I think Amphibia and Mao Mao have their strengths and flaws, but there is no reason to say that one is better than the other.
There's no shame in liking both shows, you know.

Sasha and Grime are the only things good about Amphibia and they rarely appear. Anne and the Plantars are not that entertaining at all.

I like both shows, but I personally prefer Amphibia because of how "sugary" some of the Mao Mao characters are, Adorabat and Badgerclops can also get somewhat annoying, unlike the Amphibia characters who I like pretty much everyone.
I get that the characters all being sweet and cuddly is to contrast with Mao Mao's edginess, but still, I'm just kinda tired of sweet and cuddly in general.
Amphibia also has better villains, I love villains like Grime who can be funny and threatening at the same time, while the Snake Orangutan guy is not really threatening at all, at least not yet.
Those are just some personal problems and aren't really big enough for me to not watch the show, but I still do prefer Amphibia.

Believe it or not people really like it for the characters and how they interact with each other.
Pretty much everyone has something really likable about them, even the background townsfolk have some nice quirks about them.
Yeah there are a lot of people who just wanna fuck Anne and Sasha, but people seem to genuinely be digging the characters and story so far.

And damn. What a finale.

Mao Mao's alright but uh, it definitely doesn't have any outstanding writing so far. It's cute to watch. Amphibia has so many more compelling characters and jokes for me to look forward to.
