it's honestly silly to try and gauge how durable gems are. Compare your example to amethyst, a quartz - supposedly a very hardy gem - who cracks from a short cliff fall onto a rock.

Gems are weak to penetration because it directly disrupts the continuity of their form. Even minor stabbings could poof them.

They are much stronger against impacts and blunt attacks, as they do not interfere with the continuity of their form.

Basically, you have to stab them if you want to beat them in a fight. Your fists won't even stagger them, and it's unclear if bullets can cause enough disruption to their form with how fast they would enter and exit their bodies. That, and the exact hardness of their skin, and what the insides of their projected bodies are like is a mystery. Stick with what is demonstrably effective. Shank the bitch.

The animation is so shit I can barely see it 'split in two', gif or not the crew's animators have no sense of weight. Even the highly regarded 'choreographed' scenes have little to no weight. Unless of course you show the scenes where they outsourced to Studio Trigger or some shit.

SU's animation is basic CN stuff if not a little bit better. The inconsistent boarding is what everyone bitches about when they talk about "animation".

No it's not the size changing, or shit like zuke's visual characterization, it's the actual movement I dislike. The one thing cartoons have over comics is the visual illusion of movement. With that said, hits and impacts don't have a follow through or don't show feedback. You know why people do a ball for practice? Because apart from squash and stretch, a ball can lose energy after each bounce. In SU if someone is hit or vice versa it comes off as floaty.

You mean the weight like says? That is a particular animation problem, but I'm talking about the regular stuff. Movement, walk cycles. Regular action. That stuff is fine, it's the finer points that are inelegant and I did notice a slight improvement in S5 with the feeling of weight. Obsidian especially.

If we're talking bare essentials yeah SU is a 8/10, hell I don't think they'd give you a degree if you can't create a decent walk cycle or lip sync. But for an 'action' show (along with it being a melodrama/musical/anime homage) it's pretty bottom of the barrel.

Yeah I wouldn't say it's winning awards for action anytime soon.
