Same reason a bunch on animate things have been failing
DEEPEST LORE
Fuck off RT I just want to watch cute girls fight with good choreography

It's soul died when Monty did.
>RT is actually so corporate that they think slide shows count as fight choreography.

This

retards like you hated the show from the start fuck off

Attached: 1544742742196.gif (480x238, 415K)

Yangs outfits keep getting worse. When does the next season start, august?

Was that in the new season? Haven't seen it yet

Heard one of the new writers had written girls with horse stories before. RWBY and Pony Pals when

yes it didnt have hints of the main bad guy in episode 1 or something

Attached: 1478195835962.jpg (842x842, 91K)

November 2nd

Its an exaggeration from comparing Monty's fights with post-Monty fights.
Also, why the fuck are there so many weapons now that aren't half-gun? If it's not part gun, it's not RWBY

Monty died, and one of the main aspect of the show the fights died with him. And lord only knows how his story has been butchered.

Have a bigger overarching bad guy sure,I don't need to get in to creation myths and all that trash

How is it his story when Miles and Kerry have been the same writers the show has had since it started?

They used 3D custom girl for starters

Fuck off to your containment thread you goddamn RWBYcunts.

It's literally as if your high school's anime club made an anime

RWBY is not an anime

>soul
>SOUL
>MUH SOOOOUL

Meaningless buzzword.

i still dont get why guys like you want to hate rwby this bad

They killed pyrrha!
Also, the first seasons have animation problems
(Like the shadow figures which are people)
Also, they flubbed rwby chibi adding pyrrhas spoiler on one of the first episodes even tho it didnt have that before

I'm guessing you missed the lettergate issue or how Miles and Kerry did not let Monty's wife be part of the RWBY crew.

why? it's literally every every stupid shonen anime trope shoved into one. The only non-anime aspect is being 3d but that's not even true

Is she a writer or animator? If not, then why would she be on the production crew?

I never liked Pyrrah. She had no personality outside of Jaune.

She knew what Monty's plan for the show was but the minute his body was cold they iced her out because Miles had some very big disagreements with show direction. What we know as RWBY past season 2 is not what Monty wanted

Monty's wife.

Literally the only being close to Monty who would know about her husband's plans for RWBY for story and characters. A character was also based off her, Winter.

She could not give input to RWBY in any shape or form. Not in animation, writing, or anything like it. Miles and Kerry denied her access to the series.

With lesbians.

Lettergate is a joke. It was written by Shane when he was having a meltdown. And the writing process was always Monty, Miles, and Kerry all putting their ideas into the show. The Fall of Beacon was supposed to be v2, but the story took longer than expected to play out so it became v3.

I fucking love Miwa Shirow.

>Lettergate was a joke
Hello Miles

Again. How is someone with no training in any relevant fields qualified to give input on animation and writing?

She knew his vision you cretin.

So a person who is married to the creator that may have spoken with them out the series' future, cannot take over her husband's work because copyright reasons and Miles & Kerry being greedy fucktards to do their own thing with it?!

>How is someone with no training in any relevant fields qualified to give input on animation and writing?
They let Miles write so...

You think she literally memorized volumes worth of content flawlessly? What a joke. At most she could jot down a few things she remembered onto a napkin but that would be all she could really provide.

Rt have ways been greedy fucktards user. It was just that Shane's expose truly showed us what corporate Vampires Miles and his ilk are. Hell they completely fucked over Adam's fight order and arc beyond belief. That was ALL Miles and Kerry.

Is she a writer or animator? What can she provide besides ideas she "claims" came from Monty?

Blake and Yang were always intended to beat Adam together. Volume 2's commentary had Monty say "how sweet, we have to do this again...in a more extreme fashion." when he was commenting about Burning the Candle.

>is she a writer
Miles gets to write for this show user. Are we going to pretend that he is good at his job?

You don't think she or Monty would have written an outline on a journal or something about the progression and plans of the series? The disagreement would not happen between her and Miles & Kerry if that means something in Monty's plan is different from MK's own.

