I don't find Jason that interesting as a personality, and I don't care for Red Hood that much either, but the baggage of a second Robin and said Robin's death is an interesting addition to the Batman story even if it's not particularly vital to it as a concept. The rest of the family always struck me as mostly redundant, even if you can find good uses of them in some stories. I loved Morrison's Batman and Robin, for example, but even if it's no fault of Morrison's Damian has outlasted his welcome for me.
