So at least 5 months have passed since the end of Rosenberg's run? What is with writers and introducing long time-skips that mess up the timeline of the rest of the Marvel Universe?

why does he look like the maker

I thought that SHIELD was still disbanded, and HAMMER was disbanded years ago.
Good to know that common hatred and fear of mutants can bring the most mortal of enemies together.

>20 years until mutants replace humans
...how? There aren't that many mutants now, and there are over 7 billion humans on Earth, most of whom will still be alive in 20 years.

Attached: House Of X 01-028.jpg (1988x3056, 765K)

Anyone feels like Hickman would be a lot better if just wrote an original sci-fi novel?

Attached: House Of X 01-029.jpg (1988x3056, 1.93M)

Attached: House Of X 01-030.jpg (1988x3056, 1.47M)

>Sol's Hammer
>Sol's Anvil
Of course Hickman references his own stuff.

>hey who should we have greet the world's ambassadors?
>we'll need someone that can keep them from turning down our offer
>hey magneto, people don't remember you trying to wipe out all non-mutants and your various acts of terrorism in the past, right?

I don't keep up with what SHIELD is up to right now, but from what is stated here it's not a official coalition of those organizations, it's just several former members of those different groups joining this one.

Attached: House Of X 01-034.jpg (1988x3056, 1.7M)

What are you talking about? Rosenbergs run never happened.

t. Banshee died in it & exists here like nothing happened

Attached: House Of X 01-035.jpg (1988x3056, 1.68M)

Nope, go read some bendis or king if this is too much for you.

>Our own language
No it isn't, all you did was create your own fancy alphabet that replaces every latin letter with some weird hard to write symbol. You're still speaking and writing in English.

Attached: House Of X 01-036.jpg (1988x3056, 1.61M)

>What is with writers and introducing long time-skips that mess up the timeline of the rest of the Marvel Universe?

Protip, it's meaningless but super effective way to get some distance away from previous runs when doing status quo changes, so it feels more plausible.

Attached: House Of X 01-039.jpg (1988x3056, 1.46M)

Have your tried reading his purely creator owned comics?

>They want to give amnesty to SABRETOOTH
Seriously? He's a fucking mass murdering cannibal rapist. Just because he has an X-Gene doesn't mean he should get a "get out of jail free card".
Why did they even send him on a "stealth" mission?

Attached: House Of X 01-040.jpg (1988x3056, 1.59M)

No I mean I would be interested in an original sci-fi novel from Hickman not that I don't like this.

FUCKKKKK

Affiliation: Unknown

I hope Karima is a spy for Xavier.

>You have new gods now
Kind of a weird thing for somebody to say in a universe where pretty much every god from every religion is 100% real.

BALD!

Goddamnit, Tony. Clean up after yourself instead of leaving your fucking superweapons out there for assholes to take over and use.

sooo.... was it good? wha'ts your opinion anons?
feels too much like morrison's / avx rehash

>Now that Franklin is a teenager, he has permission to fuck my daughter so that we can unite our powerful bloodlines and she can give birth to Hyperstorm.

Yeah, this is totally going to end well.

>Let's spend two pages explaining something that's already been established on the actual story.

Brava, Hickman.

It's too much set up. Maybe it'll read better as a whole but right now it's not great.

It's pretty different from Morrison, since Morrison for some reason limited himself to a small cast (only 6 X-Men that weren't his OCs mattered), while Hickman has a huge cast.

I meant the concept. Here we have again "mutants will outbreed humans again in near future" trope

So why would Alpha Flight and S.H.I.E.L.D. ally themselves with two known terrorist organizations?

I legit hope Reed Richards BTFO of the X-Men

Ok. So the X-Men want to monopolize all Omega Level mutants.

It's more like this organization has recruited bigots from those different organizations.

I mean that's not the only concept clearly

Oh yeah, I'm sure Tony just.. left it hanging there. Oh no, it got stolen and is being used to kill Muties. Oh Heavens, Tony would never condone that. What a tragedy. Wew...

X is the maker cosplaying as professor x.

Hickman has a boner for creepy, dangerously smart people

it's just former members I think, not the whole organizations joining

I liked it.
>sets up possible future issues with the Fantastic Four
>left me wanting more after setting up some interesting plot points (Orchis, Will the nations of the world accept the offer?, What exactly is going on with Xavier?)
>Kept things very simple and clean which makes it feel like an honest reboot attempt
>Undid alot (all?) of Rosenberg's mutant slaughter

>Celestial size Sentinels
Well, fuck.

Okay now that makes total sense.

I mean it's completely reasonable for intelligence agencies to monitor the new nation-state of superpowered people.

It's a foundation. It's a new status quo for now. The writing is top notch. Kind of boring but there's some good interactions. It's a promising start.

And I'll always be wondering how many actual pages are eaten up by these info dumps and summaries and charts.

Ok ,anyone , how the fuck do you translate this ,is there a graph for something like this or what?

>separate Yugoslavia states but no Eritrea
>not a single fictional country like Latveria, Slorenia or Wakanda
>TWO Canadas and half Japan
What the fuck?

I am glad the guy of this talent is doing Comics instead of novels. I would love to see him write a screenplay of a Marvel movie though. Or better , a videogame.

Interesting start. I like to see where it goes.

They'll either print one or someone will transpose it
It probably just says some variation of 'next time in Powers of X / House of X issue whatever'

>its xmen team up with villains against humanity episode

And marvel expect us to see them as heroes

>Both Xorns are back.
Ahahahaha.

HOW MUCH ARE THEY GOING TO BREED JEAN AND EMMA ??

eh, isn't Esme the one who is "mutantkind uber alles?"

fuck I love scott

way to fuck your diplomacy roll, Chuck

I'd like it if he'd write one in addition to his comics work

Because he is actually Xorn’s Brother in disguise.

Based Maker

I'm really glad this didn't blow up into a retarded fight scene. This was refreshing

>Why did they even send him on a "stealth" mission?