>>Blake and Yang
Certainly. But they just forgot about Adam for two seasons, had him completely forget his villainous purpose, and go for full Psycho Ex Bf instead of villainous guerilla leader.
Adam was the worst villain in the show because whatever character he might have had was sacrificed for Yang/Blake to get a lezzy arc.
He had no ideology by the time he died.
The entire White Fang arc was a disaster and even fans of Blake and Yang will point out as much.

Then where is this journal? Why wouldn't she post it anywhere? Give a copy of it to the production team?

are you retarded?

I say this as a fan. I like it, I still watch it and will keep watching. But the plotting is so fucking slow to the point where they have a setup season for the next season that actually has some progression.

Maybe because of being denied access to RoosterTeeth/RWBY productions, she can not give it to them. Maybe she wishes to respect her husband and not let greedy assholes like RT to ruin and destroy it.

Blake and Yang aren't even a couple. Could it happen? Yes, but there's nothing concrete yet.

That doesn't make any sense. She could easily publish any such journal herself and have Monty's final ideas be known. Her not doing so makes me think the ideas were never written down, so it boils down to her own memory.

>Fuck lore, give me more TTG!

Attached: 1542909927127.jpg (624x448, 54K)

>could it happen
user open your fucking eyes. They all but fucked each other. There is literally nobody else that either would be involved with. Blake had sun, but he fucked off back to Vacuo and is probably dicking Ilia straight. It's over desu and Bumblebee will be insufferable

It could also turn out to be like Lettergate. Nobody would be sure if they could believe these ideas were written and planned by Monty himself, until it is too late that Miles & Kerry's incompetence are shown.

Sun's showing up in the next RWBY novel alongside his team and Team CFVY.

This was Monty's passion project. RWBY's cliches and faults prove this. Who cares that he's not that good a writer? He had unique and exciting ideas that he wanted to share and goddamnit the fights are amazing. You can see the creator's love in the first few seasons and that is what gives this show its soul.

My suggestion if there is a journal is to publish photos of it into the book with her only providing additional narration to elaborate on things. That way the handwriting would be proof of who originally wrote it. But as I said, this only works if such a journal even exists.

Just because you are close to someone and you got a few ideas from talking to them doesn't mean you have the right to lead the show or you truly know what they wanted to do unless of course the person specifies you in their will/left with you actual written documents for their plans.

Get out of your "I was married to them thus I know what they wanted" idea.

My issue is more that volumes 4 and 5 sucked due to the team being separated. Their team dynamic was what made it fun to watch in the first place. So I don't think the issue is one of soul.

I actually have hope that v7 could turn out to be one of the better volumes.

Shadow figures were cool and stylish. RWBY's visuals have gotten more cluttered and more muddy over time even though the bright colors and style were the series main appeal.

Basic concept?

Shows then you lack sympathy, love, and compassion about someone close to you and seeing their work ruined by greedy corporate.

How can a grieving widow work on a show? Does she even know how?

Talk with the producers, animation directors, and writers about these plans is one of them. She probably had given her input about how her husband wanted to go through, but because of creative differences, Miles & Kerry decided that their own takes should be better. She could overlook and review the story/script of the series and give her input.

Sadly though, RT did not go to her for anything after Monty died.

Here's the thing. Corporate would still control the show even if she stepped up. They could overrule her at any given turn on any part of the show.

Basically what Miles & Kerry do for seasons 3 and onwards, right? Make their own fuckin' thing thinking it will work. Even when they see negative reception, they keep doing the same old stupid shit.

Monty got a cat.

>bad guy challenges the gods
>"i don't need creation myths"
How.

Attached: 1545360576314.png (271x500, 100K)

Please stop assuming she's some all-knowing oracle. She might've just sat there with him droning on and pretend to listen to him like most wives do.

57thpbp

Then what about Lettergate that said she was involved and had knowledge of what Monty wanted? That Miles and Kerry denied her access in RT? It didn't seem like she sit and listen. Monty must have loved her and she loved him to observe how his dreams and ideas were being brought to life.

This all came from Shane who was a fanboy of Monty and whose wife divorced him since he went off the rails after Monty died. She became obsessed with spending all his time "comforting" Monty's widow.

Why are folks acting like Sheena is some holier than thou individual after gofund incident? Like she ever cared about Monty’s legacy....

