The people who harass other anons for enjoying shows they don't like should be hanged by the gallows. I consider it a favor because if they can only extract enjoyment by beating down others, the world is objectively better off without them.

The only thing worse than using tweets as an argument is using tweets without context as an argument

I despise disney as a company because of their ruthless business practices and lifeless creations in the modern age. They ran out of creativity and ideas long ago and are just rehashing the same old shit to make a quick buck and people will eat it up because it's disney.

I hope people wake up and realize that disney is going to beat the same dead horse for the next 50 years. Innovation is dead.

Also the donut steel, creation threads, and vocaroo threads are the best part about Yea Forums

Steven Universe should of been a Monster of the Week styled show and dumped all the shitty melodrama. Frybo was a good example of what the episodes could of been and they could of even still done story stuff but for a fucking 10 minute per episode show, they bloated it up with so many shitty ideas that I barely even watched any of it before I dropped it.

I got upto Prison break after skipping so many fucking filler episodes, try watching some more and then dropped it again from how fucking dull and boring it got. I stupidly did the same thing again with the Cluster, turned out it was shit and the concepted idea for that was fucking miles better.

Its a fucking shit show.

I'm fairly certain nudity (more specifically showing naughty bits) in children's cartoons isn't allowed
But why then, are nude male asses allowed to be shown or how is it supposed to be funny?
I can't count how many times I've seen a male character lose his clothes in front of people then everyone points at his dick and laughs?

>Remove everything that makes SU unique
>unga bunga me like action

No thanks.

Literally the whole show is character development with no substance. So much fucking filler, so many threats made to be a huge deal and turn out to be fucking dealt with within 5 minutes.

The show is overbloated with clieched character writing and abhorently token characters and such a bland race of characters. Its literally interglactic rock golems. They experemented more with their powers in the eariler episodes and then just decided to make them boring and only use their powers when they needed things to be flashy. Otherwise, "Oh no, we need a ladder to climb up this tall wall, guess we'll just fucking forget we can transform or fucking jump up 15 ft."

Spiderverse is for black retards

Samurai Jack finally was good and hit just the right notes, people complaining about it qould not be sattisfied with any ending.

Attached: 73b.jpg (1280x869, 164K)

People who demand lore and serial storytelling in cartoons are the lowest sort of manchildren. They just want to be able to watch their kid's shows while lying to themselves about how mature and sophisticated it is. Plus, such "people" rarely have any interests outside of animation.

Attached: ej48Uvw_d.jpg (400x300, 13K)

This is based and redpilled.

>finally was good
>finally
What? It wasn't before?
Also the ending was horseshit, we deserved better.

Ending Sofia the First was a mistake on Disney's part that I'm still not over.

Hush was stupid. Hush was the dumbest fucking thing I've seen so far this year. It wasn't even that bad of a movie but that backwards shit idiot tiwst they pulled at the end made me never want to spend money on DC for the rest of my fucking life.

Scarecrow was hot in it.

Missing Link wasn't as bad as everyone said it was. It's certainly their weakest work, but it wasn't as painful to watch as Boxtrolls was. It's just lacking the luster that Kubo or Coraline had.

I never watched the last season of Samurai Jack. I don't even remember if I saw all of the original series.

I like Damian. He's my second favorite Robin.

I couldn't stand to watch Into the Spiderverse because of the choppy animation style the used for the characters. That shit gave me a headache.

I fucking hate capeshit after normies like it.

I can't even enjoy Aquaman with how childish and cringe the writing is.

I'm so fucking sick of every showrunner taking a gigantic portion of their influence from the last show they worked on. It just ends up creating cookie cutters and homogenizes the shit out of the industry even though these people are given the freedom to try something different.

Ducktales, Amphibia, and Owl House are clearly modeled after Gravity Falls with a large chunk of people who worked on GF working on that.

AJ's Infinite Summer, Bottom's Butte, Long Live the Royals, Paranormal Roommates are clearly influenced by Regular Show and guess what those people worked on.

Final Space and the new Star Trek show? Gee, looks like Rick and Morty. Want to fucking know why? Guess the people's resumes who are working on those shows now.

Stop just regurgitating the exact same thing you did before. Give me someone like the artist who made Tyler and Co. a show. Give me more Gennedy's of the world. I want more Ballmasterz. Animation deserves people like Danny Antonucci, not goddamn Pen Ward or Alex Hirsch.