Or why the fuck would you think that as a black ops team the best way to exfil from a botched mission was to run straight to the giant public gateway that's linked to the X-men, if this was a secret mission. I mean, for fucks sake, you had MYSTIQUE there, she could have just blended to the crowd and escaped, and left Creed and Toad to get caught and then quietly freed later.

Instead we get his really hamfisted way to establish things.

Oh Magneto, you psychotic little shit, you.

So Franklin was in red because he was aligned with humans, which I'm assuming is meant to represent a potential enemy. Going by that, I'm assuming the issues highlighted in red are big conflict issues. Or. Human centric issues, with a focus on Orchis shenanigans maybe.

Loved it, thanks OP.

Since when is Vulcan alive again?

>Xorn
Yay

Since the same time fucking Esme and Sophie and Banshee and Xorn and Xorn and every other fucker Hickman is bringing back

I don't like it, because it makes the x-men genocidial maniacs AGAIN. so fuck you

Well I already know from past experience this will end in disappointment.

Sure, there are some cool ideas here superficially, but like always, you've seen it all before in one form or another. I mean, Master Mold? Sabretooth, Magneto and Mystique working with the X-men? None of this is new. Even Krakoa being an island nation isn't that new of an idea because it's just a mix of Asteroid M from Fraction's run and Krakoa jr. being the land surrounding the school from Aaron's X-men. And then there's the whole embassy shit that Morrison did in his run when Xavier went public with being a mutant and opened X-embassies for mutants.

At this moment I am not convinced any of this will have any lasting impact, so I am not impressed. There's barely a story here so far.

Jeez Erik, not for lack of trying on your part for sure

>I thought that SHIELD was still disbanded, and HAMMER was disbanded years ago.

I think the idea is that this organization went through the personnel files of these organizations and selected particularly skilled and useful staff members, irrespective of what's become of them since. Presumably the members of disbanded organizations are more likely to have the free time to commit to a project like this anyway.

So /ss/ now?

Fuck off faggot. Go read indie shit.

So Exodus has Omega-level telekinesis, on top of his dozen other powers.

This. This is why mutants are seen as menaces. They should never side with people just because they're mutants.

>Warpath Sr. stays dead
>again

It's been done before.

I really like the fact that Erik's new outfit looks more silvery and metallic rather than just white fabric. It's a smart touch.

it's not 616

Well, we have at least three letters in the chart early in this issue, using the names of the drugs, giving us the letters for M, I, and L.

I suspect it probably is the equivalent of a "to be continued," or something like that, but I'm currently on a PC with only one monitor, so I don't feel like laying it out and engaging substitution to figure out what the rest of the words may be.

That said, this is Yea Forums, so surely some autist will do so.

What a twist!

10/10

But didn't Xorn genocide New York while pretending to be Magneto? Are the human concentration camps he set up not supposed to be "making slaves of the vanquished"?

so, it was garbage in other words?

I REALLY REALLY HATE THAT THE X-MEN ARE GOING TO BE VILLAINS AGAIN

Telepaths genocide fucking when

It's definitely exciting! There's loads and loads of big stuff going on here. The sort of bold, visionary madness which I expect from Hickman. It will be very interesting to see the ripples that all of this will have in years to come.

I think there all clones now....

jesus christ, less shilling please, nobody talks like that

WAIT
is this Charles or Maker?? Tf?

spiderman is garbage,
this is beautiful

someone already did on cbr forums

But they were clones already....

I have a feeling that we'll have a decimation 2.0 for fuck sake

Okay , I just done some autistic work trying to match the words for like half a hour ,and I think I got it.The first one says:

NEXT :ITS NOT A DREAM IF ITS REAL

I think the second page says something like:

THEN : THE CURIOUS CASE OF MOIRA X

user, the first 2 pages are dead mutants being reborn.
Hickman is an "it's all canon" kinda guy

>muties are now Nazis^2
Based and Redpilled.

speaking of which, wouldn't they be omega level? they weren't on the list

Agreed. Also felt really nice to have a Scott thats just... at ease. Confident without the mania or douchebaggery.

IT'S FUCKING AVX ALL OVER AGAIN. FOR FUCK SAAAAAAAAKE

>the maker the maker
Stop this shit you idiots, it's such a lazy twist. Charles was able to walk after taking Fantomex's body and he's clearly wearing a portable Cerebro

It's shit

Not to mention, I highly doubt Cates would be allowed to use the Maker in his Venom run if Hickman wanted to use him.

Yeah but this time it'll be good

What if Maker was actually Xavier's clone in Reed's body all this time?

HOW COME? DON'T LIE TO ME user. 10 YEARS OF CRAP WAS TOO MUCH FOR ME AND IT BROKE MY KEYBOARD

It's way too early for that sort of thing to happen. And you already had a small action scene in Sabretooth and co. escaping. The scene with Scott was there just for the "this ain't yo momma's X-men!" moment. It's blatantly obvious how the entire issue was paced.

They're just memeing. I doubt anyone is dumb enough to actually think its Ultimate Reed.

this. its just that xavier looks too much like the maker.

Obviously.

But if this was an Aaron or Rosenberg or whatever shitty Marvel writer comic, Scott and the F4 would've totally been fighting.

Thats why its refreshing. For once, not having the stupid fights shoehorned in and fucking up the story pacing.

Who put him in charge. He is fucking up.

Hickman is our saviour.
Unless you disliked his F4/FF, at which point I'm sorry

We know Charles did that but the maker would be the only one who’d be fucking with the ff cause he wants reeds son and the maker always has some kind of role in Hickman shit

>We've abandoned the jews
uhhhhhhh magneto...

I loved them, but the story feels redundant

Excellent start. Got through a lot of set up effortlessly through perfect characterization.

youtube.com/watch?v=vkOJ9uNj9EY

Cates is barley using the maker maker is just a tool in the venom run. He’s not even main villain there . Main villain is carnage/knull . Maker just told Eddie he had cancer

but does it feel fresh? I don't think so

what was the decryption key you figured? was it just the letters in the issue?

