I thought this would be something stupid, and MLP happyhappy, but I was wrong. The animation is good, the episode format works, and it's not afraid to get dark. There was probably half a dozen moments there that could give some kid nightmares. (Anne, you have to go collect some eggs.) It sometimes seems to be ripping Simpsons jokes, (park the car in the space), but even that is used in a way to cement the Plantars as a believable family.

Nature is out to fucking kill you in Amphibia. They don't sugarcoat that. They got giant insect monsters, disease, mercenaries... all kind of horrible shit. To remove the possibility of death would be disingenuous. At the same time, however, I feel you should also maintain the somewhat more lighthearted tone featured in the show.
Also, don't put Anne in the game. Let your players be their own versions of Anne if they so desire. If by chance everyone wants to be a native, then you can maybe include an Anne. If it comes to that, don't approach writing her with romance in mind. If it comes about naturally, then go for it, but don't go out of your way to set it up.

But I don't think worldbuilding is considered a major priority by the crew.
The world very clearly bends with the plot. If they want something modern-ish to happen, they'll just have it happen.
I don't think this show will ever really dive into DEEP LORE, they'll just have some higher stakes conflicts enter the frey once in a while for season finales.

The act itself wasn't the issue. As people have pointed out, it was a conscious decision to give Anne a better chance at surviving since they'd both definitely die if she'd held on.
The issue was her saying "maybe you're better off without me", which frames it in a different light. If she'd said something like "you'll be alright without me" to Anne's "everything's going to be alright", it completely changes the tone. I'm going to chalk that one up to poor dialogue choice, but otherwise the intent behind the act is fine.

That I can't argue with. I can't personally think of how they could have done it differently with how the episode was structured, though, except "setting back" events in the previous episode. Yeah, that was the point. Sasha was a bully, even if she didn't quite realize it -she had to be the Queen Bee and was always telling Anne what to do because, let's face it, Anne was a spineless idiot. But at the end there Sasha realized that outside of her presence, Anne matured into a good and selfless person with actual friends. Hence, "maybe you're better off without me." Sasha was a shit, but she did actually care about Anne in her own way.

Anyways, the show was ok. The humor wasn´t really my style. I like dark humor, but this show treats death jokes like it´s nothing and the lack of reaction to them made me not laugh very much at this comedy.
But I have to admit, the show grows on you as you watch it. I was really meh with it at the beginning, but by the end, I enjoyed watching it, even if I barely laughed.
The season finale was good but I really wish they had given Sasha one more episode between Jailbreak and Reunion because some stuff felt rushed. But whatever, I liked what she did in the end. You barely see that kind of stuff in kids show nowadays.
Really hoping season 2 is like Tangled, where they move from the status quo town to adventures in the unknown. That worked great for that show.