Monty gave Miles and Kerry "anime homework" and the show's fate was sealed from that point on. It was clear that nobody understood basic things like the difference between genre and medium.

Fuck man, I like story as much as the next guy, but don't try to defend such trash writing as Cinder not having a real backstory for 6 years or the racism plot. That shit is pretty bad.

>Shane comes off as a disguntled employee who's mad that he was fired. He even admits that the way Monty did things was incredibly disorganized. His workflow was not meant for a team, and Shane gets butthurt over the fact that RT changed Monty's 'precious process' and made it more efficient and also tried to get him to stop working past or up to the deadline so that they could have a truly finished product. He ignores the general consensus that RWBY's quality actually improved in Volume 3, instead choosing to whine about how it wasn't 'Monty's way' and how 'He knew what Monty wanted'.

>He says multiple times throughout the letter that Nicole 'got nothing', ignoring the fact that RoosterTeeth helped raised 250,000 dollars for her and reportedly also gave her a year of Monty's pay, and he claims that they 'closed the door' on her unfairly. He also whined about how they wouldn't give her a job or ask her about what was going to happen next in RWBY, despite the fact that she had never worked for them at all, and Miles and Kerry both knew volumes in the advance about what was going to happen.

>Nicole retweeted this, signifying that she apparently agrees with this. Hey, anything to get more of that sweet cash flowing, right? Her husband's company wouldn't give her a job, made her audition for a part in RWBY, and wouldn't ask her about something that she wasn't involved in--What an absolute tragedy.

>And that's where we're at right now. Nicole apparently supports Shane's long, whiny letter and is currently living in LA, where she continues to use Monty Oum's name to get that sweet cash flow, gets into the asses of other cosplayers, shit talks her 'friends', and spews fake-positivity on Twitter.

kiwifarms.net/threads/nicole-sheena-duquette-oum.20671/

Not exactly. If RWBY was written more like an anime, then maybe Cinder wouldn't be such a trash villain and would resemble some of the best anime villains. Right now, she's supposed to be a villain we hate but uh, well most people just don't care. There are some diehard Cinder fans that love her. Very few that love to hate her though.

She literally murdered him.

>They allegedly married in 2014, and in February of 2015, Monty passed away after falling into a coma after a "routine medical procedure" that later turned out to be an allergy shot... that Monty was getting because he was severely allergic to cats and Sheena had brought a stray into the house knowing this.

I'm just confused. Who's angry rant should I take as correct? I'm being serious by the way.

I heard Monty had tried to show Miles, Kerry, and other members who worked on it different anime series to give the idea about how fights were like and stories. But they were not fond of it like Monty or any otaku would.

So how do you explain the animation of Adam vs Blake/Yang that was used in Vol 6 when it was suppose to be used in Vol 3?

I don't believe one second they used that animation for the sake of Vol 6 or believe they would pull something good like that after so many shitty fighting choreography.

>When Monty was in the hospital, it suddenly came out that the two were married. A gofundme (link provided in the appropriate section) was started, raising 250k for Monty and his family/wife. Monty died on February first.

>Sheena never updated the gofundme and kept it open for months afterwards. To this day it still only says that Monty is in the hospital. Soon after, she ran off to England for a vacation with JNig, flaunting her purchases the whole way. Afterwards, when she returned to Austin, it's suspected that she got breast-implants, as she went from wash-board flat to suddenly D cups. She continued to buy lavish things and eventually moved to LA, all while doing other questionable things (described in the appropriate section below).

>Now, she does streams, sells things with Monty's name on it, sells trinkets featuring art of the Murder Cat, and has opened a patreon.

It was scrapped in v3 since Yang was nerfed into losing the fight in v3 so badly. It was an old animation piece they had sitting around so they decided to use it.

This explains RWBY's poor handling of concepts even basic shounen get right. Like One Piece does racism better than RWBY at this point. What the hell.
The Eye powers are shit too. It's the most boring, uninspired power ever. I remember when people theorized it was a super mode, but nope, just a boring light blast to kill fodder.

But they could have made the fight still be there and Yang lose in the end without that one-slice OP shit that they made Adam pulled. It ruins the power level system, make him the abuser to Blake despite no other proof was shown him doing it, and making up a bad plot about Yang trying to get over her short PTSD.

