A bet bewteen Peter David's Captain Marvel, Ron Zimmerman's Ultimate Alliance and this mess from Bill Jemmas gave us one of the worst of the worst. Sorry if this isn't as big as the Mark Millar Triple Pack but it has to be done.
Amazons Attack!: Batman: The Gift: Border Town: DARE: Diesel (feat. 2 other Antartic Press threats): Dumbing of Age: To Those Who'd Ground Me: Chronicles of Wormwood: Heroes in Crisis: Kirby Krisis: LadyCastle: Liberality For All: Mark Millar Triple Pack: Maneaters: Mockingbird: Neokosmos: Power Lines: Sonichu: So You're a Cartoonist: Star Trek Discovery: Succession: Star Trek: New Visions: SoP Classic: The Ruff and Reddy Show: Ultimate Marvel: Yu-Gi-Oh! D-Stortion:
Every SoP I try to make it through this whole thing and my attention span always collapses around issue #3. There's some load-bearing neuron that just gives way.
It's nice to know there are some things you CAN rely on

the thingthat bothers me bout marville is that it has skeletons of jokes, as opposed to shit like unfunnies or trouble which is just constant irredeemable trash
Kayden Bell
Chapter 1 end
Take a rest for chapter 3. I know I still need to post chapter 2 but trust me, you're gonna do like Batman and have some prep time
has their ever been an official explanation as to why the lettering in this issue is like this. cuz the best i can come up with is that Jemas wanted to cause us more pain
See I feel like the later part of Marville is the most interested. The first two issues where it's just transparent shitposting are easy to dismiss as just stupid for stupid's sake. The clusterfuck of the latter half is harder to grasp.

Before I make the meta thread in the usual place, are there any Storytimes still going besides this thread?
Just to be clear, the meta thread doesn't mark the end of the weekend, jut that we are in the final stretch and a place to talk about the quality of this year and/or make commemorative images.
The meta thread is up. On /qa/ as always since it will probably be moved there anyway, and it'll last longer on the board made for meta threads. Head over once you are ready.
A great run. And until we meet again, boys and girls, know that wherever San Diego Comic Con lurks, in all its myriad forms, we'll be there, with the Hammers of Bad Story Writting, to fight for awfulness, and defend the pain.
>escaped without Avengers 200 Carol can't stop winning in 2019 Thanks OP(s)

I've been here for every year of it, and this is the first year I managed to truck through Marville.
What I think is interesting about Marville is that it is immunized against the world around it. With many Storytimes of Pain, you run into the issue that more awful things are made all the time, and it becomes increasingly hard for something to be notably shitty. At least for me, the pain from Marville came from the overwhelming confusion I felt from the whole thing, which spiked at the start of issue 3 and never quit climbing after that point. Every comic published in the next 5 years could be a reskinning of Unfunnies, and Marville would still stick out because of its complete disregard for its own sense of purpose.
Thanks, OP.

marville never gets old

The only thing released under this initiative is Trouble.
Ethan Adams
This comic is awful, but Wolverine’s appearance still cracks me up.
I love how the response to evolutionary science is always "No it's not! Miracles!"
Nicholas Perry
>kills something >I AIN'T A KILLER
Jordan Richardson
Oh hey, some actual facts in this patronising pseudo-scientific bullshit. Of course, it has to be the person who know evolution is a thing who argues against it, even though science knew this for a while
Ethan Mitchell
>The problem with scientists is that they are just not very scientific >FUCK SCIENTISTS, only MY theory of evolution is correct, Wolverine was the first man! Fuck you, Jemas.
Connor Green
Oh fucking hell, Jemas is actually pulling the "How do SCIENTISTS know how evolution worked? Where THEY there?" crap >have the black man start being threatening, then dial it back immediately What did Jemas mean by this?
Angel King
>a comic book editor turned writer saying what is and isn't a "real job"
Carter Cruz
>this whole thing was to hype the return of the Epic imprint >their first story was Trouble
Levi Anderson
>He feels his oats and gets into fights with his Uncle Ben >But Peter gets all juiced up and mad and pretty much abandons old Ben >But Ben up and dies before Peter gets the chance to come home and make his peace THAT'S NOT HOW IT HAPPENED AT ALL. Did Bill Jemas never actually read Amazing Fantasy #15? Because that was very obviously not what Lee and Ditko were going for. Behold, the last interaction between Peter and his Uncle. What's with this revisionist bullcrap? Did Jemas simply watch Raimi's Spider-Man movie and assume that it was an accurate portrayal of Ben and Peter's relationship?
>What's with this revisionist bullcrap? Did Jemas simply watch Raimi's Spider-Man movie and assume that it was an accurate portrayal of Ben and Peter's relationship? Either that or he read Ultimate Spider-Man, which also heavily rewrote Ben and Peter's relationship.
Charles Moore
>the caption just repeats the sentence above
Brayden Gutierrez
>EPIC WILL BE REBORN WITH COOL NEW IDEAS!!! >a shitty Spider-Man prequel in name only >reboot of Sleepwalker, of all people >shitty Doctor Strange prequel >shitty Doctor Strange spin-off
Aaron Robinson
Nicely made.
Jeremiah Hughes
Very nice
Josiah Ortiz
I'd say this has been a good year for Storytime of Pain. Good mix of classics, fan "favourites" and new stuff.
Carson Hughes
Yeah. Last year felt like a bit of a letdown, but it seems we've made a come back.
Jordan Price
This book never gets easier to read.
Easton Nguyen
I actually enjoy marville. more than I probably should, actually. it's such a far cry from most other stuff that marvel makes that it's sort of a "breath of fresh air"
anyway i appreciate you posting these comics user. here's to you and here's to another successful SoP !
He won. But this is like a pro racer going up against a blind man and a cripple.
Ayden Smith
Hey, Ultimate Adventures was good!
Nathaniel Wilson
So everyone on earth sold everything they owned to buy AoL stock? Is this corporate democracy?
Connor Walker
It was the style at the time

>Scientists aren't very scientific.
inspired by At4w's take on that epitome of retarded insight of society, i would love for someone to draw an image featuring every scientist from Yea Forums, Yea Forums, /m/ and Yea Forums flipping Jack off.