Am I the only one who loves the "They're all plants" pun?

ah so they're using a single character to represent the voiced th sound. those do look like the upcoming titles

diff user, hickman posted some teaser in that langauge and some autist figured it out. I guess that it's used for decyphering

I do. Self assured momentum, no more fucking around. A grand unifying theory.

Well ,yeah , just the letters that appeared on the issue , with some guesswork on the rest.

Thanks OP! Will buy the collected edition when it comes out.

>House of M
Hmmm

the fuck? are you high user?

The best X-Men comic since Remender, and without that, probably the best since Morrison. It's so, so refreshing to see the set-up performed so effortlessly by just placing the characters in the prime positions & getting the characterisation perfected. The hints at what's to come are really interesting, and Scotts few pages were amazing.

I'm not really sold on Magneto though.

Calm down, Cap.

buy two copies fellow user. we are both anons, and we support comics by buying them, right?

Well, yeah but i stand by it. It's clearly a new epoch for mutants, night and day from just one week ago.

I feel like you are saying that because it's HICKMAN, but okay, the time will sift the shills from the actual reactions

>Well, yeah
Have a good trip then

Is it? That seems like Scott & Jean and they're very much alive.

>unironically enjoying something is not a valid reaction
wew

>I feel like you are saying that because it's HICKMAN, but okay, the time will sift the shills from the actual reactions
I'm saying that because the writing was great & it's by Hickman, yeah.

Attached: 1562715847271.png (356x329, 81K)

I only want to understand. For me it was so-so. Not bad, but certainly not worth the hype. Albeit I liked the charts

How was everything else perfect but Magneto was lacking?

Since when is Toad a master hacker?

>Hyperstorm
I always wondered why nobody ever used him again. He's basically the most powerful mutant in the multiverse and carries a lot of drama with him given his parentage.

Since Hickman needed a B-list Brotherhood of Evil member for the role.

Cool, so I can ignore every other x-men comic and get a complete story?

So I guess this means tha Cable, Stryfe, and Rachel Summers aren't Omega-level after all.

because writers, including hickman, concentrate only on the more known characters

No mention of Apocalypse either, so he's not an Omega?

Name of the portal is GALM. Is 'galm' just gibberish, or is it actually a reference to something.

You'd think he'd switch the name and alias columns.

Especially since its implied that the rebirth is happening in the present while Scott is dealing with the F4 and Mags is fucking with the ambassadors.

The red eye flash makes me think that maybe the guy is Vulcan reborn.

>Storm is Omega level
Since when?

>Have a good trip
Thanks user, but it's really not like that

Please, Hickman. Take Franklin away from Slott.

...since forever?

can storm do shit in space

Strangereal?

>the heart
Up to a shitty start from the very first page, it seems

>can't create a distinct culture without your own language
Hickman you know the real world contradicts that

Yes, because writers seem to think that solar wind is actual wind.

Stop it. Just stop this denial.

This, Mexico clearly has a different culture to Spain, Brazil has a different culture to Portugal, the Congo has a different culture to France, and the United States has a different culture to the United Kingdom.
The mutants can speak the same language as the humans and still have your own culture.

read more comics outside of capeshit you fucking pleb

Yep, Scott's Franklin line was more effective than a punch blast

>how? There aren't that many mutants now, and there are over 7 billion humans on Earth, most of whom will still be alive in 20 years.
One of Hickman's charts sort of provides a hand waving rationale.

You also have very obviously "House of X" in that language at the beginning, which means more letters.

Show of strength, this is not a negotiation.

I'm surprised to see some readers on the mutants side. They are clearly the threat here. The threat "we are not hostile, you are the hostile ones, we are just going to replace you" has been used before by communists, nazis, islamists and probably every autocrat bound on world domination.

This shit was self-indulgent in The Ultimates, it is self-indulgent now.

It's matter of necessity, expertise and resourcing also see Operation Paperclip.

since here they're being resurrected by the island

>PREVIOUSLY ON HICKS-MEN!

They're secluding themselves and not bothering anyone. Mutants replacing humans is happening more or less naturally. There's no actual force involved besides the threat of violence if humans try some shit, but that's just self defense 101.

I should reread Ultimates desu.
What's pre-reading again? Millar Ultimate FF?

wait wait wait, does it mean that the x-men are canonically becoming its own universe separate from marvel?

Mutants have earned it

The 'we are going to replace you' bit isn't meant to be taken as being replaced by force. Its a 'we are going to replace you because mutants will keep on activating and one day you will all be mutants as well'.

Since doing a copy/paste was apparently master hacking. The other mutants there are all a century old. Toad's probably just the most computer literate by default and enjoys bullshitting them.

I have. Not a fan of his X-monkeys and thier gangrape.

I've been off the books for a while, does Xavier in Fantomex's body actually have his psychic powers, or Fantomex's ones?

who gives a fuck?

>Charles was able to walk after taking Fantomex's body
He's not in Fantomex's body though.

What does he hide in his pockets?

Nothing. He just thinks they look cool.

>that mess up the timeline of the rest of the Marvel Universe?
No one gives a fuck about your toys' continuity dude

She's always been alpha level, but she could reasonably get to omega level if she ever went full transhuman. Since the term omega level doesn't generally mean shit it's not completely unreasonable to place her there.

>Holocaust survivor suddenly shows up in Jerusalem and acts like he owns the place telling previous inhabitants in front of some mosques his people are boss now
I genuinely can't tell whether they really thought these pages' implcations through or they didn't AT ALL

Attached: halal.jpg (640x539, 80K)

Base Apocalypse was mostly super strength and grey skin. He's powered up by celestial nanobots to be far stronger than he's supposed to be.

Oh look, the false human/mutant dichotomy again.

no super strenght, but he had weird shapeshifting powers, the rest of your post is correct

Look I got to read the Fantastic Four written by Hickman in this issue so I thought that it was pretty damned good.