Like I would not mind if Miles and Kerry admit they hate anime or not fond of it like most who love this series like the fans and Monty do. But they could at least try to understand why people love it, how these concepts and ideas were handled in the series and maybe try to do something similar with RWBY's plot and setting.

Those things would've likely still all happened, it just would've taken Adam more effort to slash off Yang's arm.

That choreography was between Yang and Adam. There was no Blake. They removed it mostly because it would change the narrative of story. Yang and Adam were shown to be fighting on equal footing. Please stop acting like Shane was the only one working on the action scenes in volume three.

They included the Gurren Lagann reference at the end of v6 with the drill.

Probably for the sake of anime references, not really understand the context or meaning behind why drills were important in Gurren Lagann in the first place.

Wow..... she sounds like a horrible human being.

That said Monty's skill tended to revolve around fight choreography rather than plot so I'm not entirely sure I'd agree that 'Monty's plan' would have been better than what we got. It's not like what we've gotten has been bad per say, it's more a matter of Monty thinking up ideas that he likes and leaving it to Miles/Kerry to figure out how to fit them into the story.

wow this thread

Attached: 1474335080969.jpg (389x389, 39K)

>It ruins the power level system
why do retards think adam was some crazy powerful guy the strongest thing he did was use a robots power against it

Attached: 1551248133412.png (652x376, 353K)

Maybe Monty just happened to be around horrible people in his life. His wife, Shane, and Miles/Kerry.

If Vol 7 advances the plot sure.

I mean based off the last scene of Vol 6 the plot should advance a bit. And honestly Vol 5. Advanced the plot a lot, Vol 6 by comparison was a travelling volume (like vol 4) I just want Ruby to have character development.

>Titular character protag finally getting her character development

I really doubt it, even with new writers on hand.

I’m all for calling out Miles and Kerry but I don’t know what kind of mental gymnastics you have to do to come to that conclusion. Miles and Kerry hate anime??? What?? Do people forget that they were there for the beginning. The show needs more competent writers.
It’s been like that from the start. People forget that Monty mostly just tossed out ideas and Miles/Kerry did everything else.

Monty, quite famously, stated he hated how simple storytelling devices such as storyboards “slowed them down” but then also wasted a ton of time simply ordering entire scenes cut or rewritten because he couldn’t get them to work.

Yeah, they don't do history/folklore references nearly as well as many anime do either. Sometimes like with the Nuckelavee it's good, but other times I'm not impressed.
Sure, but even the ideas they do Miles&Kerry have are pretty bad. Miles is the one who was predominantly responsible for the backstory. Anything lacking in that is all him.

Or that the reason we rarely get new uniforms for the team is that Monty didn't want Nude models (because porns bad) so all models come with their clothes basically plastered on which means you need a new character model everytime you make a new uniform for the char.

If Miles&Kerry used storyboards, how do you explain the atrocity that was V5's animation fuckups for the Battle of Haven which was the most important fight the Volume?

Crunch rush. It's why the latter parts of every volume feel lackluster animation wise. Hopefully volume 7 will do better since they'd begun trying to cut down on the crunch.

I've heard they recently switched to nude models, but I don't have a source on that so I'd take it with a grain of salt.

I honestly think a part of it is how they don't think about the big picture all the time. Lionheart is not treated as important. There was no place for him in the fight, so animators placed him on the stairs. This is an example of not putting importance on something the audience might be lead to believe would be really important. This happens with a lot of things honestly, such Adam or Cinder, but it's not apparent what actually matters in RWBY when you're watching it so it becomes hard to care after awhile. This is a clear writing issue.

Cinder may be the worst villain I've seen in a long time and western animation in general has a big problem with villains. Why do they keep her alive? She died like 2 times already

I'm not surprised, now that they are using Maya that's probably a necessity. Which is another point against Monty his vehemence against using anything other than the Vol 1/2/3 engine is why the first few volumes look so dated now..... I mean by Vol 3 they had things down pretty well but compare vol 1 to vol 4 and you can see the differences in using Maya for the first time and whatever the Vol 1 engine was.

