Admit it, Hickman is gonna save X-Men

Admit it, Hickman is gonna save X-Men

I am inclined to agree.

I rather liked his Avengers run, even though it was a task no mortal man could have pulled off, and if he has learned from the experience, we could be getting something really special.

Finally some good X-men.

By making them into a shitty version of the Inhumans?

Probably. I haven’t seen people this excited about an X-Men run in a long time.

>By taking the idea of the Inhumans and actually making it work because mutans are, and always were, destined to succeed humanity - unlike the Inhumans, who cannot compete with humanity?

ftfy.

>mutans are, and always were, destined to succeed humanity
Nice fanfic but that isn't canon, just mutie propaganda

Retard.

In context, it is true.

>TFW Hickman reveals that there are no 'mutants'. All human beings have the innate ability to develop these powers, the X-Men are just early adapters

Just because magneto says it doesn't make it true.

Notice how mutants are never the dominant species in any future time lines

He already has. There's been more discussion over this one issue than the past year of X-men comics combined.

Ironically, in Earth-X, Inhumans are the dominant species.

Hickman? More like Hackman!

This. Marvel is finished.

>At last, we truly have become the New Gods™

Nah so far Xavier is acting like a cross between a creepy cult leader, North Korea and Ultimate Reed/Maker. Magneto is acting even crazier than before and Cyclops has becoming a full kool aid drinking member of the cult of Xavier. Hickman has just continued to shit on the franchise like Bendis, Guggenheim, Rosenberg, Lemire, etc.

Hopefully Jonestown 2.0 isn't Hickman's end game and he has something better planned. If not he might as well kill the franchise.

Xavier acting like a creepy cult leader is nothing new. Cyclops going full xavier kool aid is definitely a regression of Scott's character though, since a major part of his character arc over the year was getting out of that "Xavier as cult leader messiah" mindset.

Based.

I miss when mutants were awkward teenagers coming to terms with their changing bodies and finding acceptance among their comrades. No idea why the careened off in to “fascism is cool”.

Colossus was the only teenager in Giant Size X-men so probably about that time.

Marvel really seems hellbent on putting the franchise into the ground. At least we'll get some cool charts out of this mess.

They have to max out the most politically inappropriate story first. They already brought back the O5. What else can they do between now and MCU Phase 5?
Comic books aren't real? How are they having a Jew WWII survivor claim bishops in Israel of all places.

Claim Godhood

That line is offensive for Thor.

Marvel doesn't truly know what there doing with some of there comics right now. Well time to see how this ride ends
hopefully it doesn't end the same way it ended for the Inhumans, in death.

Reminds me of 2015 Yea Forums.

Will need to see sales data for that. I'm a big fan of Hickman desu, and I enjoyed HOX 1, but all that really matters is if it sells.

Psh scott is acting the same as he has for years, now xavier just agrees with him

Guarantee the sales will be crazy
First issue was great and the amount of advertising for it was insane

The X-Men living alongside their villains, embracing Magneto's ideology, going isolationist on their own ethno-state, threatening humans and acting like villains while the narrative insists they're the heroes of the story is all nothing new. This has been the X-books for the last 10 to 15 years. No matter how well Hickman executes this, it's been done before. Unless he has some surprising twist that takes the story somewhere very different very quickly, he's just repeating everything that has gone wrong with X-Men.

Avengers was 3.5 years of dicking around that didnt matter at all.

Best thing out of it was Illuminated Guy's career.

Avengers was 3.5 years of build up to an FF/Doom event. Imagine the reaction of he does 3.5 years of X-Men and it builds up to a Hulk or Spider-Man event.

like a Roomba through shit

I thought this issue was good. Hopefully X men will have a good story again.

He can’t hurt it at least.

Yeah i dunno why the big dramatic change is fucking Utopia again.

So if I want to get into this and haven’t read any x-men book since Grant Morrison’s run, what should I read? And isn’t Hickman writing multiple x-men books now?

Already had that. It's called AvX and it was close 7 years of build up.

>t's called AvX and it was close 7 years of build up
AvX didn't have seven years of buildup because AvX wasn't what the whole Messiah saga was building up to. AvX was a shoddily done hero vs hero event that shanghaied itself to the X-men's story.

Ultimate Richards? More like ultimate red herring.

Moira MacTaggert is a nanomachine prime sentinel

>Utopia
>Genosha
>Asteroid M
>Limbo
>Jean Grey School for Higher Learning

Why is Magneto acting so smug, when the past 2 "mutant homelands" were fucking obliterated?

It's going to go through the same cycle of hype that ends in complete anti-climactic and infuriating fizzle ending. So no, it's not going to save the X-men. It might just push it to the right direction.
