The sad thing about Vision is that he used to matter a lot in Avengers. He's an example of what happens when one writer hates a character enough to wreck them, and nobody who follows him ever repairs the damage done. Readers have been trained not to care about Vision.
The MCU handled him well in character terms, but made him too powerful for the stories he was in after AoU, so he doesn't do anything in the Civil War fight, and gets injured early in IW. Which is why casuals, normies and OP think he's lame.

MCU Vision is great for comfy domestic scenes with Wanda, but neither of them really quip or make pop-culture references, so they hurt normies' attention spans, and he stays out of most of the action in CW, and spents IW getting injured, beaten and killed. So people forget him or think he's lame.

Robots and cyborgs never do well in comics because they are the first ones torn apart or have their arms ripped out just to show how serious the fight is.
Even in Invaders last month Human torch was ripped apart.

He sucks but inexplicably has a lot of good comics starring him. All of his solo series (or with Wanda), the Mantlo one, the Englehart one and the King one are all kino as hell.
