Despite being a crime boss and being dangerously overprotective of his girlfriend, Edgar isn't that bad compared to the others. He sincerely treated Croc as a friend, ally, and even family. And yet a black eye and sob story is enough to get him killed.

this is a good issue. easily the best of the series

Sure, he treated him that way, but whenever he gets stressed you can see him quick to abuse Croc before he remembers who he's talking to, and he was dishonest when he sent Croc to kill his wife and her boy friend. I doubt he actually saw Croc as family or a friend, he was just smarter then his wife.
