The allegory they went with isnt even bad in just a political sense, it's so first draft-ish and like a child came up with it, it's almost like this show's equivalent to Dexter and Computress Get Mandark without the self awareness

It doesn't even represent its moral opinion correctly, and fails at being an allegory. For one, the characters are in essentially no danger beyond cosmetic harm. Also the remotes are an easy, mostly ethical and expedient way of dealing with super powered villains. The remotes don't effectively present the negative portions of their treatise properly, and simultaneously support the arguments of their detractors. Static Shock and Gargoyles did theirs better, and I don't even necessarily agree with their conclusions.

I was disappointed in it and stopped watching. I didn’t like the look of the art and all the broad, ironic delivery that veered into sentimental “lessons.” When Ian and CN described it as the kind of cartoon Steven Universe would like watching that should have been a red flag. Steven thinks dad jokes are funny and the cartoons and movies he watches are presented as being either stupid or objectively bad. While they’re funny references in the show, don’t want to watch a real “Crying Breakfast Friends” or “Lonely Blade.” Or Dogcopter.

Ok Ko comes across to me as a show where main creative forces working on it don't really want to put forth their best ideas, likely because they all want their own cartoons, so they create what essentially comes out like a shitpost. There's absolutely nothing original or inventive about the show, and it just panders to millennials with all the references, bootleg characters straight up appearances of shit like Sonic and Ghoul School

Or perhaps I have too much faith in the show's creators that this isn't the extent of their imagination, just wallowing in the commercial products of their childhood. OK KO may just be a result of the prevailing trend in our society towards nostalgia and remakes, and an utter refusal to create original ideas or anything different. The first six or seven episodes of OK KO were lovable. They focused on all kinds of weird side characters around the Plaza. Episodes focusing on Boxman and the robot family are also still hilarious.

Everything else is just....terrible. Boring and bland and the animation gets worse and worse. Its crude drawing style was also done better in the very earliest episodes.

Reminder that it was so dumb and hamfisted that it probably had the reverse effect from the intent. The only people who are dumb enough to agree with the message as it was portrayed are also too dumb to draw the parallel between guns and skeleton remotes.
