The pacing is chaotic. Everything happens at 2x speed, but then they shove in 2 or 3 extended flashback scenes an episode. Some flashbacks are straight from the previous episode too.

Yeah, I think it was partly because they got massive budget cuts in later seasons.
I think it was partly to get on the 3d cartoon trend that was going on at the time, but yes it probably made his swinging more dynamic, and possibly was cheaper then 2d backgrounds.

People complain about early Young Justice's JUST AS KEIKAKU scenes, but those had nothing on how Kingpin was behind every damn scheme in the later seasons. He basically made Gobby and Ock his bitches.

The only season which wasn't so reliant on Kingpin was season 2 with Kingpin being in at the start and near the end. Every season onward was basically Spider-Man vs Kingpin.
