As it is right now: Akumas dumb, Chat dumb, Ladybug has Object ex Machina powers which allow her to McGuyver her way into a win.

Ideally: Akumas smart, Chat competent, Ladybug keeps her current intellect but gets more control over her powers allowing her to actually decide what object she summons, so she can still McGuyver her way into a victory but this way it feels more deserved and less based on luck.

Season 1 did a decent job of balancing the two of them, even though Marinette was the lead, Adrien still had a pressnce in most episodes and Cat Noir could hold his own and had his moments in battle.

Once they stopped having every episode be a school day and more and more "Marinette goes off on her own on some schnanigans" episodes though he quickly started just making token appearances before transforming and not doing much in battle.

I personally think it's going to come down to Ladybug trying to redeem Gabriel for Adrien's sake. She's already let her love for him interfere with her superhero duties before in episodes like Volpina, so it makes sense that she'd just take the butterfly miraculous and try to sweep this incident under the rug in order to not take Adrien's family away from him.

Alternatively, if they wanted to drag out the love square for a few more seasons they could have an arc where Ladybug does go full justice on Gabriel and Adrien/ Chat Noir ends up hating her for taking both of his parents away from him while at the same time developing a very strong romantic relationship with Marinette. Drama ensues when he finds out who Ladybug really is, of course, and he gets to feel the same sting of betrayal he initially felt upon discovering Hawkmoth and Mayura's true identities.

They're negative chacter traits but everyone that knows them are close friends that she's gone above and beyond to help with their problems and is their personal fashion/baking slave so they're willing to overlook that. Juleka for example isn't going to give her grief over Adrien stuff and flaking out occasionally when Marinette risked getting in trouble to get her a new photo is their bands seamstress and goes out of her way for them all the time.

Plus considering half her friends are now also superheroes (and soon all of them will be) they also lie to her about where they've been from time to time. So they'd also keep that in mind.

Meanwhile anyone who only knows her casually will just see a nice girl who's sweet to everyone. So they won't even be aware of all that.

In Simon Say's Marinette gets in trouble with her parents for never being where she says she is., heavily implying that this is a chronic thing with her. It's not that the lying is compulsive, it's that it must appear that way to her friends and family since they don't know she's Ladybug. As far as they know, she has no real reason to lie yet consistently does so anyway. The whole point of this was that it's not wrong for other characters in the show to dislike Marinette, since, without the knowledge that she's trying to juggle a double life, lot of her behavior is suspect.

Lying about going to your classes when you're not isn't exactly harmless in the eyes of a parent. Sticking your friend with your babysitting duty under obviously false pretenses several times is more than likely to make you come across as an ass.

It was a big enough deal to her parents for them to ground her. It's a big enough deal to Alya for her to not take Marinette's side during Chameleon. Foreshadowing and summaries hint that it's very likely going to be the cause of problems for Marinette in the future. Why is it so hard for you to accept that Marinette juggling a double life might have negative consequences for her reputation? She's basically a magical girl Spiderman, and his secret identity always reaks havoc on his social life.

Stormy Weather 2 had Noroo pointing that Hawkmoth actually can know when Adrien is sad, but he's too focused about Emilie and sure bring her back will make Adrien happy too. So, yeah, Gabriel is a bad dad, but still a dad.

Just for stormy weather 2, not only does it have 0 footage of season 3 but it has the part where sabrina says queen bee's a better hero then ladybug and chloe insults her for implying she's better then ladybug. So apparently chloe is still on her ladybug #1 obsession if you try to say the production order is king.

The only true continuity error is Stormy Weather taking place in the Summer, but Origins having the series start in the Fall. I imagine they didn't bother fixing Stormy's line about the Summer being cancelled when SW went from a pilot episode to actually part of the series.
