ARROWVERSE Covers, Stills & Information

>Stephen Amell planned to leave after season 7 to spend more time with his family in Los Angeles, but the producers convinced him to return for a shortened final season and give the series a proper sendoff.

>In season 8, Oliver will be working alone, going on missions across the world for the Monitor in order to prevent the Crisis, while trying to come to terms with his impending death.

>There will be another flashforward storyline. Katherine McNamara and Ben Lewis, who played Oliver’s children Mia Smoak and William Clayton, and Joseph David-Jones, who plays Diggle’s adoptive son Connor Hawke, have all been promoted to the main cast. Andrea Sixtos, who plays Rene’s daughter Zoe Ramirez, is expected to return, and casting is underway to John Diggle Jr., Diggle’s biological son who has a strained relationship with his adoptive brother.

>Malcolm Merlyn, Tommy Merlyn and Adrian Chase will all appear in season 8, but will be “different versions” of themselves.

>Oliver will revisit many hallmark moments of the series in season 8. Episode 1 will be an ode to season 1, episode 2 will be an ode to season 3, and so on, but the tone will be very unique due to the Monitor’s presence and the cosmic stakes.

>According to Amell, despite the Monitor’s prophecy, Oliver’s death is not 100% confirmed, although he always believed that, as the only Arrowverse hero without superpowers, Oliver should die eventually as the threats he faces becomes greater.

This shit is still going?

>According to the new showrunner, Eric Wallace, the series runs on three principles: humor, spectacle and heart. Season 4 focused on humor, season 5 focused on spectacle, and season 6 will focus on heart and deepen the characters’ emotions.

>Season 6 picks immediately after season 5, with Barry and Iris mourning Nora’s death and Eobard Thawne on the loose and pursuing his own agenda. The first half of the season will also explore how Nora’s death affects the future and why the date for the Crisis changed from 2024 to 2019.

>Season 6 is divided in “Pre-Crisis” and “Post-Crisis”, as the crossover will heavily change the series’ status quo in very unexpected way. It will also pay off and wrap up the Thawne storyline that is being set up since the pilot episode.

>The main villain of season 6 will be male and hasn’t been referenced in the series before, but is from the comics. According to Wallace, he has an emotional connection to Barry that distinguishes him from other villains and is Barry’s most personal enemy since Thawne. Casting called for a diverse actor.

>In addition to Nora’s death, Barry will face another emotional gauntlet after the Crisis, and the villain’s emotional journey will mirror his, which brings Barry and the villain together in darker ways than previous villains.

>Casting is also underway for a new member of S.T.A.R. Labs, a socially awkward African-American scientist obsessed with alien technology. Victoria Park, who plays Cisco’s girlfriend Kamila Hwang, will recur, and Sue Dearborn is also expected to be introduced.

>Season 4 was about xenophobia and divisiveness in America, and season 5 will be alienation and overreliance on technology. Showrunners Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner described it as “the BLACK MIRROR season”.

>Season 5 picks up a couple of months after season 4, with Lena Luthor still reeling from the revelation that Kara is Supergirl. Feeling betrayed, she begins focusing on developing a new technology that will make people rely more on machines than people who can hurt them, and this attracts the attention of the season’s main villains, Leviathan.

>Leviathan is a secret society with agents embedded in all organizations and governments across the globe, moving the needle to save the world. They have been pulling the strings since season 1, and were behind Lex Luthor’s actions in season 4. Due to his failure in defeating Supergirl, Leviathan has moved on to Lena and her new technology, and the core of season 5 is Kara and Leviathan fighting over Lena’s soul.

>J’onn J’onzz’s brother, Ma'alefa'ak, will also be an antagonist in season 5. He is a rogue shapeshifter who was exiled from Mars years before, and is brought to Earth by the Monitor to challenge J’onn and prepare him for the trials he will face in the Crisis. Phil Lamarr is voicing Ma'alefa'ak in his Martian form, and in each of his appearances he will shapeshift into a different character played by different actors. Their rivalry will affect the entire cast in unexpected ways.

>Jeremy Jordan will be returning as Winn Schott in season 5 after leaving the main cast in season 3.

>Despite its message about the dangers of technology, season 5 will be more intimate and personal than season 4 and favor character interactions over big ideas.

>The theme of season 5 is fame and how it affects people. The Legends have become global celebrities after saving the world in season 4, and that threatens to tear them apart, while Sara struggles to keep their family together.

>Episode 1 is a mockumentary about how the Legends are adjusting to their newfound fame. Some love it, while Sara is uncomfortable with how their dynamics have changed now that they are no longer underdogs.

>Due to the Legends being embraced as heroes, the Time Bureau has been shut down, so Ava Sharpe is unemployed and living on the Waverider with Sara. Her character arc is about finding her own place in the Legends, and she will develop unique relationships with all members of the team.

>Sara will get a “magical illness” that will strain her relationship with Ava, but she will eventually conquer it and turn it into a superpower.

>Season 5 will introduce a new version of Zari and explore her relationship with her brother Behrad, who is now the keeper of the Air Totem and a member of the Legends following the timeline change in season 4. Meanwhile, Nate will be struggling with his lingering memories of his relationship with the original Zari.

