It all goes back to the Golden Age, when Clark was an alien that could jump real goshdarn high and bend girders, and Wonder Woman was a well-trained woman that could deflect bullets with her bracelets and get a plane airborn by throwing it. They were kinda-sorta-equals!

But Wonder Woman was created to be fighting vaguely mythical dudes with swords and spears, maybe a mad scientist or two, and some lady with claws... meanwhile Superman just went off the wall, able to push around planets.

DC wants to keep the "our biggest dude is about equal to our biggest dudette" but their books have diverged to an absurd degree. It's like expecting Xena to be able to fight Goku. People too hung up over who could beat up who when they should be asking "is this well written?"

Depends on what characters you're using. If you're Goku vs superman, a fight like that can go on for days since we don't know Goku and superman's power levels. However, in this case, we've actually seen WW fight a bloodlusted superman. I think it was when he was under Maxwell's control. Anyways it was clear that she was outclassed by him.

She technicaly won this fight. Note that right here Superman sees her as Doomsday who just killed Lois, also they're in space, so no worries about collateral damage. This is Superman's full-powered punch without holding back.

In the end she hurt Superman more than he hurt her and could probably kill him with that tiara throw if she wanted to.

She was barely holding on the entire fight. While it was somewhat close she only one by slitting his throat with a magical tiara which is stupid but Supes prob didn't think Doomsday could throw magical princess crowns so got his throat slashed. If I recall correctly he healed fairly quick.

WW got bodied by Doomsday. An issue or two later Superman rips the fucker in half. WW when written correctly is a super strong warrior Aquaman tier strength and durability. Only when the comic dictates she has to be the line in the sand against Superman do the writers forget her powerset and just make her Supergirl.

Yeah the fight in Sacrifice is probably the best representation of how it would actually go. Supes is physically stronger and faster, and far more durable, but she's the most skilled fighter and can hit him where it hurts

She can't. Maybe with magic weapons and the element of surprise. She fights better, no doubt, but he over powers her so much it hardly matters in a war of attrition.
