AND THAT'S A BAD THING

Rest in peace, sadpanda

; here's why

Heres what to think;

Too bad.
After the dull to painful first three episodes, I really liked it.

Maybe I should have rated it after watching.

libgen's dead, too ;_;

No it isn't, it's just unstable. Don't scare me.

Seems pretty dead to me...

>Netflix cancelled Tuca & Bertie because it was mediocre at best but it had a female lead so now for the next week we’re gonna be going apeshit about how misogynistic this is and how much of a “devastating loss” this is to the industry

>it wasn't gender politics it was quality
You're both wrong. Networks only care about money. They'll renew the worst trash if it brings in viewers.

I laughed about this two days ago and now sad panda is dead. Was it karma?

user was saying that this show being cancelled is going to cause waves of outrage from small groups over the next coming week about how this show not getting a second season is a massive loss for our culture or something just because it has women leads.

Do any other small low-budget cancelled shows get repeated threads on being cancelled? I feel like Yea Forums might be reacting to outrage that hasn't happened yet.

reminder that motherfucking Big Mouth has more seasons than Tuca & Bertie

Constantine.
I'm not sure whether you'd call Spectacular Spider-Man 'low budget' but it got a bunch too.

Yesterday was the predictive reaction, OP is the actual start of the outrage happening and the typical trolling that ensues.

Reminder this isn't because T&B was bad or got low views but because the studio unionized. Bojack will be announced to be over when the new season drops for the same reason.

HY GURLZ CAN WE TALK ABOUT MUH VAGINA CUZ I REALLY WANNA TALK ABOUT MUH VAGINA

When thousands upon thousands of mediocre at best and terrible at worst shows exist, by men, with men, for men, this show should be allowed to exist too.

T&B is like Amy Schumer: the animated series. If it doesn’t even appeal to its target demographic, that being city thots, then what purpose does it have other than draining budget? Its not gonna get renewed for a season because “the same quality of shows exist but they were made by men”. Thats retarded.

Unions are a blessing and a cures. You get health care fair wages and collective bargaining. In return management gets to say fuck it the cost is too high and ends the contract.

>Thing and How You Should Feel About It

>you have to run a show at a loss because other people do
Netflix simply says, "No!"

They should shift their attention then over to the fact that Trans Forever is out on Monday with zero marketing and is probably not getting another season either.

>BoJack Horseman But Girls failed
Huh imagine that

Did you really like the show or is this a purely statistical argument?

Kids shit does really well on Netflix apparently. I mean, I'm only guessing because a lot of their original kid shows get multiple seasons despite zero advertising.

And nothing of value was lost

I follow a bunch of writers and comedians, along with a lot of stand up acts and all the ladies in that crowd are actually upset

Good. It should've been on TBS/Comedy Central rather than Netflix.

>taking an entire season to make an opinion
Be like vidya reviewers and play 20 hours of gameplay, or in this case 5 episodes before you make an opinion. Unless it's anime, then just skip the filler and then judge.

That actually does really suck. I liked Tuca and Bertie and Tuca and Bertie and Bertie and Tuca and Bertie and Tuca and Bertie and Tuca and Bertie Tuca and Tuca and Bertie and Tuca and Bertie and...

No, they usually get 52-episode orders that they split up into 6 seasons.

>target demographic, that being city thots
That would be MTV Downtown

You guys should watch Saint Seiya

While I literally couldn't care less about this show, I still think Netflix's binge format is ultimately hurting all TV shows. This was cancelled less than three months after it premiered with the whole first season simultaneously. Back in the days of weekly release TV it could sometimes takes months for a show to catch on and start to gain a following due to word of mouth and it being constantly in peoples' minds due to new episodes every week -- how is that supposed to happen today when everybody talks about a show for like a week or two after the season drops then forgets it even exists?

>netflix has no rights
What does that sentence mean, to them? I see this sometimes, people use the word 'rights' oddly and I dont mean just by asking for them

Didn't Big Mouth get renewed?

Attached: 1539750962556.png (388x388, 277K)

Now this is coming from the perspective of someone who watched all of Tuca and Bertie I can say I didn't hate it but, it doesn't leave a lasting impression like Go back which I assume most people think they might get when glancing at it or considering watching it.

I think the whole problem with it is it's pacing and direction of what the show wants to be it tries exttemely hard to zany and outrageous but then whiplashes in to serious tones out of nowhere.

I see a lot of people go on about how big mouth is ugly and degenerate which I agree that it is, but that's just it, it makes itself come off that way and keeps that consistent style and over arching theme through it's whole seasons which keeps viewers entranced.

