Somebody asked Eastman about Venus way back when, and the possibility of her showing up in the IDW universe, and he basically said he was okay with the basic idea of having a female turtle, but if they were to it in IDW, they'd do things very differently.

Venus came from the same shallow Grrl power push as Lola Bunny - better than the boys, and "sexy", but very shallow.
I kinda like what they did with Jennika in contrast. Street kid that fell in with the Foot because they showed her how to be strong and gave her a purpose, then became utterly devoted to Splinter because he gave her purpose AND was kind, and now she's been turned into a mutant but she's not going to be all "you turned me into a monster" because 1 she likes these guys, and 2 it sure beats bleeding to death.

Before you give the movies too much credit, remember that before he became Super Shredder, he was defeated by Michelangelo waling on a keytar. Movie continuity Shredder had entered goofball mode well before Next Mutation.

Actually they are all half-brothers in Rise of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. All of them are different turtle species, but they were all spliced with a piece of Lou Jitsu (AKA: Master Splinter) during their mutation.
The turtle tits are terrifying because the plastrion (front of the shell) can't be removed any more than the back of the shell can. So what's she going to do, lactate inside the shell, where the milk wouldn't be able to get out? That may be someone's fetish, but it's bad design for an animal.
