Fantastic Four would work better as a smart, star trek like tv show where the Team is traveling around the universe and solving a new problem each episode.
Overall Plot line could be about the f4 being stuck in another universe after a experience goes wrong. They now have to find a way back home while running away from Doctor Doom who has somehow managed to establish himself as the new emperor of a extremely aggressive and imperial alien race.

making a doom movie would be so much easier

If they set it in 60s space race they would do well with capturing adventure and comfy family feeling of comic. Id like mole man, but that was sorta done in incredibles 2 ripoff. End movie with them trapped in negative zone where they dont age and emerge in present for future movies. Dr doom could pull them out and experiment goes wrong, causing disfigurement/small scar and set up rivalry. Coming back can also free annilhus for annihilation as big cosmic event for avengers.

Aside from Fant4stic the other movies were mediocre at worst, so I'm not really seeing the issue.

The first 2 movies feel like any other MCU movie. They could literally release the same movie but now selling it as a part of the MCU and it would be a hit.

The thing is the MCU seems to want to divorce itself from previous adaptations, and with how the Story movies have been treated on the internet I fear that they would refrain from the best part of them, ie. the team having childish in-fighting. Because let's be real, that's how the F4's "family dynamic" works, it's Sue bitching at Reed, Johnny being a douche, and Ben bitching at everyone. And then they make up and clobber some villain.

It can be absolute garbage tier and worse than the other F4 movies but the fact that it has the MCU brand attached to it will make the psychopants lap it up as the best thing ever.