In a nut shell big mouth pulled off the theme of "so bad it's good" while Tuca and Birdie tried to do the same thing and got nothing out of it.

>Studio unionizes
>Show cancelled

Enjoy S6 of Bojack, it’s gonna be the last.

What the fuck is with this "blank & blank" format for cartoons now?
>Apple & Onion
>Victor and Valentino
>Pickle and Peanut
>Cupcake & Dino
>Pop's and Branwell
>Beetle and Bean
>Bird and Squirrel
>Dog and Squirrel
>Sanjay and Craig
>Rick and Morty
>Danger and Eggs
>Robot and Monster
>Ollie and Scoops
>Tuca and Bertie
Come up with better names!

>Ren & Stimpy
>Dumb & Dumber
>Schnookums & Meat

It's always been a thing.

> Comparing a live-action movie to cartoons
Retard

lol

It's less of a problem if your show is, yknow, actually good.

> Schnookums & Meat
That was just a shitty segment in a otherwise unrelated cartoon

You obviously didn't watch the show, so kindly fuck off with your uninformed opinions.

Still counts

Attached: 268x0w.jpg (268x268, 28K)

>3 examples
>One of which isn't even a cartoon and is actually somewhat clever
Really?

And I guess you count as dumbest, too.

And yet they cancel shows like the new Roseanne or Million Dollar Extreme despite their good ratings.

>feminists complain women don't get to run enough series
>they are given chances
>every time they get a chance, they end up dragging all the god damn identity/gender politics to the forefront and core of the series instead of focusing on making it good/interesting and than are surprised they get cancelled due to no views
They really need to reflect.

For what its worth its not out of the question there would just be some feminist television shows.

There can be some but just every female run series seems to do just that and make it a war on the whole boys club. What's a tv cartoon/show series run by a woman where this isn't the case?

Ha they renewed Big Mouth for 3 more seasons beyond the yet to air season

>and that really sucks
Thanks for telling me what to think, scumbags.
Objective journalism died for this shit.

its an editorial man

I still wanna know how much the show cost to make. It had really good animation and messed around with different styles - that had to cost some money. Add to that Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong couldn't have been cheap either.

They'll just move the show to Canada.

Killjoys was made by a woman I think. It's cheap and Canadian as hell, and has lots of stronk wammen but doesn't push man-hating.

The only reason those mediocre at best shows created by men are still running is probably because they're making money which Tuca & Bertie probably wasn't if it was cancelled so abruptly.

I have the urge to say "sad", which I think it kanda is, but considering that I still haven't watched it I am a culprit too.

Come on now. We learned yesterday that network execs care about being regressive backward misogynists first, and money and ratings are a VERY distant second.

Attached: 323262.png (459x302, 146K)

Women have like 5-6 cable channels, a HBO channel, STARZ channel, and an independent movie channel just for women. Along with the thousands of movies with at least 10-15 made just for them every single year.

Why is one shitty Netflix show fucking with everyone's perceptions that nothing anywhere is ever made for women and they have zero entertainment whatsoever without this single show?

>Pop's and Branwell
book
>Beetle and Bean
what is this
>Bird and Squirrel
also book
>Dog and Squirrel
again, what is this

why?

That sounds good!

>Tom and Jerry

>Why is one shitty Netflix show fucking with everyone's perceptions that nothing anywhere is ever made for women
The funny thing about most modern feminists is that they push the most stereotypical views onto women, more than a generic conservative does. A lot of stuff is made by women but they won't aknowledge or care about it unless it is feminine enough to represent themselves, or at least their definition of feminity. If you are a woman and create some cool neutral show or something that feels "manly" they won't give a shit about you. Rather the opposite, they will most likely attack you for pushing toxic agendas or some bullshit. They literally came full circle up to the point on which woke women on twitter attack other women for not liking pink colors or glitter because not liking this shit means that you are a woman influenced by toxic masculinity, I wish I was joking.
That aside, I think T&B is a good show even though it isn't 100% my cup of tea. But I would never complain about more cartoons that aren't aimed at little kids.

All of these are upcoming Cartoon Network pilots while Dog and Squirrel is Nick

youtube.com/watch?v=vNzIAisw-v4

And then the union goes on strike, get's half of what they want, the owners gradually downsize the first world facility, and stop hiring - while outsourcing to third world countries and China. The first world union workers have kids, who don't get union jobs, and hear anti-union proaganda, but don't buy it. The Chinese get tired of being fucked over, protest, and get beaten up by cops disguised [poorly] as thugs. In 5 more years, they are all climate refugees.

