But more than a meh, a more angry version, and a more quipping one. Jason is way, way more sassy that Buck. In terms of personality, Buck is more like Dick, and Jason, more like... I don't know, Hawkeye, I guess. When Hawkeye is through his more depressive or angry phase (which isn't something Bendis invented, as much as I hate that guy. He already went through such phases in his runs with the different Avengers before him).

You do know Red Hood was planned to come back before WR, right? It's actually the reason why Marvel bought Bucky back.

Not him, but I would say they almost came from the ice at the same time. I don't think it there was any intention of copying the trick. I mean: Brubaker's story looked pretty well planned for being something they came with after DC tryied that trick in Hush, and then Batman: Under The Hood came just about the same time than Winter Soldier (Cap's arc started in January and Batman's in February of the same year).

I think it was almost a coincidence, to be honest. Maybe Brubaker or the editors in Marvel got inspired by Hush tricking the readers, but I doubt it.

I think he works a lot better as a villain than as a hero, but DC loves pushing the gritty gay anti-hero agenda and Jason, being related to Batman, can carry a book like that. He doesn't really make sense in the Bat-family.

I feel they try to hard to make him feel 'edgy' He should've stayed dead. I liked him as Robin and the idea of his death and the consequences and stories from it. I didn't need him back and I don't think Red Hood is interesting as a villian (becuase why doesnt Batman take him down...Jason kills people now...) and he doesnt work as a good guy.

I don't know, anons. I didn't though they were really trying to copy each other. Marvel may have got inspired, but, eh... Two years since Hush to UtH it a lot of time to cock a storyline, and subtle hints can be read different ways and pass the radar of readers from other publishers, let alone writers and editors. You really want it to be a conspiracy, but I still think it was mostly by chance. Mostly.

As a villain, or as an anti-villain, like he was under Winnick only in Under the Hood and maybe during DickBats, was a one-trick pony. He was pretty morally gray antihero ourside of that, before new 52, and he was even more clearly a light anti-hero after that. And let's not forget that he was pretty fucking heroic when he was Robin, even if he was kind of violent at times (as Bruce was, btw). Some other user is claiming he was arrogant and self-righteous as Robin. Well, he wasn't arrogant at all, but sure he was self-righteous; and still is, so much he cannot deal with infairness and, even if he can give second chances just fine, he will not give any further that. And let's not forget about how aware of himself he is, painting himself as more a bad guy than a good (because he's this self-righteous guys he cannot forgive himself even if he keeps doing morally dark stuff. But he's also fucking practical).

But then, which Robin, or even Batfam, isn't a self-righteous cunt? Well, Steph, I guess. And Alfred. But all the others are just like that to some degree.