Anything realted to spider MEN is shit
Pete should be the only Spider

People shit on nu-Spider-Man just because it's mouseshit. Holland is the best Parker and best Spider-Man, while Keaton and Gyllenhaal have been the best villains in any Spider-Man movie, with Molina's Ock being a *very* close third.
That being said, the Stark wank in the MCU (and the Spider-Man movies specifically) is an extremely valid complaint against the films.

Like anime and video games are any better in that regard.

This so much. I just want a decent story told within a single episode, not some soap opera bait bullshit.

Attached: 1299015636189.gif (454x358, 369K)

Ed Edd n Eddy was annoying and unfunny. The jokes are exactly the kind of bullshit loud random humor that makes my skin crawl.

it is really annoying

>Stop just regurgitating the exact same thing you did before. Give me someone like the artist who made Tyler and Co. a show. Give me more Gennedy's of the world. I want more Ballmasterz. Animation deserves people like Danny Antonucci, not goddamn Pen Ward or Alex Hirsch.

i love this post so much

Not that user but to add, anyone who has to use the word "lore" when describing why their show is good doesn't actually give a shit about their show. They just want to know the answer to a mystery because human curiosity is extremely strong.

Fairly Oddparents has gigantic world building. So does Spongebob for that matter. Xiaolin Showdown had a world and lore. Same with Jackie Chan Adventures. Nobody ever talked about how Avatar was fantastic because "of its deep loooreee", they would just say how well-written and interesting the world is. Deep lore is just code for people to feel special because they spotted an easter egg upon rewatching a shitty show.

There was literally a scene in Giant Woman where Pearl manipulates sand with her mind just to demonstrate something she would have projected a hologram of in any other episode. Her ability to create a sword-fighting holographic copy of herself is also forgotten about after one episode.

The show had so many ideas that would have made it a great action series, but decided to squander all of it.

Attached: 1463190771606.jpg (1195x1920, 355K)

this
never understand why people value lore so much when some shows dont even need lore like AT

More people need to take the Peter Chung path of going from Rugrats to making Aeon Flux.

THE POWERPUFF GIRLS THEMSELVES ARE ABSOLUTE TRASH

Not only are they drawn lazily compared to literally any other character on the show, they are abrasive cunts. The show would be immensely better if it focused on the professor creating hero-of-the-week to fight monster-of-the-week like some knockoff Lilo & Stitch

Fuck them

Attached: FCE25ABF-D5B9-4496-9F1C-8AEAC1593457.png (633x480, 697K)

The show does so much goddamn cliche anime acting that takes me out of it. Characters tilting their head down and the shadows overtaking their eyes. A character looking down, laughing, putting their hand on their forehead, and then looking up while laughing maniacally. Side profile shots when a character starts shouting and all we see is their lower half of their jaw.

It doesn't feel like an artist thinking about the acting of a character by immersing themselves in their emotions, it feels like an artist just copying and pasting expressions from a "learn how to draw anime" book.

Agreed.

the new looney tunes shorts they are doing, while impressive looking, are incredibly pointless.
Why should i care about a show i spent my childhood watching already?

I like Bioshock 2, mainly because I like the design of the Alpha Series Big Daddies.

The anime portions of Teen Titans brings the show down heavily.

Attached: 1563254563615s.jpg (270x187, 12K)

I really wish capeshit wasn't the main genre in comics in the US. It's the byproduct of that old cunt Frederic Wertham's attack on the genre and we're still feeling the aftereffects of his scumsucking actions.

I love Image and Aftershock in concept, but they are dumping grounds for decompressed, re-purposed, failed TV pilots and movie pitches.

Dexter and the Powerpuff Girls where my least favourite of the original 9 Cartoon Cartoons

The anime portions are the only thing that make it unique over the DCAU

Unique doesn't mean it's good.

This is exactly why I hate nuStar Trek. "Picard" looks like some typical JJ Abrams action shit. I want to see Picard in his ready room debating the death penalty or eugenics with some alien ideologue.