Also liked the the Cyclops scene too.

I guess it's a good thing they have Storm since they're in typhoon territory.

Apocalypse is enhanced by celestial tech and Cable's technoorganic virus.

Mars is still green after the iccident with Ex Nihilo.
Neat.

Why Hickman had to go the AvX route? Why the X-men have to be the assholes? What would be wrong if the X-men just fought the villain of the month like the spider-man? What would be the fucking harm?

>Why the X-men have to be the assholes?
In what way are they the assholes?

You know in hindsight? MAYBE the best PR person for mutants isn’t the guy who decided to call his well-intentioned activist group “The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants”. Really, really should’ve workshopped that one Erik.

W-what happened to Japan?
Also, independent Northern Territories of Canada.

Last time I bothered with the X-Men, Xavier had been dead for a while, Nate Grey had whisked most of them off to a fantasy land, while the rest were getting murdered in the real world and Cyclops with Wolverine teamed up. How did we go from there to this?

Wasn't Carousel one of Fury's secret base in Secret Warriors?

Maybe they found out from Thor that the gods aren't allowed to interfere in mutant affairs? The real problem is that the Celestials had a big public fallout on Earth so the gods might realize that they can do whatever the fuck they want now.

X-Men were about unity, not us vs them. Again, they go full "we homo superior" mode and it's tiresome. X-Men were selfless heroes, not supremacists

Wow.

I mean, wow.

Your reading comprehension is so dogshit, its off the charts.

I think he would be better if he was just doing RPG settings.

Who cares? Not me

What's interesting here is that they're claiming it took 6 months to build their Orchis. That means they started about a month before Xavier started his plan?

He's been in Fantomex' body since the recent Astonishing X-Men volume. Its literally how they brought him back.

Hickman, it's like you can't stop thinking about the charts, even when you're insulting anons

No they weren't. You have thousands of bland selfless heros, these are an advanced race with God powers who were once driven to near extinction. Their stories should reflect and advance that.

NO, fuck you, that's not what the x-men are about. Magneto, maybe. But not the x-men. Anyone who says that, doesn't understand x-men

Most of Hickman's work sounds like a dumb man trying to sound smart. This is very much the same. Every other page was me (and other anons) pointing out a logical flaw or WTF moment that justifies everything the antagonists normally do in a modern X-men comic.

It got destroied at the end of Time Runs Out

>Most of Hickman's work sounds like a dumb man trying to sound smart
SO MUCH THIS

This is precisely why no one uses him.

>Mothermold
Nice

>Omega Sentinel is back
That's good!

>She bald
That's bad...

>Every other page was me pointing out a logical flaw
lmao fuck off Poindexter
X gon' give to you

Don't get me wrong, this is the setup for the story I've wanted the X-Men to tell for years. But still, I'd be interested to know how they retconned the previous mess.

Ah, Morrison is back baby! Bless ya Hick.

>Inviting HYDRA to the party
nice, can't wait for those autists to try and take over the world through this project again

No he hasn't, trust me I know what I'm talking about.
1) The Shadow King posing as Xavier lied to the Astonishing team telling them that he had taken on Fantomex's body, that Fantomex was chilling out on the astral plane and was completely fine about the whole incident.
2) Then in the last issue of that run when the real Xavier was restored to *that body* he informed Gambit that Fantomex is in fact still alive and somewhere and tasked Gambit to go and find him because Gambit still had a debt to pay to Fantomex.
3) Now in the new Captain America / Wolverine mini Weapon Plus #1 we learn that Fantomex died off panel without any explanation.

>Mutants are attempting to become ((they))

That was Xorn's brother.

love too see people think they're pointing out flaws when storytelling 101 is having your characters make decisions or work with certain people to introduce conflict

Why is Toad Jeff Goldblum?

there are questions without answers

Stoked that this story will be told weekly for the next three months.

Attached: 4D754FC6-40D9-4A36-9452-8356118F9A6B.jpg (1920x1280, 876K)

The intro scene looks too much like inhumans

This is a long con by the Maker

Is that Ultimate Xorn?

many people are forgetting this is the first issue in a long run. What we see here isn't the complete status quo yet. There's more complications to be introduced

is this legit
might make it my cover on facebook

oooh no. Not this bullshit again. Hick, for the mother God.

Lmao.

>There has never been a mutant war, Ambassador
Pretty sure there have been. If not, I'm fairly certain you spent most of your life trying to fucking instigate one, Erik, you cunt.

>Expect Hickman to finally make the X-men the heroes they've needed to be for the last two goddamn decades
>Goes all in on them being a bunch of megalomaniacal master race fucks
They better be fucking brainwashed and this better be pay off other than mutants whining about humans not spreading their buttcheeks and taking their dictatorship like with AvX

yup, X-Men are immortal now, just resurrect anyone

Magneto powers are, of course, not a weapon.

good. Prevents cheap death from being a storytelling device

So why are we not supposed to cheer for the mutants to get killed again

it's funny that Jamie Braddock gets a nickname (Monarch) after all these years, meanwhile, we still don't know the real name of Forge

BASED HICKMAN

Is anyone else getting a 'Warning: Potential Security Risk' pop-up when you click on images??

Right, what could possibly go wrong here.

yeah, but I bet a lot of humans keep going "la la la, I don't hear you, only my god is a real god"

Ball bearings.

Even when the X-Men and mutants as a whole are at their most unlikable, Telepaths manage to pull ahead as the most unlikable amongst the unlikable.

ffs just label these characters jesus christ.