>The main villains of season 5 are Astra Logue and the “Encores”, notorious historical bad guys like Genghis Khan and Charles Manson, whose souls Astra has released from Hell. They are all power-hungry, attention-obsessed loners, which relates to the Legends’ conflicts about sticking together and staying true to themselves. Olivia Swann, who plays Astra, has been promoted to the main cast.

>Casting is also underway for a recurring character described as “Captain Jack Sparrow crossed with a Russian-accented Russell Brand”. Rumor has it this is Grigori Rasputin, who will work with the Legends.

>Further ahead, season 5 will introduce the original protectors of time, who unexpectedly resurface to undo everything the Legends have “screwed up for the better” over the past four seasons.

>The pilot episode is set before the ELSEWORLDS crossover and explores how Kate Kane became Batwoman.

>Kate is an ex-soldier who was kicked out of the military for being gay, and is haunted by the death of her mother and sister when she was a child. She returns to Gotham City three years after Batman’s mysterious disappearance when the Wonderland Gang led by the psychotic Alice kidnaps her ex-girlfriend Sophie Moore.

>Kate finds out that her cousin Bruce Wayne was Batman and steals the Batsuit to rescue Sophie. She eventually realizes that Gotham needs a new protector and embraces the mantle of Batwoman, aided by Luke Fox, the son of Batman’s engineer Lucius Fox. They operate on the abandoned Wayne Tower.

>Batwoman is pursued by the Crows, a paramilitary unit led by Kate’s estranged father, Jacob Kane, and financed by Kate’s stepmother, weapons manufacturer Catherine Hamilton, who has her own sinister plans for Gotham.

>Jacob hates vigilantes, believing that a real hero would have been capable of saving his wife and daughter, and Kate hated Batman as well until she learns the truth about Bruce.

>Catherine’s daughter Mary Hamilton is a charitable socialite who admires Batwoman while struggling to connect with Kate.

>Season 1 is very gritty grounded, and Kate will be the only one wearing a uniform, although there will be villains whose outfits will evoke the comics costumes.

>Kate will struggle with balancing her private life with her activities as Batwoman, particularly her romantic life. Although she is still in love with Sophie, she will have several other flings throughout the season.

>Alice is the main villain of season 1, but Kate will cross paths with several of Batman’s old enemies. The first will appear in episode 3, mistakenly believing Kate to be Batman and seeking revenge against him.

>One of the core themes of the series is Kate fighting to honor Batman's legacy while still carving her own path.

>No Black Lightning

I get that it's not technically part of the universe, but there's seriously no news on it at all?

>and this attracts the attention of the season’s main villains, Leviathan
BENDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!

>Katherine McNamara and Ben Lewis, who played Oliver’s children Mia Smoak and William Clayton, and Joseph David-Jones, who plays Diggle’s adoptive son Connor Hawke, have all been promoted to the main cast.
Oh boy, just what I wanted in the final season of Arrow.

>one villain season again
they never learn. Get ready for everyone acting like idiots so they can stretch the villain out over the entire season.
>a socially awkward African-American scientist obsessed with alien technology.
The socially awkward lab geek, my favorite trope that definitely hasn't been overused to death.
>Victoria Park, who plays Cisco’s girlfriend Kamila Hwang, will recur
Exactly what people want in a FLASH tv series.

Supergirl sounds fine. Not a fan of the Lena/Kara drama though and hope they don't just turn her into Lex. Wish he was returning as well though.

>the Time Bureau has been shut down
Thank god. She show needs to focus on the actual Legends again and not nobody's like Garry and ESPECIALLY Mona. Please tell me Mona isn't main cast for this season?

Supergirl is getting folded into the main universe after Crisis, right?

It's probably filming much later since the lack of news since CW is pushing the Crisis first so people don't get confused.

who /onlywatchesthecrossovers/ here?
It's surprising how the "Previously..." manages to get you up to speed with the latest drama.

Anyway I'm legitimely hype as fuck for Crisis. Hopefully they don't fuck it up and we get Lynda Carter WW interacting with a replacement for Adam West Batman.

Is this show ever not preachy shit?

You sound whiny.

Maybe, but I wouldn't count on it.

>Please tell me Mona isn't main cast for this season?

Both her and Gary. And Rasputin will probably be as well.

I wish Amell could have gotten to play Green Arrow in a show with competent writers.

>Casting is also underway for a new member of S.T.A.R. Labs, a socially awkward African-American scientist obsessed with alien technology.

He looks so tired bros ;_;

>having opinions on certain things
>whiny
pick one

awful

>the BLACK MIRROR season
Into the trash it goes.

>Supergirl
It never left the trash.

>One of the core themes of the series is Kate fighting to honor Batman's legacy while still carving her own path.
I'll believe it when I see it, but that description sounds less woke than the trailers, so is it too much to hope that the hilariously extreme backlash caused some panicked script rewrites? They hadn't actually filmed much at that point, I don't think.

Since we can't have tv Batman, I kind of want Batwoman to be good (and with lots of Ruby Rose kissing other women.)

>and season 6 will focus on heart and deepen the characters’ emotions.
Oh boy, drama

The only news I want from BL is a suit change. God that LED suit looks like a bitch to move in

Whiny.

bruh

There's also this.

Attached: Inspiration.jpg (1123x798, 249K)

That's pretty neat.

It's based on the current leviathan though which is bendis reimagined version

It's actually based on neither, according to the producers.
