The final second of the broom ride was cool, it established a bad guy i think? Even though its a generic giant worm monster its suppose to set the premise. I suppose its going to be a mainly slice of life with some magic elements and once in a blue moon they fight something.
Comparing this to Gravity Falls, SVTFOE, even Adventure time, its really lackluster and gives nothing.

Not as striking or catchy as the Amphibia or Gravity Falls openings, but I like it

Yeah, it kind of lacks a proper hook, both music and animation wise. It's fine, but it could be a lot better. It's a bit of a shame since Amphibia definitely followed in Gravity Falls' footsteps a bit but still carved a unique identity in its intro. This just feels like a blander, worse directed version of the GF intro to me. It's kind of weird, honestly.

Is it just me, or was some of the action a little too slow? Like in that scene where Anne is flying though the town, it looks like it's supposed to be a high speed trip to emphasis the chaotic nature, but the speed seems more like that of a causal cruise.

A similar case if when King pops up, it seems like it should be a fast action but it happens to slow. I dunno how to describe it but it makes the action seem kind of "floaty" if that makes any sense.

Just speaking about the music itself, I think it’s... just OK. Not nearly as good as Amphibia’s theme music. And it also just kind of ends abruptly with no satisfying conclusion... it doesn’t resolve. I’ll probably end up skipping the intro each episode. (As opposed to amphibia intro which I never skipped since it was so great).

As for the rest of it, the animation is fine, the flying shot is kind of cool. Overall this intro didn’t make me more excited about the show but it’s still a decent intro. +1 because it doesn’t have lyrics, I don’t know why so many people (well, mostly kids commenting on YouTube) want lyrics in their theme music. I give this intro a 6/10.

Not great, not terrible, but not wowed. The last sequence reminds me of the Dilbert intro. Smooth animation without any snap is a pet peeve of mine. I was really hoping for something that moved with more flourish, but this is an odd clash between charming rustic designs with sterile production.
The setting looks nice though.

I know it’s what’s popular but I wish cartoons just either fully committed to slice of life or just an overarching story. I know it hasn’t come out yet but it’s pretty obvious this will follow that same structure, the overarching story will just feel muted no matter how fantastical the world is. Yeah, this doesn't exactly fill me with confidence about the show. And I'm not one of those anons who's been hating it since it was announced (though I don't like the Cubone ripoff).

Music's okay but not incredibly memorable. Intro has a few decent parts but does look kinda flat and janky or something, like these characters could be animated more than they are or the level of detail clashes with the limited movement or something. I know it's TV animation and they don't have an unlimited budget, but it all looks a bit weird.

I also felt the intro was sort of lacking some really interesting hook or something. Like it almost felt like it stopped before it got to "the good part," like I thought it was building up to more and then it just never came.

Also is absolutely godawful, worse than the Cubone. It's ugly to look at and I just really dislike the creator so obviously inserting themselves in. I didn't even like the way Dana draws herself in the first place, but I guess I stupidly expected that shit would stay out of the show.

I guess just for a point of comparison when I say I felt this intro was pretty weird, I think the Amphibia intro, which is also similar in being instrumental, is great. I wasn't even initially planning on watching Amphibia but that intro really won me over, while I was more interested in this and if anything this intro just turned me off a bit. Also while it's probably dumb to bring up Star Vs. when I really don't like what it eventually became, I think that had punchier theme music too.

I think a big problem that the intro has is just that overall it's kind of bland. It's not bad, but it's not really great either and that's almost worse than just being bad because at least then it'd be memorable. I kind of wonder if the show itself will end up similarly - decently written and animated, but decidedly unmemorable and kind of uninteresting to look at. So far, the trailer kind of felt like it had shades of this going on.

I'd like to be wrong, but I already get the sense it's not a cameo. I think it's going to be an actual character with lines. Sure, it won't be the new main character or anything and I don't expect it will be, but I feel like we'll see it more than once.

And even if it is just a cameo, I think it's ugly as shit and it's too blatant a reference to herself. It's actively distracting to me, both from how weird it looks compared to the other stuff in the intro and how you can tell right away what it's supposed to be if you've seen her non-Owl House stuff.

I think I might be freaking out about it more than others, but sometimes there's just stupid trivial shit I really don't like and want to comment on, and this is one of those times.

Generally, protagonists needs to be able to do what plot demands, so a girl protagonist who go on adventure needs to be at least somewhat boyish unless her adventure is to seduce someone.

Ian Worrel is the fucking man. Say what you want about the plot and character designs, but by god the backgrounds and art of that show were masterpieces.

The backgrounds of a lot of recent cartoons have been the visual highlight of them. Even Adventure Time and R&M have some gorgeous looking backgrounds despite their simple and sometimes ugly art style.

If it turns out to really just be a cameo in the intro then I guess I overreacted by making like two (2) posts about it.