Oh good I wasn't sure how I should feel about the first half of the headline.

I’ve seen more threads about this shitty show being cancelled than the real thing ever had

I don't know why shows almost always do this. They put all the worst episodes up front.

>Target demographic is women ages 18-30
>filled with lots of over the top loony and gross-out humor that guys like more
>turns off more women than usual
>Mostly attracts trans viewers(men who prefer the style of humor but identify as women)
>show ultimately fails

>This was cancelled
>13 Reasons Why is getting another season
wtf i hate netflix now

I watched most of the show, it was blatantly obvious they were targeting young women for the primary audience you fucking clown.

No idea what that is but the images google shows me look diarrhea'ish.

Maybe female showrunners should stop running shows into the ground.

Maybe it's just something women aren't good at.

But Downtown was actually good.

Why do you talk about a series you clearly didnt watch? I mean seriously, whats the point?

why is this a bad thing ? what does the article say ?

T&B was good too. Not as good, mind you, but good.

I mean people are praising the series in this thread and they obviously didn't watch it either.

>T&B was good
No.

>Million Dollar Extreme
Basically just fags saying things they know they shouldn't and lying to people as "just a prank" bro. Every network that hires Youtubers is retarded and doesn't understand being terrible is part of what makes a Youtuber get promoted in that algorithm-driven trash heap.

Shame. I unironically kind of liked it. Could be that it was too wacky for people who watched it just because the showrunner was lead designer for bojack.

And downtown only got 1 season as well.

>Mostly attracts trans viewers(men who prefer the style of humor but identify as women)
I noticed this too. They're also the ones who scream the loudest about lack of feeling represented when what they're really lacking is cartoons about the mentally ill.

I downloaded it, but never watched it.
This is probably my fault.

name one cartoon character that isn't mentally ill in the past 10 years

>Why do you talk about a series you clearly didnt watch?

There actually is an entire episode dedicated to talking about a vagina, Tuca's specifically.

>Amos and Andy
>Abbott and Costello
>Ethel and Albert
>Lum and Abner
>Burns and Allen

Hal Jordan or Kilowog from Green Lantern The Animated Series.

Beck from Tron Uprising.

Aqualad from Young Justice.

ok

Steven Universe

he's gay

Bob from Bob's Burgers. Skips from Regular Show. The cast of Over the Garden Wall. The little Asian girl from We Bare Bears.

But, point taken.

>Target demographic is women
Lisa Hanawalt thinks otherwise.

Never heard of it. Looks like shit.

Based Lisa

unironically respect her for making a show for everyone even if i never watched it

Ratchet & Clank

The show was about women. It was from a largely female perspective.

The actual problem was that is was, in fact, a poorly written mess. Also, they coped the fuck out with Pastry Pete.

>we'll just make him a creep instead of Bertie actually being forced to confront something about herself

Unlike Bojack, which wasn't afraid to make you hate the main character if it meant you got to see him learn a hard lesson, plot happened to Tuca and Bertie. They never drove it.

>Spin-off of a show that has more people praising it that people that actually watched the show
>It's in the same plataform that has Agdretsuko for the general female demography and She-Ra for the lesbian demography.
>It's gross.
It's really that surprising that it was cancelled?

>Big Mouth renewed untold Season 5

CACA AND SHITTY BTFO

It's the Family Guy of it's generation. Mostly watched by teenagers that want to feel like adults.

>Spin-off
twitter.com/lisadraws/status/1118988697662148608?lang=en

Attached: Not a spin-off.jpg (601x446, 45K)

It’s pretty much functions as one. It even has a character who looks like Bojack and is voiced by the red head dude on Horsing Around

My issue with the show is this persistent need that most men are predators, something for some reason is taught to young girls.
You know what disappointed me? I thought Birdy's lesbian coach was the one who molested her. It made sense in context of their behavior when they met up and would have added weight with a message on adults you look up to might not always have your best interest and might hurt you instead, similar to the chef. But nope, it was a faceless unamed male bird that did it.

cock & balls

Spiders have shittaste though and nobody wants them in their fandom.

>Laurel and Hardy
>Barnum and Bailey
>Stella and Louise

Man you took most of the ones I was going to post.

id fuck both of them

The impression I got was they were trying to make Cartoon Broad City, while also being a huge fan of Bojack. And this is some kind of mutant mix of the two.

We need to have more "Blank, Blank, & Blank" shows.

>Networks only care about money. They'll renew the worst trash if it brings in viewers.