On the other hand Torchwick is one of the best, and based on After the Fall he could still be alive (being eaten by a Grimm isn't that lethal as long as they don't chew.

I feel like most of the villains people like tend to not get a lot of screentime but are entertaining when they do. Neo and Mercury are also a living memes at this point. Cinder is just crap.

Could novels or manga adaptations be taken as canon though? It would be bullshit if it does reveal he is alive in books, but not implied in the actual show itself.

They're mostly canon, but some things the author wrote about feel like retcons.

And Team BRNZ were confirmed as dead or missing in the novel. Roy Stallion is the one that's most likely dead.

Roman's death was hands down the most autistic thing in the series. Absolute waste of a character.

You can’t honestly read that fucking manifesto and think it’s being written by someone of sane mind.

This. They suck at world building.

Much like the Manga (and I guess comic series now?) everything not stated in show can be considered canon until it is disproven in the show

This will inevitably cause a shit show down the line.

>have episodes that are just straight up exposition dumps
>your lore is still confusing and convoluted as fuck
It’s like the show is written by 10 different people all in separate rooms.

rwby never had good fights

He constantly shits on Maya when it's industry standard and for good reason. Monty's workflow was madness and it's not surprising it was scrapped once it was gone.

I'm not sure what motivation Raven would've had to attack Team JNPR at a cafe, but unless it was hinting something about Jaune, then it felt really random anyway.

And I think making Pyrrha's death Jaune's fault would've been the final nail in the coffin for his character.

I don't know enough about the Ruby vs Roman and Neo fight to know which would've been better, but it would've been neat to have had Yang and Blake put up more of a fight against Adam, since it gave some people the impression that he was much stronger than he actually was.

>lettergate
Did RT ever respond to that?

Not from a narrative perspective, but at least they were fluid.

I'm glad for most of the changes to v3.What Shane wrote about the "intended version" made it sound like Jaune-wank.

>I don't know enough about the Ruby vs Roman and Neo fight to know which would've been better, but it would've been neat to have had Yang and Blake put up more of a fight against Adam, since it gave some people the impression that he was much stronger than he actually was.
In general, one of the things I liked more about Monty was he believed in having the heroes kickass. That's something that after 4 Volumes without Monty, was lost. Everyone jobs now.

I think having the canon bit for Jaune (the Tyrian scene) was pretty good. Tyrian's a creepy little fuck and i hate him
I love him

I don't think so. But honestly a little bit of research will tell you that Shane was unstable that that Monty impulsively married a young cosplayer so she could get a green card.

Wasn't he Miles' self insert though? He is even voiced by Miles himself.

Yes, but Monty also supposedly wanted JNPR to be important characters. The problem is that they make the main cast feel bloated but Miles and Kerry seemingly have no plans to drop them and let Team RWBY go on by themselves.

Well the show it's mainly letting Miles and Kerry near a keyboard.
Another problem is letting other groups do better work with the actual characters from RWBY Chibi to lending their characters to games like Blazblue and now Smite where artists and animators who know what they are doing can actually do well with the source material.

I get the feeling that comparing comedic skits and extremely limited game combat scripts to the actual show is rather disingenuous

Smite is only character skins.

And the recent Knights Chronicle crossover apparently reuses quite a few lines from previous seasons of the show as "iconic quotes".

Volume 7 will have 2 new writers in addition to Miles and Kerry so we'll see if the writing quality changes any.

We've seen more of the main 4 interact with each other and by extent their personalities in that skit show than we did the entirety of the main show's run.
Also comparing the animation of the 2D fighting game to the actual show is a very apt comparison.

The only characters I really feel that became more developed in Chibi were Ren and Tai.

>comedic skits
>this is how their characters are there's no change from how they actually act in the show
Are you retarded
>There's no real difference between animating certain simple actions to be done on command and animating something that lasts more than a few frames
You are.

I'm a little concerned with one of the writers for Vol 7.

goodreads.com/author/show/14097849.Kiersi_Burkhart

Why? I heard some people were complaining she'd make all the characters gay but then someone read Honor Code and Castle Of lies and there are only 2 gay characters (an elf that comes from a group that doesn't change their sex till they turn 50 (everyone things this is weird including the elf but ehh culture) and a noble that fucks anything that moves)

Well, at least with RWBY she'll have to stick to an outline.