Mutants are such assholes

I know people hate these but I can't help but think the symbols mean things and carry implications.

what happened to Genosha?

this is a good Carrot and Stick

>it's a "mutants are being asshole supremacists again" episode

to be fair, if muties wanted you dead, they could do it anyway

Half of X-men fans self insert as the mutants

Morrison happend. E for Extinction happened

because some of thought that X-Men were going to be Great Again

Why would this exist? Isn't this Tony's Incursion weapon that I would think not re-appear post Secret Wars or is this something else?

its probably gibberish

Completely destroyed in Rosenburg's Uncanny run

Yet every X-men writer and character fails to fucking verbalize it in any way other than violent and unpleasant terms it's always "Step aside and bow your head and maybe we'll let you live"

Hickman has said that Cypher is the most under rated mutant, get ready for some weird shit from him

I think this'll be a good run, but I miss when the X-Men were good guys and less fixated on how superior they are to humans and threatening everybody

>Sending fucking Magneto to be your diplomat
nice

I hate this design for Jean, I always have. Why go back to such a bad design? Just cause it's classic? Classic isn't always good

my guy couldn't even go a whole exchange without falling back into "WE ARE THE FUTURE CHARLES NOT THEM"

I miss it too. And this run is going to continue the damage that was done in the last 10 years. I see that the x-men are not going to be fixed ever

why wouldn't Stark and Reed's companies own those? They both highly regard Parker as well, why not include him?

Oh no! Those bastards are going to destabilize the pharma industries by HEALING SICK PEOPLE! Unacceptable! Time for some genocide!

It's really bad, I don't get it. It completely doesn't work visually alongside everything else too.

my guess is that's not Scott but Mystique

Which is why Magneto of all people shouldn't be offended that someone brought a gun amused maybe but not offended

Oh, I see. So you're retarded. Gotcha.

Does anyone actually still support the X-Men anymore or are we just finding enjoyment in watching them attempt to dominate humanity only to fail miserably to the status quo time and time again?

Attached: 1561350517788.png (733x1200, 565K)

So when are they gonna do something stupid like bringing back James Jaspers?

I don't even know anymore. The writers and editors are fucked in the head, that's all I know

We already know they're gonna lose because we've seen the future already in Hickman's Avengers and FF and it's the same each time, humans and mutants merge, there's no ethnic domination.
However, this will be really fun to watch.

This might be the first self aware Hickman joke.

what would be his nickname? "Crazy gang"?

>thought that X-Men were going to be Great Again
Every time, every time we get a new status quo I get my hopes up and they get dashed upon the rocks. Can't I just get some mutant superheros fighting evil fucks and winning the popular support of humanity by being cool super people, is that so fucking hard Every X-men story really is the same

>Waaaahhhh! I just got served with facts and I don't like it. I know! I'll call him a retard there that will show him!

True.

This time, however, Hickman has literally spelled it out for all the brain dead readers with the whole mutants will be the dominant species in 20 years thing.

You have to be a special kind of moron to not be able to put 2 and 2 together after that.

>Days Since Last Mutant Supremacist Revolution: 0
>Days Since Last Independent Mutant Nation: 0

The part that really annoys me is that the mutants who aren't in the X-men but were loved by the general populace are now hated due to all the mutant hysteria caused by the X-men.

What do you want? Them to start culling their own? There is unity here, nature and evolution are aiming to unite humanity as homo superior, the only thing stopping nature is humanity.

They're not fighting back, they're standing their ground and helping who they can but evolution is evolution

You keep making the same post over and over again. We get it. You long for a time in X history that barely even existed. Claremont had a wider imagination than that and in large part so did Kirby and Lee, Morrison, Whedon, Fraction, Bendis, and most notable X writers did as well. The X-Men are about more than catching bank robbers.

>mutant hysteria caused by the X-men
It's not even by X-Men themselves, so much as by the villains they keep forgiving and recruiting onto their teams.

That happens all the time anyway. Normies supported Revolution Cyclops while SHIELD were keeping Sentinels on standby and other X-Men factions were foaming at the mouth comparing him to Hitler

I'd be willing to give him a shot, but comic book writers don't make the best long form writers, and long form writers don't make the best comic book writers. It's rare to see a guy like Gaiman who can do both pretty well, Moore had a big dud in Jerusalem; Palahniuk, Scott Card and Coates were super awkward writing sequential.

and there are Mutants who are just as powerful as Thor, what seperates them from actual gods?

I want to protecc happy Logan.

>people surprised or dissapointed that Hickman is doing an evolution story as opposed to a new badguy to beat up
Hickmans Marvel stuff has always been about going the next logical/cosmic step
F4 became the FF
Avengers became the interplanetary/multiversal problem solving Avengers
X-Men's next most logical path is dealin with the evolution

Logan happily playing with kids has to be the biggest tell that something is horribly wrong in the entire thing

Czechoslovakia, eh?

They could have evolved into something other than assholes.
I don't mind the direction, I mind the attitudes. They're not exactly rootable. I found myself rooting for the agents in this.

What could possibly go wrong with all the telepaths and reality manipulators on one island?

>power of x shows mutants dying
So
Either
>Charlie, Jean or Cypher are gonna die so that mutants can't continue to be reborn
>Krakoa gets destroyed
>Doesn't matter that mutants are dying in PoX, they're infinite in number

Or maybe the medicine actually forces X gene activation in people who have an inactive X gene. That could be an easy way to push an explosive growth in mutant population during this story.

>Israel
Is Hickman jew by any chance?

How does building a nation where they're free from persecution make them genocidal?

Magneto is naturally an asshole but I do think it's weird that Scott is giving him amnesty. Though Xavier is still giving humanity help with the pills.
Apparently HoX is a straight forward story but PoX explores mutant history so hopefully we'll get a look into the 5 months that passed so we can get a better understanding of why all of mutant kind is so adamant in their ways

no you shouldn't

This was crap. I don't want a book about the brotherhood. I want a book about the Xmen and their goal of cohabitation. But I guess every modern writer has forgotten what Xmen is actually about

real easy to take the moral highground on weapons when you can fucking annihilate metal with your mind, Mags.

I always wondered if telepaths casually look at the moments you fapped, when they browse your mind

Say it a couple times more

If flatscans weren't always trying to kill Mutants just cos they're mutants (like, say, rednecks murdering a little girl cos she has an extra arm or some dude cos he's furry, or someone who can change color), instead of just going for direct menaces (Mr. Sinister, frex), maybe the X-Men wouldn't feel that they needed to.

