His mom is in a domestic violence relationship so she got what she deserves.

Best scene in the movie DESU.

No, it's spelled DCEU.

I liked thwt the movie dealt with some more adult stuff but still remained light and fun.

Sivanna family thing could be missed by people watching. I mean no it cant, but if you are a kid it can fly over your head. But this one was just tough to watch.

>apparently this whole part wasn't in the director's initial plan
>he gets a call from a company suit who proposes Billy finding his mother and learning she fucking ditched his ass
>loves it enough to change gears and run with it
based. when he showed her the compass and she didn't remember it I felt the feel

>he gets a call from a company suit who proposes Billy finding his mother and learning she fucking ditched his ass
This was a good moment, but an odd thing for an executive to demand.

>WHITE FAMILY BAD
>MIXED MUTT FAIMLY GOOD
>GOOD GOY

FUCK THIS SHITTY SJW MOVIE.

Rent free.

>black wizard man gets his ass beat by a white man and gives his powers to a white kid
mkay

Dilate discord tranny

Huh. You usually expect executives to dumb it down or avoid stuff like that.

Black wizard is the good guy. And they fucking blacked washed the wizard from the comics. The white guy is evil because of course he is. The white kid has to share his powers with a bunch of fuckin nigger mutts in a shitty progranda showing socialism. This movie is SJW to the max and cringe and bluepilled. And yet most of Yea Forums thinks it's based and redpilled just because the lead is white. This is how far we have fallen as a soecity

Can someone translate this exchange of two anons into English?

Your issue is with the comics then, the movie simply adapted the source material.

It's smoking hot garbage, of course.

I'll assume you're being retarded on purpose because you being sincere is really just too sad to contemplate

I should repeat it's anecdotal, I got no proofs that it actually went down like that

Wirth how SJW DC and Marvel are. That's not saying nothing good about the state of things

Dilate

I think it helped the movie. Took a bit away from the super happy goofy parts and made the tone more balanced.

>"You waste your time posting low quality sentences for free, you fool."
>"You are a low bred person of the currently labeled political party I dislike, you transexual of a messenger application."

Simpler version
>"Faggot."
>"Go fuck yourself lib."

You need help, most likely medication and a court order to own no internet capable devices

What Sivanna thing?

Not sure im getting the name right, but the baddie was clearly having an entire life of abuse from his family. Him killing them was even catharthic.

>the triggered libcuck fears the TRUTH

Oh, alright.
You had me scared I missed some big character trait or something.
I thought that the abuse was fairly obvious.

>such a lighthearted movie
did you forget that Sivana scene in the boardroom that took place prior to this part? Or when his assistant touches the gateway to The Rock of Eternity and gets fucking vaporised? Or the entire opening scene with the car crash? The movie wasn't afraid to juggle dark themes and scenarios with a relatively lighthearted sense of humour and main character.

>I think you'll need this more than me

Attached: crying feels guy.png (633x758, 16K)

You genuinely have issues, friend.

Honestly, the movie is a great, fun time, and hearing how mad it makes paranoid crackpots like you just makes me like it more.

This is honestly what made this a really good comic book movie.

>Light hearted, yet dark moments.
>Serious moments are serious, fun moments are fun.
>You can take the film seriously or you can take it as another junk food.

CRINGE AND BLUEPILLED

The jokes didnt land at first but on the later half I was losing my shit.

>Lust, who wasnt as sexy as I expected

It also gives Sivana and Billy nicely parallel stories. They're both obsessed with an event from their childhood, that had dramatic impact on them and involved their family. Both achieve their obsessions. When Sivana achieves his goal his kills his father and brother to avenge himself for their mistreatment. When Billiy achieves his goal, he shows sympathy to the woman who abandoned him and in fact gives up his most prized possession to her. Billy had the same power as Sivana, but it obviously never occurred to him to take any kind of revenge.

The movie has some nice structural things like that. It's also a neat example of interesting things that show up by accident.

>that car crash with "do you hear what I hear" blaring as the car tumbles down
I fucking laughed my ass of when that happened though

Faggot.
Dilate.

I never got a chance to see Shazam in theaters. Was it any good? Like, Aquaman?

>a company suit added the most impactful scene in Shazam
>a company suit canceled Swamp Thing after one episode
WB is a fickle company

I wish more directors did this with their movies instead of CinemaSins.