I didn't say it was

This, and many cartoonists are ashamed that they're making children's entertainment

Parker stressing about how poor he is, how he can't afford to support his aunt's mortage/medical bills, his strained relationship with Harry and other friends or why he can't choose MJ and other love interests is pretty much a defining characteristic of him. That's why comic readers consider him the everyman they can relate to because his personal problems are affected by his super hero antics. And there's no benefit for him to continue being Spider-man, just downsides.

Weisman's relationship drama is honestly no different from Ditko/Lee's early runs. Parker there was so fed up of being ignored, bullied, and humiliated that he sounded like a high school mass shooter just waiting to happen.

The Russo brothers are drab, stilted directors who can't compose a decent shot tho save their lives.

I agree, although Id say that Dexters bad would infinitely be improved if it had cannibalized PPG and it would be him creating random shit to fight the villains mic with some occasional help from his monkey and the not-avengers

Basically Batman, but without the autism and plot armor

Weisman can't do believable stress, that's why he keeps going back to CW teen drama melodramatics.

>I want to see Picard in his ready room debating the death penalty or eugenics with some alien ideologue.

Most normos find that boring

I'd prefer a Justice Friends show (With Dexter, Monkey, Honeydew and the Sugarpuffs being only in five eps at the most)

But CW teen drama melodramatics is what the people who wanted Young Justice to return want (and LGBT angst)

I hate the term calarts. It might have had a meaning at one point but it evolved to just another word people used to describe any cartoon they don't like regardless of art style. Hopefully we will ditch the word as time goes on as new cartoons come in

This

Big Picture Show (and the final season) felt like shilling to the older fandom (including the pedo fujos)

Attached: big picture show.jpg (814x542, 92K)

Superhero comics are just soap operas with people with superpowers and suits as the protagonists. Go read Spider-Man. Go read X-Men. Go read Batman. Go read Teen Titans. Go read Daredevil.
it wasn't until recently that superhero stories tried to become blockbusters, especially if those are written by Bendis.

Found the Calarts graduate

Grant Morrison is a brainlet jerkoff who thinks making self-referential silver age homages makes him some kind of literary wunderkind.

While I like the idea of western cartoons focusing more on story than mindless comedy I think most cartoons are going about it in entirely the wrong way. The lore approach never ends up actually going anywhere and always ends up disappointing in the end.
While I thought the action and art style were great I do have to agree that the SD shit went a bit too far into middle school webcomic territory.

Warren Ellis writes like a 14 year-old socialist fedora fag who can only create jaded self-inserts to show everyone how cool and cynical he thinks he is.

Oh boy, this thread is a gold mine.

Garth Ennis is a fat soiboy LARPing as a taboo-breaking enfant terrible. If he every wrote anything truly dangerouus, the Jews wouldn't be giving him multiple TV adaptations.

Garth Ennis is a hack who can't tell a consistent story to save his life but tries to hide it behind vulgarity and gore.
He seems like the kind of guy who would use the term based and redpilled unironically.

Beware the Batman had everything that Yea Forums could've wanted (no Joker-wank, Detective-centered Battman, more obscure characters, darker Batman without being grimdark, no romance melodrama, etc.) and it's frustrating that Cartoon Network smothered it before it even premiered just to shill Legends of Chima, which also bombed anyway.

>can't tell a consistent story to save his life but tries to hide it behind vulgarity and gore.

Yet the same thing gives Adult Swim originals their unique charm

Adult Swim has been charmless since 2007.

Atleast Shokew isn't in the thread.

>Minorities will always be less successful than majorities
What a fucking shock.

Even Tom King's allegedly "good" books are dripping with the sort of self-consciousness you would find from a college freshman in a creative writing class who wants to prove to everyone that he's the next Raymond Carver or some shit.

>posts Regular Show

Superior Spiderman
dare I say it
superior

That would be nice, but for all we know pitching
>I will make a program similar to a previous, financially successful program I have already been involved in
is the only way people are getting their shows greenlit.

I miss Ruby Gloom a lot

If you let a fandom ruin a show for you, you are a weak nigga.