Or
>Power of X takes place before House of X

What's worse is that hickman claims to love the x-men, yet, he missed the point so much it probably landed outside of his chart

I'm sure Emma and the Cuckoos have used that against people on multiple occasions

He was still a mutant

One issue in...
>Hackman knows nothing about X-Men!
Okay friend

Why do you suck so much dick?

That's not what the x-men are about casual. I'll find you a page in a moment

If that's the case then just have it give everyone super powers

I know that feel too, user.

Ultimate Xorn/Zorn

wtf, when did they enter 616 and become mutants?

The guys in the satellite were part of an anti-mutant group?

>Following the defeat of the Red Onslaught, a powerful form of the Skull, Magneto returned to Genosha and began rebuilding it once again.

>However, his fledgling mutant community in Genosha perished when the Terrigen Mist cloud swept over it, causing sixty of the mutants present take ill and die. Magneto continued to inhabit Genosha, making it the base of operations for his new team of X-Men.

>Unbeknownst to the rest of his team, however, Magneto had planted a series of explosives around Genosha. When the Dark Riders attacked, Magneto and his X-Men defeated them, and then detonated the explosions, sinking the island of Genosha and killing the riders, while simultaneously sending a message to the rest of the world

Well, this is Hickman.

I forgot about the terrigen mist, is that still canon? can imagine this new Mutant nation letting that one go.

Thing is, those dialects developed naturally over hundreds of years, some island didn't suddenly say THIS IS A LANGUAGE I JUST MADE UP, LEARN IT.

It's psychic powers, I don't gotta explain shit.

Just because their satellite has the head of a giant mutant-genociding robot doesn't mean that they're an anti-mutant group. Next you'll say that people with swastikas tattoos are nazis or something.

That's why it's creepy and 99% some flytrap cosmic horror trying to mindfuck muties and kill all humans.

>Though Xavier is still giving humanity help with the pills.

With the way the stories going i expect those pills to ether sterilize humanity or make sure the next generation or 2 are all mutants

It's still canon. The mutant nation expects an amnesty, so odds are it goes both ways. If Attilan recognizes Krakoa, bygones are bygones. Whether or not Hickman will actually acknowledge the Inhumans is another story.

The mists were destroyed at the end of that story so it's no longer an issue

Hickman was the one who created universal inhumans, and he basically had the terrigen unleashed in his infinity event, I think he will

they still murdered a whole bunch of mutants, anyone got that image of all the inhuman playing around while the mutants look at their dead?

>cures diseases of the mind (in humans)
Do mutants not get diseases of the mind?
More importantly, I assume that this would cure schizophrenia, but what about depression? And what would it do to somebody with austism or Down's Syndrome?

>he basically had the terrigen unleashed in his infinity event, I think he will
I don't think he will. The Inhumanity part was clearly mandated from above.

NOW this is a Hickman comic.

I liked this issue a lot, so I'm all in for Mr. Hickman's wild ride.

Attached: 1506698700086.png (800x800, 105K)

>house of M
That's a dangerous name to just hand out.

Please. You could tell he knows nothing about the Xmen when he said that their costumes are their mutant outfits and that he doesn't like non mutants on the Xmen

Have been away from comics for a couple of years. I've been trying to piece together what Xavier has been up to since he was resurrected in Fantomex's body (?? right), but I can't. So has there been any indication to what he's been doing since then, or is this supposed to fill in that gap?

>AvX rehash
The futuristic parts where Cyclops creates a new nation with godly powers were all Hickman, so he's copying himself at least.

he did nothing. happy?

good point I forgot avx had numerous writers. it was also the best issue out of all of avx

>I assume that this would cure schizophrenia, but what about depression?
I'm guessing there is no real though put into it but something along the lines of "it corrects whatever lack of chemical receptor or producer that is the underlying cause of the condition"
And what would it do to somebody with austism or Down's Syndrome?
Those aren't mental diseases except they express as mentally deficient, those are broad failures of the genes themselves.

So how do they make new inhumans?

>xron zorn and magneto on the same page
Anyone else we want to bring to the party?

You seem under the impression that a writer should be a slave to the story and not the other way around.

Oh come ON.

Is that Ultimate Richards aka Maker? Why is he leading the muties?

>Grant magics in the distance

thanks

Pretty sure that they currently don't. Medusa was the one who dropped the hammer to destroy the remaining mists after finding out what they were doing to mutants.

As setup it was good, three main issues though. One, you can pretty much guess that "do you want the rest of the world to unleash their superpowered agents and supertech on your shit? Because that's how you get the rest of the world's superpowered agents and supertech on your shit" is the logical endgame of the setup and, without a good deal of writing on the back end to avert it, not having it happen or turning it into a curbstomp will be incredibly unfulfilling. Two, one issue in and he's already overplaying telepathy. Three, he's basically canonizing the interpretation of the X-Men as a violent, isolated, aggressive, paramilitary cult who brainwashes kids and turns them into child soldiers.

mindraped his old pals in an annual to make them see that he didn't force them to do anything and was right all along
either save the world or die with it

Its a shame than that he doesn't want to write the Xmen than. This would be a great brotherhood story. But I guess Xmen sell better

That's sort of what things were like as far back as the early 90s. The civil rights movement had made them calm down a bit for whatever reason.
Most humans are/were perfectly fine with mutants and would side with them.
Nowadays mutants have become such assholes that the greater civilian population doesn't have their back anymore.

Weird, or completely normal?
Like, if Thor is a god, what exactly is keeping Magneto or fucking Iceman out?

They're all here bros

Shit like that rolls off Magento's tongue practically everyday

Well, at least it isn't mixing the Summers and Pym bloodlines.

That's professor X you dum-dum

(I was confused too at first)

They looted new mists from the race that created the Kree and it turns out that the throne was literally made of terrigen the whole time.

Man, if only they had helmets like Magneto.

