Did you participate in the ship faggotry? And if so, which side where you one?
Did you participate in the ship faggotry? And if so, which side where you one?
I see the appeal of both. What I don't like is that Korra and Mako were clearly an attempt to appease the morons who were so triggered that the canon couple won out that it dragged down LOK as a whole.
Zuki
The side marveling at the sheer level of rectal destruction that went on over it.
It wasn't quite a Harry Potter tier shipper meltdown, but damn it came close. Pic slightly but not really related
I didn't then, but I do now. It's seems clear to most people that Zutara was the right way to go.
Don't think it's fair to call Zutara fans morons. There was nothing wrong with that ship.
Well, they are morons.
My ships for AtLA were Aang x happiness, Katara x healing her pain, and Zuko x honor.
The ship itself is fine so long as you understand that it's not meant to be canon. Bryke clearly tried to get those people back on board with a worse version of the ship since Mako is as bland as a bread sandwich.
Based and wholesomepilled.
I realized zuko and aang are two side of the same coin. If aang wasnt the avatar then he'd end up being zuko.
There were many writers and actors that supported Zutara. It wasn't as crazy as people believe. Writer Aaron Ehasz and VA of Zuko, Dante Basco, were fans of Zuko X Katara. They weren't fanatical extremists like many of Yea Forums imagines. They, just like me, just thought the ship was cute and they went well together.
Zutara
I saw Aang as a little brother and I love ships where the "bad guy" gets with the girl
This I liked zuko better than aang because he wasnt the avatar.
Aang is literally related to Zuko in a spiritual sense, and considering bending is tied to spirituality, it's far closer than just being the mere reincarnation of the dead ancestor that Zuko spent much of his life trying to hunt down and kill.
I like this ship best.
The best one.
Zuko/Jin or Firecest. All the other were legitimately boring and uncute
To add to this, Aang's development in firebending has him mirroring the movements of Zuko, who was also developing a source for his firebending. Both are learning new techniques while paralleling each other to two dragons, too seek a new passion in their lives in order to achieve firebending. Aang's closest fire nation friend before he was iced was Kuzon, an anagram of Zuko, if you remove the n. Both are obsessed with family and strangely enough for Aang, restoring their loss honor, and both have scars related to firebending that doesn't go away.
I never cared for Aang that much, so I guess that’s why I liked Zutara, checking it out now that I’m older, meh, ships don’t really matter to me anymore in ATLA.
Aang behaves like a child, its impossible to ship him with anyone. He and Katara have absolutely no chemistry. I dont care for Zutara but Zuko deserved better than Mai, even Katara would be better.
Who's your ideal pick?
I was never a shipper.
All I knew was I wanted to put my peenus weenus inside Ty Lee's tight starfish.
You wouldn't think that if he was taller
Zutara . for ever.
I didn't participate on the autismo war but I did prefer Zutara. I didn't mind the other one anyway.
I was Zutara, still am frankly. Primarily because Aang and Katara's "romance" was trash while Zuko and Katara had actual tension.
No.
The only ship I ever cared about was Me x Azula.
I honestly don't see why this isn't more popular. Zuko had more interactions with Aang and much more chemistry than he ever did with Katara. At least for Aang Katara was someone important and arguably his closest friend. But Katara was almost completely irrelevant to Zuko and his development.
Zuko and Aang I get
Zutara is femcel self insertion
It was supposed to be canon, but bryke sabotaged it because they're cucks and self insert as aang.
I shipped Zuko and Katara along with Azula and Aang. I have always liked the Hero x Villain ships.
holy shit, i forgot about this. When's the next storytime?
>And if so, which side where you one?
the only correct one
keep going
>Did you participate in the ship faggotry?
I was there from the beginning, and incredibly thing about it is Zutara was the first one to start snowballing with the Waterbending scroll then going full avalanche in the Storm. Maybe it was because it was the obvious pairing of protagonist + girl in the group that made it start slow but as a ship Kataang actually began going full steam as a short of reactionary ship at the Fortuneteller. Still for most of the first season shipwars werent that much of a thing, the full on war began during the second season when fan sites truly became popular and went trully militant by the third.
>And if so, which side where you one?
I was just an spectator since at the start I didn't care much for ships and then season two gave me Toko and Firecest
I was Kataang from the beginning and watched Zutara tards scream until the end, good times
>better than Mai
>ignoring what Mai did for Zuko at the boiling rock
Zuko/Aang
Katara is for Sokka
Kataang
Zuko and Katara's interactions are based on two things; angst and Aang. If there's a Bechdel test equivalent for whether ships work or not, Zutara fails massively. Hell, if their relationship was anything like their real interactions, half the time would be spent with Katara threatening Zuko if he steps anywhere near Aang, and the other half would be Zuko sneaking out to hang out with Aang.
As other posters pointed out, this makes more sense, which is bizarre because it's rule 63 of an antagonistic relationship. Can you imagine if the blue spirit happened with Katara instead of Aang? The entire episode would essentially be indisputable proof of Zutara being valid.
Honestly, considering the ships that could have been, every other choice is better
>Zujin
>Azokka(?)
>Tykka(?)
>June/Iroh
>Tokka Best ship
>The degenerate ones, like Zucest
To be honest, there's a key detail that most people fail to grasp; Aang is the only one that can stand Katara's behaviour continuously, and Katara is the only one who is lightened up by Aang reliably. Same thing with Harry Potter, every time Ron was absent, both Harry and Hermione started getting sick of each other (Hermione cries, and Harry amuses himself by imagining the banter Ron would create). Harmione was also never going to work.
The “tension” was them not liking each other.
No, Neither bit I laughed at Zutarians as they were typically the most insane and obsessive.
>mfw showing my gf this show for the first time, just got to earthbook and she's fully behind Zutaria despite not knowing there's a word for that fandom.
I absolutly can't wait for us to get to the last ep.
the didnt stand a chance side
