How did they get this so right? It's almost as if everything Star Vs does wrong, this show excels at.
Anne is such a better, more likable main character who actually grows and improves as a person. And because of this, and the more consistently strong writing overall, there's this noticeable sense of being so antithetical, tone-wise and in terms of direction, to Nefcy's blunder.

Seasons 3 and 4 of Star Vs the Forces of Evil are so distinct from the first two seasons, it could be a different show without all these pieces of its identity its latter half pathetically carries on.
It's like leaving your favorite toy in the garden, coming back to it all faded and worn out, and seeing how lighter and unravaged the underside is.

Because it's only the first season. Wait till season three airs; that's the proving grounds that no cartoon seems able to beat.

It's only the first season so it still has time to fuck up, but yeah it's pretty great so far.