But her writing dialogue along the lines of "I'm the piss and shit in the poop garden" worries me.

It's more concerned of she will handle the characters and sexuality in terms of story and their personality will not be executed. Blake is already criticized as being bland. So another writer who can't do personalities with political sexuality is a red flag.

Scat fetish will happen in RWBY at one point. Calling it now.

It'll be Whitley because he's a little shitley

It'd be rather amusing if Ruby thinks he's an adorable younger male version of Weiss and treats him like a little kid while he pouts and plots to ruin her because he knows it'll make Weiss mad. At the end Ruby and Weiss will commiserate their love and White Rose will be cannon

why do people bring up rwby had bad animation like the people that like the show didn't already know that

Attached: 1516003483939.png (677x592, 303K)

The first chapter of the manga adaptation of v2 comes out tomorrow on Viz's site.

this has to be bait

Attached: fishingpole.png (500x501, 90K)

I can see Whitley calling Ruby a dolt as well. But I can see Whitley actually liking Ruby in so far that Ruby says and does things that both annoy and embarrass Weiss. Plus, Whitley's a teenager too, so I'm not ruling him him getting a crush on Ruby.

Not if Roman Torchwick is found out to be alive and Weiss falls in love with him after falling in love with his ghost.

Also Neo giving a speaking voice will be the biggest thing happening in Vol 7

Injustice is gay

That guy is kind of right. From what we saw in the show with Blake and Yang, they had a few conversations in initiation + Burning The Candle, then they dance. Then next we see Yang is distraught the love of her life doesn't believe she's not violent and then Blake leaves which is enough to make Yang depressed. Where the hell was this amazing connection we only saw three times? Jaune and Pyrrha in comparison had a bunch of scenes each volume for us to at least grasp where it came from. Not the same with Blake and Yang.

God I hope she does all the writing for Blake. Keep her writing the shitty characters and I'll be happy. Give Cinder to her too.

I'm not saying they interact much in the show (Ruby talked to Blake before initiation and never spoke to her again until mid-way through this volume) but using Chibi as an example of their characters is just wrong.

I've got her almost equal with Jaune, I'll fully admit Jaune got memed to that point thanks to being the audience insert character (hate the trope) Blake at least earned her place.

ding ding ding

no u

Attached: 1560657140615.jpg (323x327, 21K)

yes when i watch something i just want to tern my brain off bro

Jaune is fine in scenes with RNJR mostly. His Pyrrha scenes are also decent. Weiss stuff and Cinder are questionable. However, Cinder is shit and him being angry was the most interesting thing to ever happen for her. Ruby not mentioning her eye+arm being messed up was a missed opportunity, but again, Cinder is shit so whatever.
I just don't like Blake's plotline nor is her development all that interesting to me.

Fuck I wish I could turn my brain off when watching RWBY, but then they throw boring ass exposition at us like we're supposed to think about the show. The trouble starts when we do think about the show and what is being said.
>Giving people free powers is wrong
What? Why?
>Racism can be solved by helping the racists
Well ok, but haven't you guys been doing that already and no one likes you? Is Blake the first person to say this?
>No one hurt me more than you, Blake
Racism isn't that big a deal I guess.
>Salem wants Ruby alive
What? Why? Was Salem not the person killing all those Silver Eyed warriors? This looks like plot contrivance.
>Ozcar
Is it wrong for Oz to possess him? No one really seems to care about it and yet act like they do care about the kid.
The list goes on. Thinking about RWBY only hurts the show in the long run because the writing isn't all that good.

deepest lore shows were a mistake

you are having problems following rwby plot my god man how stupid can you be

so you hate most of everything then and the lore in rwby is not deep at all

you would have to do that to care about the generic ass lore and retarded plot, yes

Attached: kiavgfkajfaf.png (1920x1080, 866K)

Enjoy bland plotless bulshit then with no comtext...

Clearly you can't read. I'm just pointing out how stupid everyone is and how the writers want us to turn off our brains to excuse some of the dumber plot points, but we can't do that so we just think about it sucking.

the plot of rwby is just they want to beat the bad guys how hard is that to follow?

