This obsession with never-ending franchises is damaging to our culture. Watchmen was great. But it’s done, it was a single complete work that told a story from beginning to end, there doesn’t need to be any more of it. Sometimes you have to let go.

Not everything needs to be a franchise, and that is a real problem in the superhero comic world, it’s really sad that the entire industry survives just because of adaptations and merchandise, nobody gives a shit about the actual comics.
