Pine's Steve Trevor is charismatic (because he's default Pine), but not interesting or compelling.
Ludendorff and Poison are cartoonishly evil in the way of old serial villains, neither have any development. None of the other Amazons are given much in the way of character.
Lupin, God of War, is given to long bouts of exposition that seem to imply that he really wants to be the God of saving the Trees and Bunnies.
The not-Howling-Commandoes are pure hammy garbage.
There are really no good characters in the movie, and just a handful of good action scenes that don't look silly (the beach fight that opens the movie looks silly, the finale looks super-silly).

Batman 1989, Batman 1966, Batman Forever, Shazam, Aquaman, all better. Probably forgetting some.

Actually, I'll walk that back a bit. Captain Marvel actually pulls off it's Twist effectively, DC's movie tries so hard to force you to believe the General is Ares that neither character makes any sense by the end of the movie.
Wonder Woman has to find, fuck and lose a boyfriend in under two hours, whereas Carol's movie is about the betrayal of old allies and re-finding lost friends.
And Carol gets about 4x as much dialogue.

I want her to be different from generic positive superhero persona and more in being actually human, I want her to be flawed, to be xenophobic and misandrist as Frank Miller did her. She should think that the multiracial amazons are better than the puny racialistic divided humans. But she is pragmatic, she knows that for an evil life she spare many other will die. She would cut the hand of someone that abuse his wife, cut the dick to a pedophile, murder Poison but for 2 seconds she think to not do it.

Out of curiousity, what did you like in WW more than Captain Marvel?
For me the low points in Captain Marvel were the intrusions of the pop soundtrack and Fury's abrupt cat-fetish. But neither were quite enough to ruin the movie for me. Larson and Jackson had good buddy cop chemistry, and both "villains" (Talos and Yon-Rogg) were solid and non-tropey. Even the Intelligence was solid.

The antagonists in Wonder Woman were huge nothingburgers. Dr. Poison doesn't even get to set a deathtrap or anything, she's just there. Ludendorff's whole character is ruined because he has to be more diabolically evil than Red Skull x Super Hitler just to sell himself as Ares.
Ares is frankly dull then ridiculous when the fighting starts.

What exactly is better in WW? The excessive ramping effects? I thought the trench scene was pretty cool but its not nearly enough to raise my view of the entire movie.

I don't understand the people who said it was bad either.

It was middle-of-the-road Marvel, with some good fights in it.
What I don't understand is why Larson gets turned into the avatar of Le Ebil Woman for some conflated talk about never getting interviewed by other women, and Heard gets a Full Pass when she's actually a completely abusive fake-#Metoo-ing bitch.

But then the DC fanbase hand-waves a lot that is unacceptable from other sources.

It's a good and enjoyable movie that isn't afraid to stick to the source material.

It's decent really, but it gets bogged down by the shit dialogue, run of the mill plot and odd stylistic choices.

I would give Captain Marvel a C because it's so formulaic. I would also not have given WW an A either, at best a B+ and quite possibly not that because it's weakness are also where it becomes really formulaic (in, among other examples, the final boss CGIfest which many popcorn/tentpole movies are guilty off but of which the DC Films in the Snyder era are particularly rubber stamped with, Mamoaman included).

Shazam is a refinement of the forumula but has numerous problems.

At least the comics made it specific that if only one Marvel Family member is transformed, they will have full power level; with two members transformed, the duo have each a half of the power level; with three transformed, the trio will have each only one third of the power level and etch etch.
At least, do what Flashpoint did and makes all the kids part of Captain Marvel's powers, a kids got strenght, one wisdom, one stamina, one powers, one courage, one speed. And they have the power to form the Captain Marvel by saying the name Shazam all together.
Or made it reverse. When Cap turn his family into super heroes they all have a part of his original powers. Darla got speed (and it appeared to be that to me), Billy got powers and etch etch.
