I recommend the narrative fan fic format as some good writers can take their time with the story before getting into good sex plot.

Hirsch was crazily good at getting what he wanted from Disney, there was all sorts of content in that show that normally wouldn’t fly on the network as well.
I can guess that the 11 minute format was intentional for Amphibia though, it’s mostly a sitcom and most of the episodes we got in S1 really didn’t need more time. It would be neat to see them evolve into a double runtime being a more regular occurrence later but what we’ve gotten so far is mostly pretty light in tone and the length suits it

I would argue that a key element in the Japanese Isekai genre is that the protagonist has at lease some idea of the "rules" of the new setting (usually it's someone that's played fantasy games going "oh, elves! I know elves.") It tends toward being an extremely overpowered protagonist as well. A power fantasy.

Shows like Amphibia or Infinity Tain have more in common with the likes of Alice in Wonderland, Narnia, or Peter Pan. The youngster from "our world" ends up Elsewhere, has no idea WHAT the fuck is going on, and tries to figure shit out and hopefully get home in one piece.

"Reincarnated as a Slime" protag: Quickly becomes a god, handles every problem with ease, unstoppable.

Amphibia Protag: gets rescued by a legless child, congratulates herself on remembering that Shit Happens if you mix vinegar and baking powder.

Well usually in shows like this the characters learn lessons from their time in the other world about maturity. Amphibia has pulled that off subtly so far. That being said shit like Steven Universe and Star Vs have show a really strange grasp on morality that I am sure will be repeated in at least one cartoon in the batch.

Even the older anime and cartoons of this kind before the recent isekai craze were usually inspired by games, like Captain N, Rayearth, or Digimon. Someone on Yea Forums has probably invented a better way to categorize this already.

the whole point of the show is Anne slowly self improving to go from a flawed selfish freak that causes trouble for others to someone loved by the entire town. In the end Anne is a better person than the hoodlum that used to be pushed around by Sasha.

He had proper plans but got impatient with the mouses bullshit and rushed what was supposed to be two seasons into one and it show heavily. The finale itself suffered for it the most.

He didnt get to tell the story he wanted to tell, he said so himself. He addressed the dozen abandoned plot threads in the journal.

Amphibia did a great job of having Anne become a better person naturally. It is so gradual that you barely even notice until it is already happening. Most cartoons have characters stagnate until something big causes them to change on a dime.
Still held together better than nearly every other big western story driven cartoon sadly enough.

By the finale she feels that she is not who she was, and sees Sasha for the tyrant she is. And by the end of it, Sasha might have seen a glimpse of it, too. But it may be too late for her now. Or maybe she has an actual revelation, turns on the toads and has to be saved by Anne in the S02 finale.

There's an interesting connection there, though. Sasha presented the lifestyle she was living when she and Anne reunited as the one she'd been enjoying the entire time, or at least purposefully omitted that she lived in squalor in a cage for at least half the time she's been in Amphibia. Meanwhile Anne was living with people who unconditionally cared for her well-being, poor or no, much like she already had on Earth. It comes off as yet another way in which Sasha was trying to entice Anne with the image of her wealth and influence.

But she isn't a villain. She believed that helping the Toads put down the rebellion was the legit best way for them to get home.

That's true, I'm just saying that Anne arguably got the more fulfilling end of the deal. She's not tied to someone else's ambitions in the same way that Sasha is, for all the luxuries that Sasha has gotten out of it thus far. Of course she's probably going to grow a more genuine bond with the toads in S2 than what we've seen so far, which is one of the things I'm looking forward to most.
She's a "villain" in the sense that what she tried to do is objectively wrong, but she's also just a stupid kid in a strange world with way more authority than she ought to have and little self-restraint to manage it with. It's not impossible for her to grow from her experiences, and change from a very misguided person into a more compassionate one.

Considering that Sasha was willing to die in order to give Anne a chance means she probably wont fight Anne again. Most likely she'll either avoid her or the next time they meet it'll be Sasha fighting alongside Anne against some greater big bad.

It's a mix of these. Whether Sasha wants another confrontation with Anne or not, it's going to happen in some form. She's tied herself to Grime, and Grime will definitely seek some kind of retribution against Wartwood in general and Anne and Hop Pop in particular. Whether she chooses to fight as well or try to mediate, they'll be looking at each other from opposing side again at least briefly.

I can totally see Grimes getting the best of Anne before Sasha steps in and they fight together against him.

Grimes is the steely, strong mentor for a main character- he's going to die to save both of them.

Two kinds of evil; malice and indifference. Sasha may not have been motivated by malice, but her indifference to what she was inflicting on the frogs to get what she wants still makes her a villain.

In the absence of context, I think it's a generally agreed upon idea that murder is wrong. Until we get more information on the status quo the toads were trying to preserve, the only logical conclusion is that they're glorified barbarians.