Attached: 35y45745574674.jpg (625x468, 69K)

you fucks cant be real

Attached: dd.jpg (2001x1125, 178K)

can't be real about what, not liking shit stories?

It's not. Doesn't make it good.

Should've ended when Monty died. It's just not the same and it's clearly so much worse, especially since they've been whoring out the girls to a shitton of shitty mobage and DC.

Fuck off with this "Monty knew what was best for RWBY" shit, this dude wanted Jaundice, the dance arc and wanted Raven to pick a fight with JNPR for no fucking reason, the dude loved the Game of Thrones whole "kill off whoever for the drama and edge" mentality

I'd rather have a somewhat altered story than no conclusion at all. And I wouldn't say all the changes are for the worse, since some of the things that were originally planned for v3 felt like Jaune-wank.

It was bad and never got better except for the animation
6 started off promising and shat the bed halfway through. RWBY can never win.

They were giving each other fucking bedroom eyes. Miles and Kerry sacrificed their characters to pander to shippers.

>m-monty's v-vision

Good thing I dont care about Blake or Yang

>Blake and Yang aren't even a couple

Later seasons focus on being an epic drama fell flat.
Earlier seasons cheerfulness and camp was ironically more evocative.

They really aren't. There has been no confession or anything. Maybe the dance Arryn teased for v7 might be their moment, but it hasn't happened yet.

Yep. In it, RWBY kicked ass on screen. I stand by what I said since The Battle of Haven happened after Monty died. If you want to say that was better than Breach, go ahead.

Beacon was always meant to be the prologue to the actual story. While Monty dying may have had some effect on the tone, I think it was always intended to become more dramatic once they left the safety of the school.

Fucking get rid of JNR already

But Monty wanted them to be important!

It hasn't been poorly written and despite having 6 years time, it's pretty rushed, but it's probably going to happen. It's all those two characters have going for them at the moment.
This is why I don't care about them either. Blake has been bad for awhile, but Yang hasn't recovered from V5.

Monty had bad ideas!

Yeah, but he also a Final Fantasy style story. This doesn't feel like FF, probably because M&K don't know anything about FF.

I like it better when it was just HS drama and Pyhrra cucking herself.

It varies greatly between games. Compare FF 7 to FF 8 to FF 10 to FF 15.

Which game were they taking inspiration from?

kicking ass isn't necessarily bad, just bad when its a season finale and the enemies get mowed down with little to no effort

Considering the schools I say FF8. It also had a dance. Also a villainous sorceress. The cold gunsword wielding character with a scar who develops thanks to a cheerful girl with a dog.
Basically, the FF8 inspiration is blatant knowing Monty.

Lol, one of the characters in that game looks like Cardin.

At least it happened on screen and showed us why the grimm aren't a threat to trained huntsmen and the army combined. V5 had the villains lose off screen and then they run away. Without V2's finale, V3's finale wouldn't hit as hard when the heroes are losing. V5's just sucks and kills the potential of multiple storylines, mostly Cinder&Adam's threat.

My problem is that they knew Yang and Blake would beat Adam together eventually. So he can't be taken down until they can fight him together which they weren't ready to do the end of v5. So maybe Adam shouldn't have been directly included in that attack, since he had to be saved for later anyway.

Not enough villains or at least a misuse of the ones they have. V5 would've been the excellent time to use another WF leader instead to be worfed. Liked the Albains. Not sure why they weren't used there actually since that would've been a better sendoff. I mean, one of them even blew them-self up. It writes itself!

>Balamb Garden and activates its mobile functions to evade the missiles. Garden cannot be controlled, however, and it crashes into the docks at Fishermans' Horizon
And then Atlas' top level came tumbling down to Earth.

They kept Torchwick around longer than originally intended. He was supposed to have bitten the dust much earlier so that the Albains would've had more importance in v3. That would've been great, since it would've made them seem less like mooks. Plus, it was hinted that Adam was only their unwitting puppet to be discarded when he no longer proved useful to their goals, but with how things played out we don't even know what their goals were.

Their Animation.

They should studied the art of Japanese cost cutting.
