she is not content with the village life. She was even patient with Gaston up to a reasonable point and the fact that she wouldn't accept his advances is part of the reason why they find her weird because who the fuck would say no to the town hero despite being a massive douchebag. The movie itself kind of makes that point that the masses are easily to manipulate by people like gaston which was the whole point that the movie itself is getting across rather than something said or acted by belle herself.
>and then just ends up becoming the wife of a formerly spoiled nobility
That is an extremely fair point, but that is shit that is endemic with disney fairy tail adaptations that the movie just can't avoid no matter what, but for what it was beauty and the beast really did pull it off magnificently.
*they seem to like her well enough as well
Sure, the people were gullible, but Belle is still acting like her life has no meaning even though she's got the knowledge to possibly be a great doctor or teacher or whatever and really make a change, but instead just ends up being a wife to a smalltime nobility. I suppose she could go on to do more with her new wealth and status, but the problem with so many Disney Princesses was their "I want more" when they've got pretty exciting/comfortable lives. Meanwhile, the likes of Mulan and Jasmine, while still coming from privileged lives, were faced with the likely possibility of being married off for political gain to their families, which makes their rebelliousness at least justified.
I drew it for an artbook.
Fuck Disney in the ear.
Not too shabby, kind of makes me think of a storyboard segment
> but the problem with so many Disney Princesses was their "I want more" when they've got pretty exciting/comfortable lives.
Completely true and belle is no exception to that but what makes her an exception was that she is doesn't flaunt her looks or other qualities in front of the audience which makes me genuinely like her as a character as opposed to the cardboard cutouts from older fairytail disney movies and fucking ariel..... Plus if Belle didn't fall in love and marry the beast we wouldn't have a movie so that outcome is pretty much unavoidable. It's unfortunate but that is just how these fairytail princess movies work.
>Mulan
If the general suddenly didn't become her love interest in the end I would've 100% agreed with you.
>Jasmine
I am going to make some enemies here but she is a complete 100% total THOT just thought I should get that out in the open right there I don't give a shit what excuses you have, she wears the middle eastern equivalent of fucking hookers clothes. Even if you take away whatever islamic influences the story has she is wearing what would normally worn by sex slaves rather than a princess or somebody of royalty. If she wore like that when she was a slave to jaffar that would make sense but she dresses like that the whole fucking movie.... other than that though, yeah she is fine as far as disney princesses go I guess.
meant for
Still, Jasmine at least proved she could be pretty proactive and handle herself most of the time without help. The animated series was especially great at showing that she could save the day, and didn't even have to pull the "gurl powah" card.
Only nanis body
her nose bothers me
I didn't even notice the paint.
Source?
>they'll likely ruin the characterization by making Pleakly legit gay instead of campy-flamboyant, and in a relationship with Jamba
Doubt it, wouldn't fly in China. You guys forget these shitty live-action remakes are made for the domestic market.
Uh, aren't made for the domestic market. I'm a retard.
>Licks Nani's arm to get her to let go
>Nani grabs Lilo's arm again later and asks why she did that to the social worker while trying to explain to her how bad things are.
>Lilo just starts to tear up and yell no over and over before falling to the floor and mumbling.
Jesus, I felt sorry for Nani when I rewatched this. They wrote Lilo like an actual little kid.
youtu.be
And yet that hasn't stopped Disney from doing shit that caters to the fringe 8%ers who demand "muh representation"
This is all still speculation and heresay. I refuse to be believe it until I see a trailer for it. please God don't let this be real
Eventually the entire disney library is going to be remade. Just embrace the butchering of yet another masterpiece as animation fades into obscurity, it’s less painful if you do.