>Was it any good?
Yes
>Like, Aquaman?
Different kind of good

>Tfw you didn't realize it was the director of the movie until the comment section

It's a pretty good movie.

Yes it's good. Not sure whether I like it or Aquaman more.

He's also breaking basic etiquette. It's a response to a very specific suggestion. If someone doesn't make it, you don't reply with it. Basic goddamned etiquette. That which separates us from the redditors.

Because you only hear when the execs fuck up, you never hear if they did something right.

Are you seriously trying to bootlick some suits?

You didn't like the entire sequence where Shazam 'rescues' the lady from the mugger and then the convenience store? That part had me cracking up basically the entire way.

You gotta go back

Trying 2 hard

But what does that mean?

Dude Freddy Freeman was a goddamn Nazi killer in the comics. Killed over a hundred and fitty NAzis.

For me personally the bit with the assistant touching the door way and screaming as she died was the most brutal death, but I only ever hear about some guy getting his head bitten off

Sometimes people get the art they are involved with

That was the idiot accountants working for North Carolina.

He's referring to a thing MtF transexuals have to do post-surgery.
mtfsurgery.net/dilation.htm

You do know that Freddy and Mary have been around since 1941 and 1942 respectively, right?
No, of course you don't. Piss off back to Yea Forums

You just don't mess with magic so casually.
(Seriously, it was fucked up, but I loved it how it was done)

It’s not really out of place and it made the movie feel genuine.

It got word filtered newfag

>he did nothing wrong
Stop projecting incel

>she was 17 when Billy was like 4-5

I'm pretty sure she meant she was 17 when he was born.

Darla was the best character of the film.

I can't wait for the sequel...

He's right though.

>was that apple any good? like, an orange?
They are even literally costumed in red and orange.

>counting Nu52 though
That's kinda like seriously counting Ultimate for Marvel.

>That's kinda like seriously counting Ultimate for Marvel.
Have you seen the MCU?

I think I'll only be a little mad if this post stays up until the thread dies while I have posts of mine deleted for saying things like, "Non-binary isn't a gender" and get a warning for it.

Turning the wizard into an ancient Australian lightning god is one of the few slightly entertaining reimaginings I've encountered in the Johnsverse. They should have done more with it and had him jumping out of puddles and calling Billy a cunt.

>hey kid you got any durrys?

>billy doesn't understand what's going on until the magical wisdom kicks in and translates

>Heyyy Billy ya cunt, gimme some gas for the dream time

>>Lighhearted movie

Yes, I have, and "it was like that in the Ultimate universe!" does NOT excuse that shitshow.
I mean, it "ehhh okay" when there was one Iron Man movie that we never had thought was gonna happen, but at this point, nope.

Excellent bait, have another (you).

it stands for dc expanded sinematic universe, newfag.

What tv show is this? Runaways?

>comics no longer exist and only reference from the past are available.
sure.

Wow, I guess no other adventure of Captain Marvel were ever done after. I am sure those a re those comics user was tlaking about.

Oh I see. You're hunting for a ban.

It's a shame there is no longer any new Shazam comics being down nowadays. I am sure it could have been in interesting direction and even provide material form which the movie could have inspired iself from.

That's exactly right, and what Thor 3 fucked up. It didn't take anything seriously, not even the moments that were supposed to be serious.

Once it was the highest honor to say: ‘I am an American.’ It still is, because of the great history that lies behind the phrase; but now any Jew, Polack or Wop, spawned in some teeming ghetto and ignorant of or cynical toward American ideals, can strut and swagger and blatantly assert his Americanship and accepted on the same status as a man whose people have been in the New World for three hundred years.” ~HP Lovecraft

>and what Thor 3 fucked up.
They didn't.
>t didn't take anything seriously, not even the moments that were supposed to be serious.
yes, they did. A quip doesn't delete the seriousness of a situation, user.

Not his best quote.

>source material
How new are you? Johns' shitty comic isn't "the comics" it's one terrible reboot. Why do you newfags do this?

yawn

lol fuck off faggot, user is showing why you're wrong.

HP Lovecraft is literally just seething because he spent his childhood in a dress.

I don't know what people were expecting, from the get go I was silently yelling that his mother never looked for him. I was glad so many people pointed that out to him. I don't know what he was expecting.

Keep having your melty, sweetie. I'm sure someone will be convinced.

Shit, really? That is hot.