>undefinable upper limits
Because you can't define a limit on the extent to which Storm can control the weather.
Serious dude, reading comprehension

And...?

I like that whenever mutants are left to their devices for any extended period they form a sovereign nation state with it's own active military that ignores international law.

I think it's because fans becomes writers and see the X-Men as a "secret club" for cool and special people and normies can keep out.

Or psi-shields like the Hellfire Club.

Jerusalem was fairly well-reviewed and Coates wasn't even a long-form writer, he was an essayist, and he's significantly improved since he first started.

This. Marvel is finished

kino

Dang, you seem pretty flustered right now. Call me a casual if you want, but I think literal decades of stories about failed integration and groveling could lead to mutants trying to negotiate from a position of strength.

Nothing about Hickman's story so far suggests that mutants are no longer helping humans, and we don't know where this story will lead, but you just keep spending your day cursing at strangers because you're mad at a story.

Not that long ago we had a plot line about nanosentinels making people want to kill mutants and now we get a pill that instant cures all mental health issues? It's straight up mindcontrol. The adaptive antibiotic they mention is either going to be reprogrammed nanosentinel tech or Krakoa bits.

Krakoa is nothing but eyes and overgrowth this issue.

We've gotten decades of failed mutant homelands and aggressive posturing too.

Just "Mad Jim" would work -- the power classification would be the interesting part; "Reality Manipulation" but in what form?

I want to see The Fury though -- Hickman seems like he'd have a mad boner for putting the Fury eye-mark all over his charts.

String -- or nothing!

there is naive, and there is (you). we've seen it already

>ethnostates are totally rad kids
cringe

nice page

Orchis is doing nothing wrong and if you disagree you are a disgusting race traitor.

Mutants are humans, with birth-defects...or superpowers, goddammit.

We young justice now boys

If you can't integrate into the society even after decades, maybe humans aren't the problem.

Let's see what Gladiator and Cuckagar Cuktagon thing of that amnisty.

And there's an interesting point to make here -- Jamie Braddock is fucking mental on a good day, why bring HIM back and not someone like Jaspers?

Because he's the brother of Betsy? Because they've filled the Reality Warper Quota? Is this social eugenics? Eugenic logistics?

I know the simple answer is because he's a walking universal extinction event in a trilby and a herringbone suit, but this sort of question applies to all mutants.

"We don't need another negative temperature manipulator, we have Bobby and Oya"

I think it's just an error.

Just answer this quickly and honestly.

Do you support gun control? Because if so you cannot be against mutant/meta registration. The racism angle has always been retarded because their mutations are no different from regular capes. So be consistent.

We've seen everything under the sun at this point. I'm sure we'll get more idealistic X-Men stories by another writer, or even by Johnny Hicks, but for now, this is an interesting execution of a good idea.

it isn't, it was done already multiple times. as a matter of fact we had the same exact story for the last 19 years

>we telepathically imprint the language on every mutant who comes here
no way that can go wrong

What about non mutant kids from mutant parents? Like some of the Bohusk kids
Or depowered mutants like Prodigy?
Or long time allies like Shatterstar?

Why the fuck would you want a mentally unstable reality warper at all?

damn inhuwars

Hickman/10
those who like hickman will like it. It's to early to tell really but I don't the direction it seems to be heading in. Maybe he'll surprise me and he won't drop the ball like he last time he decided to change the status quo.

That’s just Kuan Yin Xorn and Shen Xorn. Hickman didn’t split Xorn into two for Ultimates. The brothers were already a thing in the 616.

>Proteus allied with Krakoa
>Krakoa generally collecting Omega-level mutants
concerning!

>people already turned on Hackman
top kek

They're ALL mentally unstable, that's the thing.

Jamie was a pretty morally bankrupt guy (white slave trader) who was tortured into insanity and his powers just made it worse.

Proteus is driven by sheer hunger and straight up murders people and warps them for fun.

Legion is Legion.

Franklin Richards is a child, so more emotionally unstable.

Mad Jim was arguably the sanest of the lot but was pretty corrupt and his powers made him madder each time he used them.

It's all superpowers cold war and social eugenics, that's what Omega Mutants are really.

Replace as dominant specie. There will be more humans, but there are far more arthropods than humans, and guess who is the king.

you must have not seen the avengers threads

it's definitely a Hickman book

Based Hickman.

It'll probably be explained in upcoming issues

Maybe he's fleshing out the stabilization thing she did for the lights as more than a one off thing. Or it's manipulation like Pyro gets where she can do crazy stuff with powers presented to her but can't create them on her own like Legion would.

When Hicksman wrote the Illuminati in New Avengers he turned them into world destroyers. Idealist Captain America was himself written as a villain leading to Spencer's event. It's clear the X-Men are the villains here: granting amnesty to serial murderers, stealing Richards' stuff, smugly taunting the FF and the ambassadors and presenting themselves as the new gods of humanity. They are clearly not keeping secluded in any way, they take aggressive actions in foreign countries, violating laws and Magneto's taunt would incite riots throughout the region if it was made public. I expect Professor X not to be Professor X and even the headless characters on the first pages not be who they seem to be. I also expect there is some mind control going on through Krakatoa. There are also three reality manipulators on that list.
Last to those who claim it's natural evolution. It is not. Evolution is not destiny, communists used to think they were destined to be the end of social progress. Americans and the free world proved this wrong. What makes a species overcome another is natality and fitness to survive, not "activation". It's a grest disservice to science that the X-Men narrative spreads pseudoscience.

>jew acts like he owns the place
Pretty realistic

calm down Hannity

Her power isn't just wireless Rogue, she's also had the subconscious ability make mutants into thralls

>Character has an undefinable upper limit
>Constantly gets their asses kicked
Yeah I'm calling bullshit on the Omega classification.

What happens when she dies?

>they were all wiped out
Yes but who cares. Secret Wars happened I want Hickman to write him and Abyss again. I mean they are literally the embodiements of evolution.