Watchmen is boring as fuck. I understand it and could tell you all the reasons it deserves it's praise but it's just so boring

Jim Shooter was the greatest Editor ever to have graced the Halls of Marvel. Every time I hear his name A James T. Kirk shoots a female enemy through reluctance because he was so thoroughly commanded.
Jim Shooter was the first Editor to pivot an entire story telling style of crossovers and woven origin continuity filling out an entire Universe beyond just a gimmicky couple of issues. In My Mind Jim Shooter some up in a hospital somewhere and either invented the original Secret Wars where Spidey gets his Black Suit or was Secret Wars as a blueprint and stylized all of the marvel characters stories so they could seem more REAL.
In my mind Jim Shooter either invented it or popularized it in an undeniably evolved new form.I
Current MCU owes so much to Him Shooter who invented Continuity-As-A-Creative -Mandate. Besides God in Real Life, I mean .
Jim Shooter should be running Disney right now.

I will starting hating something after it becomes popular.
If I really like it I keep watching it but it needs to be something that really makes me care.
A small fandom is always better and I know general audiences won't like the same thing as me from the right way

Rebirth was cancer

>I will starting hating something after it becomes popular.
Why?

It's not fun if everyone likes it.
They will never like it as much as me

>It's not fun if everyone likes it.
Why?

>They will never like it as much as me
They like it more than you if you hate it because of them.

SU was never meant to be an action series. The sooner you get over that the sooner you can move on and find shows that actually cater to you instead of complaining about ones that won't compromise on what they are

>These things are anime cliches
There's only so ways to demonstrate emotion user. If they stood there grimacing in pain you'd probably think that was a Dragonball reference, because lord knows Yea Forums has a stick up their ass about anything even approaching anime..

*so many

I like SSM except for the shipping. I've never been a fan of it. Designs were good. Character interpretations were interesting. Then I watched Young Justice and came to the conclusion that Yea Forums just likes Weisman for the relationship drama.

>SU was never meant to be an action series.
That I know. The thing is that a bad show is rarely disappointing due to simply being bad. Steven Universe was influenced by a bunch of different things, the concepts together in a unique way could have made for a very interesting series, but SU falls flat in basically every way. The wasted opportunity is more disappointing than if it were less unique.

weeb

I think it succeeds in what it sets out to do (which is a coming of age story with a sci-fi backdrop). The references to other stuff are just basic references and I never expect things to be superior to the source material. You do you though, at least your argument is more nuanced than most.

This. Unless you've got someone IRL pestering you about a show, you're a faggot for caring about what Internet people are doing.

>why is animation not taken seriously?
>then shit like this is posted
Or maybe when I see the word "lore" I think of something else.

>The references to other stuff are just basic references and I never expect things to be superior to the source material.
I don't know about that. I like the way it handles Fusion better than the way Dragon Ball Z did it, both the Gem fusions are more visually interesting than the ones in DBZ and it actually has a relevance to the plot, but since it's not an action series you rarely ever see it for fighting, just as a relationship metaphor. They crammed-in a bunch of fusions they never got around to showing in the finale because it was an afterthought.

Attached: 1441088294345.png (1280x535, 935K)

I hate it because it's utter garbage. Cutesy whiny twink with the most annoying personality possible is the shittiest Spider-Man one can imagine. It's the same reason 2017 cartoon is trash.
>inb4 hurr durr Raimifag
Tobey was no better, we've yet to see a good Spider-Man and good Peter Parker in a movie.

>because it was an afterthought.
I don't think it was. I am sure they wanted to show all od the fusion of the CG team for a long time, but it was the only way they managed to do it without impacting the pacing of season 5's final.

Oh I'm talking about the stuff Yea Forums complains about like Lars' outfit being a reference. I agree its interpretation of fusion is one of the best in media as a whole.

They were clearly not given a reneweal until late into S5. At the very least they wrote them into the plot and gave Steven a reason to fuse with them instead of just because.

Slapping a bunch of fusions into the finale is what felt like an afterthought. I mean that there's not really many reasons to fuse because fights aren't really important to the show. They could have had an episode with Steven fusing with Garnet and Pearl the way they did with Amethyst, but that never happened. Early episodes had the gems going out and fighting corrupted gems, but once they weren't as reluctant to have Steven actually join them that basically disappeared from the show along with gem corruption, except for the one episode with Jasper and the one with the Centipede.

IIRC Rebecca has said she prefers to leave the random fighting to stuff like Save the Light (which is worth picking up btw, fun game) and keep the character stuff to the show.

>I'll take a bunch of things from different action series and combine them to make anything other than an action series.
>Why do so many people hate on the show?