>You disgust even my kind, you shifty kike!
I know people were saying it reminded them of the Raimi Spider-Man movies but I didn't think they meant it like that

>A quip doesn't delete the seriousness of a situation, user.
That's exactly what it does. And they went way, way beyond quips. The movie expected to get nothing but cheap laughs from the audience, and it consciously sabotaged any attempts it could have made for something more.

Just compare to the OP's scene. It could have been played for laughs, but they treated it seriously. Do you not see the difference?

I'm glad that how they played it. it wouldn't have made sense for her to have not just abandoned him considering it seemed that she never went looking.

Jesus Christ Sandberg

Friendly reminder that Thor 3 made more than almost every single DC movie

It was good, but was different that Aquaman.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I liked his evil laugh in the movie, it was the right kind of corny.

>I never got a chance to see Shazam in theater
That's fine no one else did either

>Melty
You're the only one who seems to believe that Geoff johns Shazam is "the comics" rather than literally ever other run and iteration of him.

Even those at the top have been at the bottom, user

lol no.

Get laid.

Perhaps some of them, but most have never known hardship in their lives, and probably never will.

Motherfucker married a jew

Oh cool, a Captain Marvel threa-- oh.

In what way was the movie "pozed"?

No, it's okay for a comic to do what is in the comic.

It was a joke user

You know what jokes are don't you?

This video was good. I wish we could get more of these from other directors.

Swamp thing had a bunch of weird problems. But I'm still gonna buy it when it hits blue ray

This is actually surprisingly accurate. To s of sources love to cover and talk about the failings but no on ever mentions the success stories, really makes me curious

Because their success stories are usually about money and stocks, not about the product

I want to fuck his mom. Both the biological mom and the foster mom.

Well having seen all the episodes so far they really did make the right choice

Fukkin yikes

Oh I'm not saying I had a problem with it, I'm saying it chilled me more than anything else in the movie. Good shit

It was a great part, that scene alone elevated the movie from a 7/10 to a 8/10 for me

ohnonononono

She was a highlight no doubt

>Not getting the joke

Hi, newfriend.

nice falseflag

His social worker even said so at the beginning of the movie. “Why are you trying so hard to find someone that isn’t looking for you?” Just the same, I was not prepared to actually see her shut him down like that. Like, in a movie filled with shitty parents, she still managed to stand out.

Billy’s foster parents may be corny as fuck, but they’re every bit as good to the core as the Kents were. I am so excited to see where this team takes Billy and his siblings next. Out of everything that WB/DC has coming up, Shazam 2 is right next to Doom Patrol’s second season.

That's what hurts so fucking much
He's blown off multiple (presumably) good families, chances at a good and stable life, chasing the mother that barely remembers him

Yeah. I know nothing about Shazam, so at first I thought they were gonna be another shit family, but right in the car you could tell they were good people. It was handled really well.

The mods on this site are blatantly /pol/ now. Hiro is a right winger so you shouldn't be surprised

The Wizards been black for awhile, he was shown to be part of the council that made that shitty version of the Question and The Phantom Stranger

Your death will be a celebration

Thor 3 is both good and bad. Is the most Jack Kirby movie of all, and is more entertaining that the other 2 Thors. But it disrespect everything the other movies where building and unceremoniously kill most of the cast with little fanfare. Also they make unappropriated jokes when they should just let the drama happens and Infinity Wars pretty much unmade any character progression Thor had as a character.

Also they didn't made justice to this scene.

Attached: he stood alone at gjallerbru.jpg (500x740, 99K)

Some of the smaller jokes still make me giggle

Attached: Maximum Voltage.jpg (1280x535, 190K)

this one made me burst with laughter too. That shit eating grin.

I don't think they could have made it work with anyone but Eugene Fitzherbert

Reminds me of a YouTube thing I saw the other day.

Darla couldn’t show be on set one day, which meant she would arrive at school later than her siblings. To explain this, she had trouble with her shoes, and had trouble keeping up with everyone. Then, when she gets her powers, she’s zipping around like the Flash.

This creates a neat little subplot for Darla, right? An interviewer mentioned how clever that was to the director and he was like “yes! Yes. Yessss...” as if to say “that’s very clever and of course I meant to do that, when in fact it’s a complete accident.”

Why are these kids as adults hot

The best scene was Sivanna giving his speech thinking Shazam could hear him.