So this is my theory:
>PoX will be taking place in the future (which explains the OCs) while at the same time following the present X-Men during the 5 months that passed
>PoX #2 will feature "the most important moment in X-Men history"
>HoX #5 will have most of the mutants united, (even Apocalypse is with them)
>PoX #6 will have the pre-HoX X-Men being reborn and embracing villainy
(As seen in these pages )

Maybe I just haven't read anything with Xavier in it in a long time but sending out murderers on secret missions and then trying to apply amnesty, sending magneto to shakedown government ambassadors and threaten them into compliance and creating a supercure to dangle over the heads of humans for leverage all done sound very Xavier school of mutant diplomacy. It sounds like Magneto making Genosha.

I think Hickman is aware enough of X-Men as a brand to know not to just restep old ground.
The guys got a multi-year plan ahead of him so everything were questioning will probably be explained

Why are you comparing a natural evolution to a man made ideology?
The mutants have the fitness to survive, they always have, it's their choice not to wipe out humanity in a survival of the fittest situation. If Xavier didn't want unity or any of that then muties could probably wipe out humanity pretty quick

Hickman himself said Omega Level mutants and classification is bullshit as a concept but hey if you gotta make it work

>New Avengers he turned them into world savers
ftfy

>Wanting to give the guy that eats people amnesty

>Telepaths reading the minds of diplomats

Can someone just genocide the fucking muties already?

this doesn't matter anymore none of this matter it just return back to status quo.

But its so fucking stupid.

Remember all those times Magneto got his ass kicked?

There's your limit.

Fucking Storm is on the list. You beat her by putting her in a box.

She's not even bulletproof. What the actual fuck?

They tell one of their reality warpers to get on it.

I could see it, especially since PoX takes place across multiple moments in time.
I imagine the fact Charles is constantly wearing Cerebro is probably pretty important

i support mutants better than that inhumans

They're not even trying to hide their supremacist ideology. Seriously, what kind sane baseline human would ever consider siding with the mutants that honestly sees humans as lesser than them? This is why Senator Kelly and Steven Lang are right. Mutants and humans can't co-exist. Either Homo Sapiens become the next Neanderthal or they prevent the new hominids from dominating and bringing the end of humanity as we know it. There's no middle ground. You're either for the Mutants or for Humanity. Decide already.

Spider-Man is a man child who lost billons of dollars in like a week, and didn't think enough to leave himself enough to be financially secure and now has to live with 3 roommates in a 1 bedroom apartment.

you can't trust him with things of value.

were you born stupid or are you just illiterate

Marvel really should have a character point out that people don't have a problem with mutants and people with superpowers. They have a problem with separatists pricks with superpowers that hand out get-out-of-jail free cards to their own rouges gallery just because they have a mutant pass, and that's what the X-men are.

Proteus is there
Krakoa moves

>Omega classification.
Not getting your ass kicked Omega level power isn't featured on the chart, Omega means unlimited ability to draw upon that power for example Iceman could cause a new ice age if he chose. It's not indicative of how combat proficient the mutant is.

>Seriously, what kind sane baseline human would ever consider siding with the mutants that honestly sees humans as lesser than them?
after 70 years of getting kicked in the teeth while trying to help, is it really so strange for an oppressed class so fight back?

>Muh weather control has no upper limit
Yes it fucking does.

It's a cramped space.

That's your limit.

Storm doesn't have to be outside to control the weather, you donut

So Storm can create a universe-sized storm?

Bullshit.

no upper limit doesn't mean no weaknesses, you fucking donkey

This is what happens when the libshits start pandering and fawning over mutants, give them an inch and they'll take an island.

Cable would be if he wasn't sick with the TO virus, he always using his powers to fight his sickness

Storm's powers are earth bound I believe they are less effective the further from Earth she is, don't quote me on that though.

Doesn't that mean his powers have a limit since they can't overcome the TO?

>No Emma

Soft Reee

If we're to believe the dialogue later in the book, it's utter gibberish and humans will never be able to understand it.

Here's the truth. Power levels in capeshit never matter. The next writer won't give a shit about Hickman's stuff.

Omega Power telepath and Omega Level telepath are two separate things IIRC.

She supposedly actually gets far stronger out in space when you consider the scale of any "storms" she creates out there. IDK if that's what she's naturally able to make when she doesn't have to worry about collateral damage or if writers just didn't realize that anything she manipulates out in space would be bigger than our planet or even solar system.

given that this is Hickman, I wouldn't be surprised if she does that or something like it in one of his patented wild escalations of power levels

It's Sabra; let's be honest, it's always Sabra.

It's not weird at all. it's also not weird as a human to want to see them put down.

Love the imagery of this page.

>muh politics

You people are embarrassing.

>ANOTHER "we wuz juz brainwash mane, we dindu nuffin" x-men story. doubt it, this'll probably just establish a familiar status quo with a vaguely novel villain

This They've got so much fucking power it's not remotely worth worrying about petty concerns like the weather. And if everything goes as they want, the number of new, powerful mutants coming in would easily replace any of their old Omegas that died.

>Drug L Looks like a human profile
>I:???
>M: Smiling person in the negative
>Gateway looks like a foot print
>Habitat is a smaller circle separate from a big parent
>No-place is a smaller circle with no parent, no connection to the whole.

Bastion would insta-cum if he saw this.

>sane baseline human would ever consider siding with the mutants that honestly sees humans as lesser than them?
You can't. Mutants are biologically superior to common humanity. Their unique inherited powers provides them a higher survival rate to the various environmental conditions and hurdles humanity must endure, allowing their genes to propagate at far greater numbers.

One group attempting to live in harmony with another that is clearly superior only results in one group realizing their superiority or inferiority, resulting in conflict. Gundam Seed has an entire premise of how futile it is for normal humans to coexist with genetically modified humans born to be better at them in all aspects.

Supremacy only leads to resentment, which only leads to conflict, where war is the only option. Segregation is the only practical solution in Gundam Seed. And even that failed.
