The reason they're going to be hesistant to do something like that is because of Kun Lun pretty much being in Tibet, and a company like Disney wouldn't risk anything pissing off the chinese like that. Its the reason why the ancient one was racebent to tilda (though I do think that making the ancient one any asian would've been far more offensive). I think if they do a buddy cop heros for hire with both cage and iron fist it could work really well, I'm ust not sure how they could do anything more with solo Iron fist because of the stink that normies would put up, since they've never had to think about the historical context of the character

I do think they could write around the tibet connection with Danny, but you would just end up getting more people bitching that he should be asian and that's whats going to stop marvel from doing anything to deep with the character. Shang-Chi was always better than Iron Fist. Shang-Chi can do all the things that Iron Fist can do but with none of the drama and magic dragon chi to amp him up to those levels.