Watch the blu-ray extras if you can
Pretty cool stuff
People think the carnival fight scene stuff was underwhelming in action but it was originally much smaller. It was just a parade, then turned into the carnival, then they decided to take the fight out into a broader area over Philly. And they only had 12 weeks to do it (in post and everything). So they upped it to the best of their abilities.
They also got a guy from the crew of Aquaman to help.

I swear I have seen that joke before somewhere but yeah, it was fantastic.
>Only I can unleash...
>DUDE WE ARE LIKE TWO KILOMETERS APPART I CANT HEAR YOU

The whole end boss fight was better than any in the DCEU (The fight with Ares was boring as hell, and the bit where Diana tosses the tank away is always funny), and one of the best of any cape movie. It was coherent, there were clear stakes, all of the character’s arcs all logically led there and were fulfilled all at the same time and the whole cast was really given a chance to shine with all the kids contributing equally.

I liked this movie, i hope the sequel is good. Though i wish they went with the original Mr. Mind design instead of the Big eyed one

The original design is a cartoon, it wouldn't look right at all. It'd look like the fucking Rocky and Bullwinkle movie.

I just wanted the glasses really

Kung Fu panda 2 had the exact same joke almost word for word

Attached: The.Magic.World.of.SHAZAM!-MkvCage.Com.mkv_snapshot_21.01.302.jpg (1280x720, 473K)

Unfortunately the concept of black lightning didn't work quite as well in the film

Attached: The.Magic.World.of.SHAZAM!-MkvCage.Com.mkv_snapshot_23.02.292.jpg (1280x720, 361K)

They got his HO! HO! HO! in there though! That's the most important part. Well aside from him being a caterpillar anyway.

WB giveth and WB taketh away.

I just hope the sequel actually happens. I've no doubt a sequel will perform better since it wont have Endgame ticket going on sale before it even releases

This just shows that those who love you are the only ones that you should care about.

It's been confirmed already

Yeah I know but movies have been confirmed before and didn't happen

Why would you discount Aquaman's end boss fight? That shit was great.

i really didn't expect this when i saw this in the theater.

It was obvious what his mom did, but the way she acted when he confronted her hit me hard

what if Shazam instead chose young Captain Boomerang as his champion?

not really, most of those suits are from old money and patronage/nepotism

Everyone knows Aussies are all criminals, why do you think it was so hard to find a champion?

this looks cool as fuck

Old money doesn't preclude having a shitty childhood, funny enough. I bet most of Epstein's rich friends let him diddle their kids. Elites think they can get away with anything and they're usually right.

I liked it in a Star Wars way. I loved how bright and colorful everything was, and how you could tell what was going on. Honestly, the best part was still the fight between Arthur and Orm. The Star Wars stuff was really nice to look at and everything but it was just too much when all that needed to happen was Arthur needed to kick Orm’s ass in front of everyone and the war was the most efficient way to do that. Speaking from a screenplay perspective, that is.

The boss fight in Shazam was a lot more personal with a great sense of scale. It was all that it needed to be and didn’t try to be anything more. Not to mention that the stakes were mostly personal, but they weren’t HUGE, and I’m seriously fatigued of the world being in danger whenever there’s a cape movie. Like, the Justice League could’ve taken down Sivana if they needed to, you know? Oh, and there were more people that I cared about during the boss fight, than in Aquaman.

Last I heard, only thing that’s holding up production is the suits wanna release Black Adam first. They need to start shooting that fucking thing.

Last I heard Black Adam got a director so hopefully it starts soon

I kind of hope in the sequels Billy still takes to protecting his birth mom as Shazam.

Not out of hope of being taken back but just... To sort of look out for her in the way no one else has in her life.

>he gives her the compass
>what’s this?
Fuuuuuck man
Shazam is fucking wonderful, it’s terrifying when it needs to be, it’s sad when it needs to be, it’s inspiring and heartwarming when it needs to be
So much heart and effort went into the fil and it shocks me that it’s a DEU property.
Whens the sequel?

I know it was mentioned here but the boardroom scene is underrated, that shit was seriously brootal

And you just know she's the kind of "mother" who'll come crawling with her hands out when Billy makes something of himself.

OH FUCK.

Attached: FlawedBriefIcelandichorse-size_restricted.gif (255x252, 2.42M)

Brutal, especially when you get the secretary looking at it from outside. But it was also sad and catharthic. Sivana punching the intercom in rage when it started chanting about happy families was probably intended for laughs but it made me feel for the guy.

Is it just me or does the mom kinda look like Xev Bellringer

its like Spider-Man: Homecoming but good
